Yeah I’ve been calling her a “certified Three hater” among my friends. That being said, YEARS ago she heard some of Infinitely Gray and was like “I like this” so maybe there’s hope for redemption if we end up doing Niigo.

Yeah the completely different perspective is what makes this so interesting. I can appreciate a good frantic WxS song (Ego Rock being “too frantic” hurt me personally), but it makes total sense for someone of her demographic to not be into it. The fact that more songs were viewed positively than not is enough for her to understand the appeal of the group overall.

Thank you! I seem to have her on board to doing all 5 units as long as we spread them out about 2-3 months apart. Niigo seems to be next based off the currently live community tab poll. Once we do all 5 I might make a compilation video that at the end compares the stats of how many positive, neutral, and negative songs each group had- factoring averages of some kind because the last group will have significantly more songs judged making it unfair to judge those results with this video’s results straight on. That’d probably be all the way out in August though so I have plenty of time to think it through.

Yeah I’d say both my parents were very big on raising me on appreciating music (my late father was very into guitars- owning 3). Specifically an appreciation for their taste in it, but their taste was broad enough that I mostly just missed out on 2000s contemporary pop music until I was old enough to discover it for myself. I 100% believe my interest in Vocaloid music came from their taste influencing my taste (which means Ego Rock being in D is me developing my own taste different than hers, while Potatoes being 3rd is that influence staying strong in other areas). Also, do you want the full list of artists that couldn’t fit in the bubble? I tried selecting who I thought was most representative and at least somewhat diverse when I narrowed it down. There’s A LOT that got cut.

That song being so low baffles me too. That’s why it’s one of the few I commented on because surely her issue with it had to be a headphone audio quality issue. It’s either that or her ears are legitimately damaged from listening to music way too loud and thus overly sensitive to the bass beat in it. I’d personally put it in like low A tier despite having mixed feelings on it (love how it sounds/is sung, hate the line distribution of sharing reincarnations when the game cut wouldn’t have been too long with the 4 from the verses included instead).

If you’re serious I would advise dividing it into chunks and also doing only game cuts. It can get really tiring if you try to go at it all at once, but I had to find the balance between break times allowed and doing them quickly because of her age related memory problems.
I think it’s part luck of the draw for me and part my mom not wanting to be like her older sister so she’s more “relaxed”. She’s always taken some pride in being the mom her kids’ friends wished was their mom because she’s so approachable.
