    Using tripod put on shoulder is great idea! Thanks!

    This was already a good video once you typed in the title. Slow motion is cool but hugely overused as a crutch by people who at least subliminally don't want to think out what's most appropriate for each shot. I've seen promo videos that used slow-mo and slider for literally every shot. I don't want constant hand shake either, but we've learned from decades of documentary work to accept that obviously handheld is in some way truer and realer. Next week I've got to stage some b-roll and a touch of shake might help, in contrast with the locked-down interviews. I like the manual focus pulls, too. I agree that with practice you can get pretty close, and manual might bring a subtle rightness to it, a timing that just feels like it works, because you're in total control. Anyway bravo for adding to the stuff that appeals to people who like to think their work through and not just mindlessly do the latest popular five things.

    Good points there....
    1) Need to buy an ND filter for my 25 mm f/1.7 lumix lens
    2) Need to get better at Manual Focus, really struggle with it when shooting at 24 fps!

      Definitely need to practice that manual focus, it seems scary at first but once you get good at it you really can't go back to autofocus! I only use autofocus when filming myself. :)

    You're amazing. I feel special in my exclusivity because i subbed in your "indy" stage - meaning, prior to your 2.3 million subs and commercial endorsements. LOL Keep crushing it, bro. I predict mega success in a short time.

    Fabulous video, Johann!
    Every single time, slow motion cannot upgrade your skills.
    The visuals, the storytelling, sound design etc. can make a video cinematic af!

      Always! And once you learn all those things for correct use in 24fps, you can apply that same knowledge for when you do shoot Slow-Motion and get even better results! When you become heavily reliant on one feature of a camera, or anything in life, it can stop you from progressing! So limitations are absolutely essential for us to improve. :)

    I love that you tried to explain that all your shots don't need to be the same as everyone else. Now do a video on A Roll, do you follow the coverage rules you here directors complain about in the industry like get the Wide, then Tracking, then close up, and maybe reverse shot on the other side of set?

    • @JohannBeute
      @JohannBeute  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! We should create for ourselves, and if we do that then we'll always be unique. :) And yes, I'd always recommend getting a medium, close up, and wide, but that's a video for another day!

      Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts! I find worse audio is always harder to bear through than a worse picture, so I'd rather prioritize the former! Will try to make it less distracting in the next one though! :)

    Won’t higher shutterspeed help for tack sharp footage when creating product videos ? Like I have been thinking about it but never tried it .... like breaking rules basically

    On the Nikon z6 there’s is an option to shoot in 1080 24p x4 and x5, can you do a video on explaining what that is because I have no clue

    • @JohannBeute
      @JohannBeute  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1080, 24p at 4x or 5x means that the camera records at 24p 4, or 5 times slower. So your final video file plays back in slow motion, and doesn't need to be slowed down in editing. I would never use that option, unless you don't have access to an editing programme that can slow down footage.

    Witch lens do you advice for?

    • @JohannBeute
      @JohannBeute  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are shooting video, are the one behind the camera, and have a low budget, I would recommend buying old vintage lenses. Old maybe a 24mm, 35mm, 50mms, 85mm or 105mm, etc. They can be stinkin' cheap, you'll usually get great smooth manual focus rings, awesome stylish quality and some of them can be really really sharp! Just look up some reviews online for the lens you're looking at getting.
