    Whitney, you're so correct when you talk about fabric. If you aren't familiar with garment fabrics it can ruin someone's hard work and time if the wrong fabric is used.

    I think that would look so cute under a sweater or sweatshirt for cooler weather. Just the collar peaking out, no extra bulk at the sleeves.

    Great Shirt, Whitney.
    It wouldn't be too hard to match the check across the pleats if you adjust the depth of the pleat to match a multiple of the width of the check.

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're correct, but you'd have to make sure that your yoke still matches the length of the skirt back that includes the pleats.

    I was just talking to myself( Don't tell anybody I was talking to myself😅😅😅), I want an easy camp shirt to make with no gathering on the back yoke, and here you are showing this beautiful Nozara shirt. I saw the picture with you, Tiffany, and two other TH-camrs on Tiffany's channel. You guys looked beautiful and I heard you did an Excellent Job at the conference.😊

    I completely agree about Itch to Stitch patterns. They are incredibly well-drafted. I started calling them “Traveling Pants” patterns, because they seem to fit every member of my sewing group, with all of our different body types. As soon as I discovered that nearly all of her patterns had bust cup options, I started buying them, and I have never been disappointed.

Looking forward to getting it sewn up this afternoon! Thanks Whitney for sharing your review and showing us how you solved a common issue of not quite enough fabric!

    Back on the video where you asked for suggestions on subects for future videos, I had asked for you to give help on the best fabric choices for different projects since I have never had luck wearing anything but natural fabrics due to super dry skin. Thank you!! You have been really helpful talking about all of the different choices and with your explanations I am starting to give some of the newer man-made fabrics a try. Some of them are working for me too! Thank you again! Angie

  • @judykski4916
    @judykski4916 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Other than the bust darts, this is pretty much the same as the LN Melody Dolman. When you try both of these shirts on, does the bust darting on the Nosara help to eliminate some of the excess fabric in the armpit caused by the grown-on sleeves?

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct that they are pretty similar. To answer your question, yes, I think the bust dart does help with excess fabric at the armpit. It doesn't totally eliminate it (that's the nature of a grown on sleeve), but it definitely reduces it.

    Hi Whitney, I'm interested in doing a camp collar on a button up shirt. I'm thinking of putting it on a Cashmerete Vernon shirt. Do you know of a pattern that has a good camo collar?

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just made the Style Arc Max Tunic and it has a nice camp collar. You will want to make sure the collar fits the neckline you are putting it into. The Max is nice because it's a camp collar going into a shirt front with a placket, where a lot of camp collar patterns use facings on the front.

    I was looking at the measurements today and there looks to be a large amount of ease. Did you adjust your sizing? According to the pattern I would wear a 12D but that would give me 9 inches of ease! Do you think I’m looking at it wrong?

    • @TomKatStitchery

    Hi Whitney great video. I hope you can help me. I am sewing up a vest that doesn't have a fba, I am a C cup, the pattern is a big 4.. I sewed up the test garments and the sleeve has a gap right at the bust? Should I have done a fba or is something else the problem? I looked on your channel and didn't see anything about the gaping armhole in sleeveless tops.
    My only thought is I need that extra 1 inch in the bust.
    Thanks.

    • @TomKatStitchery
