Such Good Memories! Mighty Ducks was one of my childhood favorites.

d1 and d3 have real lasting arcs for bombay and charlie...what the hell was d2 but filler?..seriously...d1 and d 3 changed the characters..d2 is literally about cheese

I love the mighty ducks. As a child, I watched almost exclusively D2 because I was a huge Julie “the cat” Gafney fan. As an adult while D2 is probably still my favorite I have grown to appreciate the original film more as well. D3 is fine watching it as an adult, I think that it would have made more sense if it was truly a college film, it always seemed to have that vibe and much of the ridiculous parts of it seems to be trying to explain that they aren’t in college.
I like to call Bombays boss in the first movie Mr. Sucksworth. As if getting busted for dui wasn't bad enough which granted was his own fault he gave Bombay a leave of absence on top of it all. I would imagine by the time the third movie came out he was allowed to drive again.

As a hockey player the first two movies were gospel growing up and the third was just kinda there. The actual in game stuff isn’t really accurate but the characters are all super fun and they’re entertaining as hell. I’m interested to see how the new series goes but one of the hockey players from Letterkenny is the new Ducks coach so that’s cool

My science teacher was an extra in the first movie.
The Movie Franchise that got me into becoming a hockey fan! Love them as a kid and still love them to this day as an adult.
All 3 movies rock and kick ass. Towards the end of D3 I was thrilled that Dean Portman came back to give the villainous enforcer Cole on the Warriors what he clearly deserved. For those of u that have seen the third movie u know what I'm talking about. Or if it's been forever since you've seen it go see it again. Adam Banks is really the one character that I felt sorry for throughout the trilogy. In the first movie he's on the Hawks and because he was such a good player league rules decided he should be a Duck instead and Bombay agrees. Then in D2 he gets nailed in the wrist with the hockey stick by a very aggressive player on the Iceland team. In D3 it was the old switcheroo with Banks like it was in the first movie. Banks was just being taken advantage of just because he was such a good player and that's why he kept getting switched. He went from being on the Ducks to being traded to the Varsity Warriors and then traded back to the Ducks. I was just like good effing lord make up your mind what team you want this poor kid to play for. It just annoyed tf out me.

I watched all three of these in the theater. I was just starting Junior High when I saw the first one, finishing junior high when the 2nd one came out and was starting my junior year of high school when the third one came out. I totally agree with your thoughts on the third one, I always felt that it was totally unnecessary. It felt more like a high school movie and not a hockey movie. I watched Mighty Ducks GameChangers earlier this year and absolutely loved it. Your rankings are almost identical to mine.

I loved these movies growing up, I’m 19 so I wasn’t around when they were released but my dad was and had the DVD box set so I constantly watched all them growing up
Loved the franchise. Became a ducks nhl fan after. I just bought the anniversary hoodie

D2 is so underrated. By far the funniest IMO
To this day it is still unknown why Brandon Adams who played Jesse Hall didnt return for D3. Some possible reasons I read about are that he was arrested shortly after D2 for i dont know what or maybe he moved away.

I loved all three when I was a kid. Especially the third one.
Although, couldn't rank them today since I haven't seen them in a while.
That said, did you know about the Mighty Ducks cartoon, with actual ducks instead of humans?

for me its d1 then d3 then d2..d2 is the worst of them but it has great scenes and moments and fun..but it feels very fillery with meandering and little development....it did not earn its run time is my issue..the other 2 did...theres character arcs in 1 and 3...2 feels like its trying to make you care the same way but theres no real arc written to ground it all for bombay or charlie or russ or the new kids..or banks or iceland even....its just things that happen..the film should be focused on this rivalry between the old ducks and new ducks and them having issues so then in the end they come together making that halftime speech and duck jersey reveal mean more..the issue is they built it up to that moment but the team has not had much in fighting..its just they played poorly..not cause they don't get along....so the drama feels very forced and not set up well...it just becomes about who is playing better and thats not interesting...the payoff thus falls short too..and they squeeze in this bombay and assistant coaches love triangle plot with barley any development or scenes and its just awkwardly done and means nothing...and the hendrix stuff was so boring....thank god for the whoop there it is scene..without that 30+ straight minutes of this film would be pointless garbage

And I wouldn't be surprised if I'd feel the same way if I'd rewatch all three movies today.
I'll do it sometimes, but there are too many movies and TV shows to watch today.

Watched the animated series from the 90s earlier this year on Disney + as well as mighty ducks game changers. Enjoyed both of them,

The guy who taught the kids to skate, also was a Disney animator, is in all 3 movies. He's the referee in the first two and the varsity coach in the third.
These movies are love letters to enforcers. People who aren't big hockey fans tend to miss that message.

Maybe. I don’t think I’ll like it as much as Cobra Kai though, because I really liked The Mighty Ducks, but strongly disliked the sequels since they were so similar to the original.

I watched them again in high school and I actually really really like Mighty Ducks 3. I don't know, I just like it a bit more than Mighty ducks 2.
Gotta love the Bash Brothers! "Party!!"
I love the first movie but D2 and D3 I love way more. There's no bash brother party action in the first movie..I mean yeah we get Fulton but there's no Dean Portman until D2 and eventually he makes a surprise comeback towards the end of D3. The more bash brother action and crashing and banging players on the opposing team the better. The best part in D3 is when Portman causes the villainous enforcer Cole on the Warriors to go flying through the glass. That punkass got what he deserved for sure. You da man Portman!! Two thumbs up!!

I enjoy the second one a lot. I watched it in a crowed room once and it was so much fun and really hyped up.
The first movie was a month and a half older than I am. The movie came out October 1992 and my birthday is December 5, 1992
Well me being some one who didn’t grow in the nineties with this franchise and who only watched the movies for the first time for the series I was pleasantly surprised by all three and I think it’s a decent trilogy on it’s own right

Team USA's got on new uniforms, their wearing the logo of the duck, there is no rule against changing uniforms, now we have the USA Ducks.
I watched the animated series earlier this year and loved it.
Anyone else a hockey goalie that grew up with these movies?
This movie is another one of the weird sports trilogies of the 80s and 90s where the 1st movie is very ground level, 2nd movie shoots way up to the top in competition, 3rd actually settles to a lower level than the 2nd. How do you go from peewee, to junior Olympics, to JV high-school? Movies just felt out of order. They could just as easily done peewee, JV high-school, and then finished on an U18 Olympics team. Right now I have no idea what age they were supposed to be in the 2nd movie. If you're telling me they're middle school aged you're crazy no way those bash brothers were in 8th grade in the 2nd movie.

Grew up with them and they were my childhood! Iconic sport film franchise until the 3rd haha. Game Changers....meh but at least it had Coach Bombay!

Number 1 is the original film the mighty ducks it is the best in the series the next best is D3 I love this movie and have so many memories watching it growing up D2 is the worst in the series it's silly and it's not as good as D1 and D3

Just watched them all for the first time this week, and they just get worse as they go along. Solid pieces of 90’s Disney, but not exactly great stuff
