Al, I'm not a very creative wood turner, but you have taught me to reveal the beauty of the wood. I learned from you that it's all about the beauty of the wood. Thank you!
I am looking forward to the replay of The Fire Vase, which, due to your kindness, Sits prominently displayed in my living room! Thanks for the replay of this vase! It is a gorgeous piece! Deus abençoe voces dois!
Don't ever stop what you enjoy doing Al. A really interesting choice for such a dignified wood in that Sequoia. Love it. Enjoy sailing towards the horizon Kevin (UK)
I enjoy your videos so much I went and bought a lathe myself. It is so much fun thank you for the demonstrations I learn a lot from you. I have posted a lot of my turnings on facebook at Gary McGaugh. some of them turned out quite nice, thank you.
Very very nice AL .... I've never seen Sequoia turned. What a beautiful wood ... love the burl. Thanks for posting this video. I'm trying to catch up on your vids of late... I'm sure I will find many treasures on those as well. Take care - from here in central Pennsylvania.
Well that's a flashback alright! Thanks for taking the trouble to post this one, Al, otherwise we might have missed a lovely piece. Sequoia is truly lovely, and you make it look its best. Take care, my friend.
A cool artistic choice to keep the bork 'break out', Al! Hope you and your wife are well and sailing away from covid 19! I wish you a good time and that your dreams about living on and sailing the catamaran to wherever it pleases you work out as desired! :-)
Thanks for sharing Al. It is a very interesting vase. One doesn't see much redwood burl. I guess they keep it all locked up on the west coast (VBG). I hope sailing life is going well. Are you making progress on the onboard shop? Take care and stay healthy.
Sure miss your regular video’s, not just for the great wood turning, but your chatty conversation as you work, something that takes a certain style that few people have. On another note, fill your boat with food, fuel and other supplies and stay offshore and away from your countrymen who are doing the wrong thing, especially down where you are located. Wrong age group and some health issues not in your favour if you don’t mind me saying. Just being friendly from an older retired bloke with a lifetime medical background. Use your common sense, keep away from all crowds etc. you know what I mean. Look after yourself and that lovely wife of yours. Safe travels and fair winds. Thank you for sharing one of your earlier projects. 👍😁🇬🇧🇦🇺🔭 PS, sail down to Tasmania, we are COVID-19 free and you can have your pick from or 5 acres of Eucalyptus, Wattle, and other nice hardwoods, enough to keep us both going for many lifetimes. ⛵️🐋🐳🦘
Thanks for watching Ron. Yeah this video was recorded while I still had the shop. My wife and I are on a Catamaran and my plans are still to setup a shop in it but have a few things to do before that happens

Blast from the past! Did you keep any of your turnings like this vase? And any thoughts yet on your future on board shop? Or too soon?

Al are you still turning and making videos
In an earlier video you were moving out and going to live on a boat. Was this made before then or do you still have a workshop for turning?
