This was the first mall that I had to stop and say......... ENOUGH..... I had to return a second time to enjoy the rest of the mall....... one word ..... OVERWHELMING....... Dubai should have the motto....... "GO BIG OR GO HOME". This country cannot be denied.....An amazing place to visit.

Hi Pai! As an old Dubai local, an ex food blogger and a subscriber to your channel I have a few random extra pieces of information about the food you tried that you might find interesting: at Arabesq in Dubai Mall, the hot drink you tried is often also called white coffee (even though it has no coffee in it) and is often served as digestif in the afternoon or after dinner. The 'flower' in it is orange blossom water, an ingredient common to desserts and drinks in the Levant (it is currently also a trendy fragrance in British and French perfumeries) . Also the ice cream you had was made with a traditional Levant tree resin/gum called mastiq - its why the ice cream is so chewy (literally cream thickened with gum) and tastes so floral and woodsy. Also , far cheaper tickets for the Burj Khalifa are available online if you pre-book, or else make friends with someone who has an apartment in the building for the personal touch. On your next trip here, I'd also recommend trying some traditional 'down home' Middle Eastern and South Asian specialties in old Dubai and perhaps some camel milk ice cream! xx

You'll find that tickets for 'View from the top' (Burj Khalifa) are cheaper online and booking well in advance, and not for the prime time hours. I'm glad you enjoyed UAE. Next time if you get the chance to come again, be sure to check out many of the attraction in UAE and Oman.

One very common ingredient is these ice creams is Mastic Mastica or Arabic gum or Tears of Chios (Greece) also used in Turkish/Greek coffee. Please if you could kindly try some recipes with it, now since you have visited the Middleeast. I hope it has inspired you and hope that you will take us to new adventures with food to different parts of our planet. Turkey would be amazing, being the mother of middle eastern foods. Well done, we love your videos. Sawadee khap. Sawadee pee Mai (2018)

oh my god. I’ve been to that iraqi restaurant when i visited Dubai not too long ago. I knew it looked so familiar! I had almost everything you ordered and yessss the bread!! ah. it’s divine. i tried that butterfly fish you showed and it was alright, not really something I’d get again lol. and one more thing. the booza/ice cream you had, the guy mentioned that it had sahlab in it, which is orchid root powder. it originated from turkey but it’s illegal(?) to export it out because the immense demand of the product. i dunno, but my point it most ‘non-authentic’ sahlab ( even in some parts of turkey ) use a mix of starches, sugar, and rose or orange blossom water, so that’s possibly why you tasted something floral in the ice cream. ( I had the same one btw lol ). Have you tried eataly in dubai mall?

It's amazing, thank you for sharing your journey! I went to Dubai too, and found so much of it are big brands and shopping in general. Sadly, when I look at malls today, I am reminded how they are so far away from our natural habitat and how capitalism affects our environment in so many ways. I pretty much think we're screwed as far as climate change.
