as a screamer in a band, some people say "screaming doesnt take talent" I advise some of those peaople to scream for 15 min straight and still try to sing or even talk. Ronnie is an insane musician. He is his own genre.
Fun fact: this isn’t even his most vocally difficult song, he’s just having fun here😂😂😂 It’s stupid how actually EASY this is for him. The lyrics are very much storytelling because this is about his heroin addiction and the physical effects of it. He’s using vampires and zombies as a metaphor for how the drugs made hime physically feel. This version is just having a lot of fun visually with the vampire angle😂
I’ve heard this song and watched this video about 100 times no lie. I can honestly say I still get goosebumps, this song to me is a modern masterpiece.
The craziest part about his singing. Is that live, the performances are almost a one for one match to the pre-recorded versions. I've seen them a few times and every now and then Ronnie mixes it up but his range and pace are only even more impressive in person somehow. Very few live recordings seem to do his range justice though
You need to connect to the lyrics to really appreciate the final fry screamed section. Lyrics are all rock bottom desperation, anger and pain of a drug addict wrapped up in a video playing on the vampire metaphor being the ultimate addict. The screaming just showcases that pain, anger and someone drowning in despair so well. Genius video in production quality, musically, story telling and lyrics.
Ronnie is a former drug addict, but he's clean and sober for 10 years now. The darkness of the lyrics are drawing the parallels between vampirism and addiction, the lack of self-control and the damage you do to those around you.
I just found this reaction in my recommendations. I am fully hooked in. Your point to point transitioning in Ronnie's extremely difficult lyrics was what pulled my in. Ronnie can very easily transition from an A5 to C2 in a matter of seconds (Reference: Popular Monster 2nd chourse transition). Also can be noted in "the drug in me is you" reimagined . All in all this is my favorite breakdown of this song. Definitely gained a subscriber this day.
Great job!! I have to agree that “The drug in me is reimagined” would be a huge hit here and although its a video performance, he really shows his skills
Your reaction to this was everything I hoped for Jen! I knew you would love how good his voice is and there where plenty of jaw dropping moments from you which I enjoy. I feel bad you got scared but Ronnie really is an incredible singer
Ronnie has such a gifted voice and he uses it wisely. He never over does it but delivers some of the most epic vocal performances I've seen. The lyrics are incredibly deep and emotional as well.
Hilariously enough, the "unvamped" version, as you so eloquently coined it, has no screaming at all. It's the exact same lyrics, but with huge hair, skin tight jeans, and a fun kinda groove. Lace up your dance shoes for it
Well this was different! I have never been a fan of metal so it’s not something I would choose to listen to. I also never watch horror movies, but I hung in there to support you. ❤️ That being said, this singer has a beautiful voice with so much control. I also understand the message, and having had someone incredibly close struggle with addiction, I felt the imagery in the lyrics. Now I think I’ll go listen to Hakuna Matata…😉
Honestly besides the lyrics, the original music is a fun and playful pop punk song. This remake version matches the darkness of the lyrics in tone unlike the original.
You should listen to the non vamped version! Almost the exact same lyrics and arraignment but a totally different song. If you want to react to something like these two, The Drug in Me is You and The Drug in Me is Reimagined would be a great double reaction.
"We get it Ronnie you can music" is my favorite view of this singer as spoken by Ryker Road. If reaction videos are your thing please give them a look also.
This is such a beautiful breakdown and the perfect FiR song to do it on, Ronnie has such a diverse voice and is definitely one of the best in the industry Can’t wait to check out more of your stuff
Glad you got to experience that. That's about as easing into his music as it's going to get. As others have mentioned, check out the drug in me is you (reimagined) if you already haven't. Id suggest getting a glimpse of what the original versions of these songs were just to see where they came from, but you don't have to listen to the whole thing.
The fans definitely didn't go easy on you. They pretty much just kicked the door in and duct taped you to the chair by getting you to react to this. Ronnie Radke is a vocal genius in our generation and that is a fact.
Jennifer you just need to do all of Falling in Reverses catalog. Ronnie is one of the most diverse metal singers I have ever heard. That being said if you do another song, you should do Coming Home. Its beautiful. Another song that he reworked The Drug in you is Reimagined is great also
This is an astonishingly empassioned and evocative performance. You talk about being introduced gently to metal; and I think this is a great entry point. Although the vocalist here uses many sounds and techniques that are used in metal, the song as a whole isn't really metal. For example, there are no twiddly guitar solos; no relentless double-kick bass drums; and no crunchy or chuggy guitar riffs. So I think your patrons who recommended this song are indeed easing you gently into metal. What you will come to discover is that metal is far more diverse than pop - from the virtuosic anthems of Power Metal to the unholy despair of Doom Metal; from the fringes of hard Rock into the mainstream of Heavy Metal; from the delicacy and heartache of Gothic Metal to the sheer face-melting power of Black Metal. Metal isn't just one thing. It has many dimensions, and myriad courses may be charted through its turbulent and many-textured waters.
Great reaction - I have watched at least 50 different reactors do this song, and I love the shock and awe at them hearing and seeing what Ronnie does with his voice. I find myself singing this song and trying to re-create all Ronnie's little nuances and vocal phrasing. That man has got some pipes!!! - I'm looking forward to your other reactions of Falling in Reverse
Well…. You’re about to receive a number of requests for more Falling In Reverse (brace yourself) Probably not the easiest introduction to “heavier” music, but the singer (Ronnie) is absolutely amazing
The fact he can do this live is crazy, like this man would be at home playing the phantom. This song was a vocal master class where he just wanted to play around.
I have been waiting for you to do some FIR!! you are going down a rabbit hole of awesomeness! look forward to seeing more, Ronnie is an amazing artist! :)
“A little bit of a scream there”… Just you wait…😂 Loved this - always a pleasure to see someone have their first Ronnie experience. Off now to watch your Watch The World Burn reaction. Would love to see you have a look at Ren, a Brighton based musician / singer / rapper/ god. “Hi Ren” for his remarkable work of genius and Chalk Outlines, a duet with another remarkable singer, Chinchilla. Think you’ll get a kick out of both. Cheers!
Great reaction! This video won a lot of movie prices in several countries. The girl in the video is Ronnie's live in girlfriend Paige (former WWE champion). Ronnie said, be knew that this wouldn't be a radio friendly song but he wanted to leave his creativity full rains for once. For my personal taste it's a bit to theatrical, but objectively it is a very masterful song. I really hope you'll check out The Drug In Me Is Reimagined by Falling in Reverse (maybe watch the original "The Drug In Me Is You" before). Subbed. Greetings from Germany
BTW.... Ronnie Radke is his own genre of music. He's not just metal. He's rock, metal, classical, rap, techno, edm, etc. It's always a pleasant surprise with his music. And I mean surprise.
This reaction will change your life ma'am! Congratulations, it was a stunning react, very genuine! This song is a masterpiece, seems a Broadway show! Ronnie is really talented and they earn a lot of fans in last years! Is the best rock/metal voice at the atual music! No doubt about it
This was actually one of the sweetest ways to introduce you to metal singing, and that was a great reaction. Please consider to try Pain of Salvation - Iter Impius, very theatrical song too, with a nice progression.
I usually don't like these broken down videos but your humour and engagement is so fucking on point and not boring I can defenently see myself subscribing
Ronnie really did well with his prison sentence coming out and redoing his original hits and making them hits all over again ty Jennifer love your channel and the excitement you show experiencing new to you music
I loved watching your reactions. I've watched many reaction videos of this song. Your knowledge is incredible. I can sing but I can't actually read notes, so it's crazy how you can hear a note he sings and you know exactly what note it is. You have a new subscriber. 😊
I don’t know what it is but the sung note he hits after the lines of screaming brings tears to my eyes. I’ve heard this so many times and it still happens.
I have no experience to have a proper frame of reference. But, how close to opera is this performance? Or more accurately, opera infused with Jinjer's style. (I don't know what else to call it)
Since you love Disney and want a soft introduction into metal. React to several metal covers from Jonathan Young. I'm not big on metal either, but Jonathan has the best vocals I've ever heard. Anyways, you Take Care & God Bless.
Man. It’s been a great music morning today lol This is a legit masterpiece. 🔥Falling In Reverse and Ronnie Radke are on their own level. 🖤 Especially when you realize what the original was lol Definitely check out The Drug In Me Is Reimagined 🔥
It's amazing to watch vocal coaches watch Ronnie, Because they get so much they can connect with. Plus most vocal coaches end up going weak at the knees hearing his talented voice. Loved him since his old old days and he's only just getting better. Highly recommend listening to the papa roach cover of "Last Resort". That will get your vocal coach senses tingling like crazy. Also he wrote this song whilst in prison, This version is how he really wanted to release it however he went with the emo rock vibe because that's what he was known for at the time and how he had his popularity.
Hi Jen! Sorry you were scared at the end, but it seemed like you were really enjoying everything before then :) Ronnie includes a lot of distortion (and yes, sometimes straight up screaming) when he sings. His lyrics can also be quite intense. FiR might be a bit too much for the moment. I know you love theater, so some lighter-fare symphonic metal might be more up your alley. Complex musicality, more classically-styled singing, and lots of drama! I’d recommend Nightwish to start with, they’re kind of the introductory symphonic band, and they are truly incredible. I guarantee you’ll love their current singer. Most people first recommend ‘Ghost Love Score’ but-fair warning-it is a 13-minute song. If you’d like less commitment, try ‘Storytime’ or ‘Ever Dream’. (Choose the live videos from the Wacken 2013 music festival.) Have a great day!
Im totally new here. Subscribed and all. I must say, I live for people reacting to Ronnie lol. I will also say, if nobody else has, he doesn't flag anyone for using his songs. If youtube is a pain, reference himself giving all permission. He also reacts to reactors. I've watched quite a few channels get massive after popular monster / the drug in me is reimagined was released because he reacts and enjoys. Especially vocal talents. This reaction isn't uncommon. But once you get into his work, you'll see he's safe and extremely talented.
Ronnie Radke has the most amazing vocals range. You're are so right he does it so effortlessly. My personal favorite vocally speaking is The Drug in Me is Reimagined. I would love you your take on it.
Amazing! 👍The difference between this and the original version on an emotional level is mindboggling. Love it. Like others I would love you to react to "The drug in me is you" then react to "The drug in me is reimagined" if possible in the same video. Yeah no... Ronnie Radke himself said he will never take down reactions to his videos. And if it happens he will deal with it personally and have the takedown removed. Because interupting his art is like slicing a painting with knife.
The original was written while looking himself in the mirror while in jail. It is about his drug addiction. The original video feels much more like that is what it is about. This version is so different while being the same. Ronnie is a vocal acrobat and can do just about anything.
I hope you do “The drug in me is you” & “The drug in me is reimagined” in one video by this band! Ronnie Radke has outrageous talent!
I second this!
And I concur! 😂
Absolutely this!
this is a MUST
Yes, Jen. Watch the original. the the reimagined. Same song, same lyrics same artist but with contrasting tones.
as a screamer in a band, some people say "screaming doesnt take talent" I advise some of those peaople to scream for 15 min straight and still try to sing or even talk. Ronnie is an insane musician. He is his own genre.
This dude is insanely talented, with or without screaming. I mean, I know how hard it is to "scream-sing", but either way his voice is crazy good

I bet! Thank you for sharing 😊
Ronnie Radke has the one of the most insane vocal range and control in history. You can't deny his skill even if you don't like his music.
Youre totally right how stupidly easy it is for Ronnie. I am jealous at his sheer vocal talents.
Hahaha, liar.
I’ve heard this song and watched this video about 100 times no lie. I can honestly say I still get goosebumps, this song to me is a modern masterpiece.

Welcome to the horrors of addiction. He captures the pain so well. Ronnie is amazing.
Ronnie is a former drug addict, but he's clean and sober for 10 years now. The darkness of the lyrics are drawing the parallels between vampirism and addiction, the lack of self-control and the damage you do to those around you.

"Well that took a turn" perfect response. That made me literally laugh out loud.
Great job!! I have to agree that “The drug in me is reimagined” would be a huge hit here and although its a video performance, he really shows his skills

You trying to say water in an American accent was honestly adorable but also hilarious at the same time 😂 (I am American)
I will never tire of people finding these remakes. They are so painstakingly made, and it shows.
Thank you, not only for a wonderful review and analysis, but also for introducing me to such an amazing new song! ^_^
I love how she kinda got lost in the video and didn't pause it 😂 great reaction to this song.
