    Such a down-to-earth guy!
Nonbikers would never guess that he's a world-class champ.

So awesome to make this and show it’s okay to not have thousands of dollars of big name brand tools just to do the same job. Thank you for the content, the cockpit setup and this are super helpful!

Locktite, a selection of random bolts, a bit of cash and snacks with a long shelf life have all saved the day a number of times!

I think an important tool to carry would be a Derailleur hanger tool and or a spare hanger. If you have a bad crash, that can really bend a hanger and make shifting nearly impossible, and you can oftentimes bend it back.

Nice video. I also carry a bunch of tools too for mountain biking repairs and maintenance. Fixed friends bikes on a few occasions. Always good to be prepared.

Cheers for making the video Aaron - The only thing I might add would be a soft bristle brush as I use one regularly this time of year for quickly brushing the bulk of the mud off my bike immediately after a ride before it has had time to dry on. Also I would be tempted to replace the pliers with a knipex plier wrench instead.

  • @MTB_Gam
    @MTB_Gam 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I couldn't agree more on the digital guage. :)
What I would add to your list are: A derailler hanger, a tubeless valve, a valve core, a quick link chain plier and a pair of nitril gloves
Brake pads spacer for thoses removing front wheel like me.
Are phillips screwdriver still required theses days, perhaps not, but think about it if your bike has phillips screws and your multitools doesn't have

In your kit ride, if you travel far as I do.
1st aid compression tape , bailing Wire and Zip ties..
And an extra shifter cable as you said. Believe me it will save you and your escape. But simple tools required . Mine's on trail is a bag of 2lbs. Ya gotta also help the Helpless..😉🙄

Great mtb tool bag video Aaron. I am going to lighten up my tool box and switch to a bag. I also carry an extra 12spd chain with a ziptie around the link that I will need to break for my bike chain length but leave it longer in case another rider needs a chain. Love the wheelie wrench too as my every ride carry.

Very comprehensive video, I was waiting for the headset press after you showed us the headset. Unless I missed it, maybe a small torque wrench 2 -8nm for those carbon parts.

Try out an electricians bag. All your tools are vertical, on display and in a staggered rack. Some are double sided too. Can be worn like a handbag up a ladder, or hung on a tree branch

Great vid Aaron. I use a very similar selection of tools, but I have them in a tool till which keeps them apart and rolls up to a very similar size as your took bag. But your reasoning for what you take and why you leave it in the truck is spot on.

Today I learnt fox factory riders don't get a shock pump with their fork. I would've assumed sponsored pro's would have a bunch of those lying around. Also shout out to Joe's here in Europe's Joe's if half the price of other branded sealants.
