The problem is with us Sanatanis. We do not explain Ramayana, Mahabharata to our children. My mother used to read these Holy books and explain to me as a child. That is why I already knew most of the things when I watched BR Chopra's version. I knew everything about Deepavali, Dushera, Holi, Durga Ashtami etc . As a child, my Hindu friends knew zero about them. We need to involve our children in prayers and take them to Temples as well. Jai Jai Shree Ram !!

I studied in christian school … everyday we had bible reading, three prayers to lord jesus, we were everytime reminded to thank jesus by taking his name, pastor used to give us speeches every Tuesdays… but being a Maratha.. I strongly believe no one can convert me… I listened to my two muslim besties and ignored them to not hurt their feelings.. but coming home and knowing the sacrifices of our Maharaj , i was always thankful to be a hindu. Thanks to my parents teachings on swaraja establishment that no one could influence me although i gave all ears to their opinions.

I was educated in a Christian Missionary School, had friends who were Christians, Muslims, Parsis, Sikhs and acquaintances who were Jews as well. The two things that kept me grounded in my religion through all this were 1. A simple statement by my father, who was a judge, “ your religion, is like your mother, while other religions are like your aunts” made it simple to understand because if at any point, my mother was going to be threatened by my aunt, I would have nothing to do with that aunt!! 2. Another important thing was my parents support and assurance that no matter what I did- right or wrong, good or bad, I could always trust them and tell them everything without fear. I never ever hid anything from my parents.
Being a Muslim in a convent school we went to the church, attended masses chanted Christian prayers but never regretted to know about a particular religion. Our faith was strong so we took knowledge but did not get influenced that got converted. It's all about belief system. I think this lady has a poor belief on Hinduism😢

Back home, I was on a visit to Qutub Minar in New Delhi where a group of Arab tourists were going around and a local guide was showing them around. I have studied in convent school and used to feel proud of it..I have put my son in a school where they teach gita as part of curriculum and teach kids to greet by saying Hari Om ..initially I was in dilemma but now I feel my son who was not interested in speaking in hindi and still not comfortable yet is becoming a nationalist and has this strong feeling that anything Indian is better than anything western..I also kind of tell him about the scientific things in our ancient culture which I am also learning and exploring now..how these western countries were built to an extent on the wealth plundered from India..

This happens in real life..In my college, I have seen these boys of peaceful community always behind Hindu girls.. they called muslim girls as their sisters.. Both I and my roommate had these boys asking us out.., but both of us were v clear where to draw a line.. Friendship is fine.. nothing more..I was a v secular person in my student life ..but somewhere I always knew no religion will give me as much freedom and peace of mind as Sanatan Dharma

Teach the core of Hinduism to your kids - parabrahma, purusharthas, arishadvargas, samsara cycle and the basics of Sanskrit language, the Bhagavadgita (not just reading but understanding).
This is Dharmic tradition.
Just narrating puranic epics n stories won’t suffice. There are good lessons in Ramayana but knowing the core philosophy is important

The real problem of all these situations are because of not having the knowledge of Hindu scriptures.
