Good day Boy I am getting behind with your videos. This one makes me think I would dealer do it. Cleaniness, but I guess it's better leaking or tearing it apart again. Thanks

The felpro gasket sets are the best you can get

Looks a hell of a lot easier this way than doing it with the engine in the tractor and the crankshaft in the way 😆

I'm wondering if any sealant got pushed into the oil channel when the cap was torqued down.

@Chris-ec9lc if you're referring to the oil feed passage, no. That hole is at top of bore far away from sealer.

So if I am getting this right, you added the rubber seal instead of the rope seal in the larger groove.?? did this work out for you?

The rubber seal replaces the rope seal. This engine still hasn't been started yet. Did the same method on my 861-D 10 years ago and it does not leak.

When I look up this part number it comes up as an automotive seal is that correct?

Yes. They were used on many cars and trucks back in the day. I actually got mine from Napa.

Also my 861-D was done the same way on the side seals, can't remember if it has a rope seal or rubber seal but it doesn't leak either. That was 10 years ago.

@@chickenhousemechanic well your applications is very similar to mine, and there is no information at all on the internet blogs or youtube videos about how to reinstall the string seal on the rear bearing cap for a Ferguson TO30. someone a lot more knowledgeable than myself told me if I dont replace that seal it will leak, and the front and rear went a long time ago for previous owner and you can imagine the clean up. but the gasket rebuild from Jensales came with a handfull bundle of string that is what I need to use so I was trying to see if there was any alternatives or improvements to this operation that would work since there is no information at all about correct installation of this. thats why I wondered how what you did has worked for a long period of time. thanks
