Imagine being a squad tasked to hold a small section. You have some AT missiles but only enough for a handful of armored vehicles. You're not expecting to find any vehicles, maybe one or two APC or IFV. Out of nowhere you and your squad hear this slowly approaching roaring noise. And out of the treeline a dozen or more T-34's comes out. You have enough AT for barely half of them. But you know that even though these ancient tanks have old and "obsolete" weapons they are still not obsolete against human bodies. Has to be an extremely bizarre encounter.
@IvanChe I've had a bit of success in the past. But it is mostly useless I agree. He didn't mention that at the start that recon fox killed 2 of 3 of my elite infantry before they even unloaded
I'm only 7 mins in the video but just being helpful is arty is a game changer, try and include more into the deck to soften up towns or heavily defended areas.
@@TheMetalfreak360 Yes, I ask what other game it looks like more. Because after playing wargame and steel division, the difference is very noticeable. And "warno" is mine steel division 3 and not a new wargame Translation problems, please note
@@PantherBlackRu Hm... Haven't played since Early Access release, so it might have changed, and I don't remember exactly myself how it felt like, but if I remember right, I stated in my review that it felt like between Steel Division 2 and Wargame. Both in terms of flaws and positives. Personally didn't enjoy it too much there and then, but I had 2 hours max before I could get my money back, so I didn't get to test it out much. I refunded the game mostly because of all the issues I had with UI and generally bugs of the few games I did play, and content lacking.
Dunno how much that helps, I would rather ask somebody that plays it currently on the Discussions forums on Steam or something to get a better grasp on how it is.
You know, despite complaining about how "bad" the manpad AA is, you traded extremely well with all of those SU-22s. He get's like... some damage on a few infantry squads (basically zero cost for you) and loses a high cost napalm bomber half the time.
I've had really good results, especially in infantry-forest-engagements, with supporting infantry advances with a supply vehicle just 200 meters back. It takes just a seconds for engineer units to fill up their napalm-weapons and unit-strength. If you micro it well you can constantly move units that are understrenght/low-on-ammo in and out of the frontline.
How are you finding the infantry changes so far? I'm liking much longer time to kill on them. They seem more tactical rather than glass cannon. I think i may actually be taking the jump and buying the game now. Watching matches previous i always hated that infantry just obliterated each other.
i think infantry is better now and better units have some function, only thing is that some air units seems to be immortal so swarming helicopters etc might be death to your infantry. So waiting for next balancing phase
Hey Vulcan can you share your opinion on prioritizing veterancy or availability with the new patch? This is a broad question so just speaking in general terms, auto loaders and other things are going to effect the answer so just compared to previous patch.
I am obv not vulkan but here's my take. Veterancy primarily now affects suppression, and the changes to accuracy and RoF are minimal. However, suppression is pretty brutal - low cohesion units are practically out of the fight, and even a medium cohesion unit is at a severe disadvantage to a high cohesion unit of lower quality. As a result, take veterancy for units you expect to be on the front slugging it out. Line infantry, tanks, combat recon vehicles, spaag and the like. Veterancy is much less important for units who you don't expect to get shot at, or who are not expected to do their job while being shot at. Missile AA, artillery, ATGM teams, and the like.
loving the content Vulcan, but I will say about arty you could click counter battery and then move Afterwords like your opponent would do the same just redeploy. so yeah, its more about picking your moment to drop arty or counter battery and where you're going next to, for example you don't want to bring in crappy 80mm mortars just terrible but if you have no choice then yeah but bring 100mm morters and big arty guns with yellow or green or bright blue are the good ones to get they actually kill stuff and great for adding the presser on the opponent arty is dam op in this game compared to sd 2, logistics is no joke in this game and it's only going to become better and more meta, police units and leaders are so much more important now like std but obviously not the same way but still they will win you guys fights you can't loose with a police unit and leaders and the varieties of infantry it's so op if used properly with mechanized support omg even with the Amx with the 20mm auto cannon omg most op unit in the game well one of them ahahaha also I could be wrong but the way I make this deck is with two cards of 1 black hawk and the mirage with the bombs and sead and then the aa harriers 3 of them it seems really op when you know how to use the LAZER guided bombs in conjunction with the man pads and aa infantry it's a really deadly stealthy deck if you really have a good look at them the harassment and killing potential is so worth and I can't hold it down anymore pivads are actually really good I don't understand why you think they are bad like any unit in this game if it's just fighting on its own good chances that it won't survive long common sense but pivads have taken out helicopters with just them I have done it easy peasy just draw the enemy out and then bam op auto cannon fire has always been op to helicopters don't you remember wargame red dragon days they are still op ahahahah I honestly am lost for words they have radar which like all you can turn on and off your really missing out on how good pivads actually are and with igla teams they can be op and hard to find
Lol well thats a first, never seen someone try and use so many T34/85s! On the counter battery subject, i've found that because almost everyone tries to counter battery your arty, i don't. It sounds counter productive but hear me out. I never use any towed artillery, only SPG's, after every fire i shift move to a new location every time without fail. All the ammo and time spent attempting to counter battery me is entirely wasted as i can't remember the last time it caught one of my units, and the entire time i'm just punishing enemy units on the front lines. Its like they willingly give you localised artillery superiority so i just lean into it!
Poor nighthawk. One bomb per salvo, two salvos needed for winchester. It's a loitering bomb truck ripe as hell for any AA in the area (should it be able to actually hit, I guess). OH does anyone know if MG's can shoot at helo's yet?
I wish I could collect the information of several thousand folk and start the sueing process for false advertisements and active scams pushed by TH-cam I'm sure we could get it changed and have certain folk up top removed next to having TH-cam and the false advertiser's paying a large fine and with large I mean a % part of their annual income something like 25% so it hurts them But as always great video vulkan love your games 👍👌
eugen systems need to work on a procedural map generator. Anyone here that has played Steel Division 2's army general mode, knows how far a map generator would go in terms of pushing the game into S tier territory.
While an amazing idea, it will severely fuck with map balance and unfairly affect fights by terrain disadvantage. Thus all maps are carefully crafted to balance out both sides of the attack.
@@GrumpBurger well the crafted maps make sense for multiplayer so why not both. I'd porbably be playing Steel Division 2 right now if maps were generated based on geographic location because it adds an infinite amount of replayablity
This game looks so sweet. I can't wait for Army General to be added, since I'm not a multiplayer guy.
Same as me :)
same me too
skirmish fights against AI are good content even now, so no need to wait
I play multi, but custom game me v AI or me and a friend v AI, so there is SP content to be had, as well as the Skirmish As Freezed said.

Sweet new TTK for the units. New map looks pretty real and nice

Kinda. The specific special forces unit in Berlin was named "Detachment A". They operated in 6 man teams.

Really enjoying Berlin Command, especially the Mirage IVs. Hopefully they fix the Mirage IV Sead, currently bugged as the HE bombs don't drop.

Massive improvements since the start of early access for sure.
Thanks again Vulcan :)

Love the video! Do you have the Deck code?
Berlin Command doesn't get any bigger missile AA than MANPADS? That's rough
Any chance you could play the Broken Arrow demo? I've seen others play it but your playstyle and strategy are something entirely different to behold.
