  • Today I harvest many vegetables from my garden. Still enough time for a few more harvests before first frost arrives.

Thank you. The gardening season is almost over. Yesterday morning I woke up to a temperature of 46 degrees here in upstate NY. But I do have a couple more harvests left.

That’s a great harvest. Those dam moles got into everything of mine this year. Never had as much as this year. I guess they have to eat alsoâ€Ķ

Hey Aaron. Voles got into some of my watermelons too and some tomatoes. My neighbor and I have seen a lot of these critters all over the place. Don't know how to keep them away for next year.

My favorite is the sofrito harvest. Those chicken are being well fed. Sorry about the watermelon but if the chickens eat it then there is no waste.

Gardening season is slowly coming to an end but it has been a great year. The sofrito ingredients are still growing.

Is there a reason you don’t just throw the dead headed marigolds back in the bed? You might get new flowers. Nice harvest.

Roots, crowding, and weather. The reason I don't want more marigold plants in the garden is because I have a determined amount of space for every plant. Too many roots from from additional plants will overcrowd what I already have. Besides, by the time new plants have a chance to grow any flowers, the weather will be cold enough to eliminate them.

Knew you had a reason. Did the chickens like the peppers?
