    ghag sounds nice,
if you wish to use solid steel , there is a way, \
for 356 cal you use 11/32" carbon steel ball bearing.
and it will ride inside the rifleiing and shoot quite nicely, at velocities above what you would expect since steel is lighter than lead, and it is basically a steel bb for .356cal. you can locate them in a game target with a magnet for removal. smiles. therules for steel are these,
if it rolls it will shoot, roll them all first.
a thousand rounds carbon steel 11/32" will cost about 53 bucks on ebay.
    just sayin...
    the last word

Thanks for the info. I like the lead slug because of the weight, but love the steel tip that maximizes penetration.

@@backyardairguns oh fo sure that will give penetration,
and the weight will help and it being lead will lube the thing being penetrated like metal.
bt certain thngs need otheroptions, like a silver penetrater in the middle, or solid metal. for certain things( be careful of steel on steel and it ricochetting back)
and in some hollow points a chemical chain can do things like a bit of magnetic ferrite and magnesium powder and phos powder with a small percussion cap on the tip of the hollowpoint to ignite it and burn through stuff melting the lead.
or those german snap pops cut open and the crystals put into the hollow and a bb stuck into it for a small pop of an explosion when it hits the target.
smiles. the steel penetrater is only the beginning friend.

Impressive power and penetration, but accuracy is nothing to write home about.
And there is NO substitute for bullet placement.

The 5-shot groups at 50 yards were grouping at about 1.5 inches. This variation was most likely due to the shooter (me :-) ), and Not the slug. This is not a 100-yard benchrest slug, but I think it would be great for big bore hunting rifles.

I couldn't agree with you more buddy I been saying that for 2 years or more now when these airgun been coming out with guns over a hundred foot pounds and more and now basically every airgun can shoot these big ass slugs bullets) and I would always comment to these guys posting there videos bragging about the power it's putting out and I would say to them that they shouldn't be posting that content because eventually your gonna get the wrong viewers watching it and airgunning isn't gonna be the same anymore, everybody is gonna need background checks and registry like real firearms. But they don't listen and believe me it's just a matter of time.

Hmm…not bad but certainly not super accurate and they seem like they would just blow through a deer with minimal energy transfer.
