BMW E90 Engine Swap: 320 hp E30 DTM engine inside... + On-Board & Action at Imola Racetrack!

- I had the pleasure of filming this gorgeous BMW e90 WTCC that received a superb engine swap.... Under the bonnet we find the 2.300cc 4 Cylinder engine that equipped the BMW E30 in the DTM Chapionship which develops about 320hp at 8.200 rpm. I immediately realized by the sound that type of engine did not belong to the e90 series. I would like to thank Mr. Vincenzo Cencini and his Cencini Sport Cars Garage for allowing me to install an action-cam inside the car. Enjoy the sound and the feelings of riding on Imola's racetrack ;-)
Ho avuto il piacere di filmare questa splendida BMW e90 WTCC che ha ricevuto un trapianto di motore. Sotto il cofano troviamo il propulsore che ha equipaggiato le BMW E30 nel DTM, ovvero il 4 cilindri 2.300cc accreditato di 320cv ad 8.200 giri/min. Avevo subito intuito dal suono che quel motore non apparteneva alla serie e90. Ringrazio della gentilezza il Sig. Vincenzo Cencini della Cencini Sport Cars per avermi permesso di installare la mia action-cam all'interno della vettura e di godere appieno del suono e delle sensazioni di guida sulla pista di Imola. Buona visione ;-)

I m.just curious. Can u swap the 320si engine for a normal 320i 170bhp. It s a straight fit on the gearbox?
@@andreimarianiov3375 good question tbf but the standard 320 engine won't have the character of that enhanced n45..or do you mean 320si engine into a normal 320i car?
@@patrickbateman7122i think its plug and play, because the n46 have the valvetronic system but n45 dont. and you should remove your original ecu and put a standalone. I think its the only way.

the driver is very smooth and relaxed. Too bad it doesn't have a real clutch and third pedal
well, in a modern racing car you can't think that people change gears still by hand... ;-)
@Ted Schultz Look better, the driver clearly uses clutch+h&t on downshifts.
It is still MECHANICAL sequential gearbox. The only aid he has is throttle cut on up-shifts.
Even if it was original E90 WTCC H-pattern gearbox, you don't have to use clutch on upshifts due to the nature of dog-gears.
