It's not just his voice, the lyrics, and the music, I kinda expect that excellent from him, he's a amazing musician after all And aside of how well the director execute the music video and captured the essence of the song perfectly It's his acting that I am not prepared for!! So emotional and so much conviction in his every scenes!! The sorrow, the sadness, the anger, the hopelessness!! he truly deliver! I believe everything he put out there here. WOW!! I did not expect to be drained emotionally like this when I click this video from this lovely lady Rebecca. Amazing! Here both variants have been composed for the use of this band only but they are variants of the same song which is already pretty old. (Many awards only consider recent content.)

Pretty sure he actually did scream the end without technique, but I suspect if they do this live he'll dial it back and use fry, etc. I think his approach is similar to Kyo from Dir En Grey; does things that are clearly damaging in the studio, but uses proper technique live.

I love your reactions because you’re so motivated by the emotion, while ALSO appreciating the technique. So many people are leaning on one or the other. But you appreciate it all, and in such a charming way. I showed this to my Da on music appreciation night (something we started after my mom died a few months ago, cancer), showing him music that’s really technically spectacular even if it’s something he’d never listen to for fun. We’re both music nerds and are/have been in choirs, play instruments, I went to nationals, etc, so we really bond over music. He doesn’t quite approve of screaming. He rationally knows it’s a technique to convey pain, rage, frustration, desperation, like other techniques. But emotionally, he just recoils from it. He’s always been pretty chill and I think the idea of exploring that kind of pain is uncomfortable for him and always will be. He never really understood my passion for darker and moodier music. For some, it makes them feel more alone and puts them in a funk. For me, it’s beautiful and more complex than happy emotions generally are, have more depth, and make me feel like I’m not alone with whatever I’m going through. It’s catharsis, or even… self-exorcism if I’m not doing so well. I’m glad he doesn’t get that, because he’s not had that experience. That’s okay though. He can appreciate the technical feats on our Appreciation Nights, and we can talk and make memories, and catch the finer details from reactions like yours, and isn’t that what it’s all about? 😊 I hope you’re taking care of yourself.
