Ikr, most of them actually look like a ps1 game but others look a bit like this lol. I think it's mainly because of the inconsistency in polygons and resolution, and tbh, as a game developer who wants to recreate this kind of graphics, maintaning consistency is fucking hard when you're starting
“Now we’re in a new cart that crashes in 5 seconds.” When I was a kid I was always bothered by that. It’s faster and looks cooler but the next moment we lose it in a scripted event.
0:11 the art in the middle makes it look like stellar is a villain in a cartoon with an assistant (richter) who is just some guy he got off a college campus
It's probably wrong but I somehow like the overall low-quality aesthetics. I've been corrupting games for years now and it's often how stuff end up looking after a while (especially the floating door & other various unexpected bugs). Awesome video, I really enjoy these kinds of challenges.
At first I was laughing at richter not knowing that the literal water level came next after saying "there's no water in this part of the game" until I realized I knew Half Life like the back of my hand and maybe I should be the one being laughed at
I love how in the first episode he started in regular half life and was ready to just have a regular half life experience which then quickly went down hill
Honestly I played half life 1 when I was super young and was lin love. I ended up recently getting gifted a super old laptop that wasn't ment to run games and I said screw it. And ran half life just like this. All I wanted was a nostalgia high and it definitely worked because I had a great time. Even looking like a rotted potato chopped up into a bunch of bits yet still tasted of fine cooked A1 waygu steak. The half life gameplay will always feel great even with shit graphics
Watching this genuinely made me feel like I was about to cry, yet I couldn’t stop watching it I’m not even invested in the Half-Life series or anything, so I don’t know why it had that effect on me
7:37 It's the rocket of HEV recharging. Next time you hear that 'zee, zee, zee, zee" sound, this is what it really means. Or was it health recharging that males the "zee zee" sound? It's like one of those games that attempts a PS1 aesthetic and fails.
tbh i dont hate it
Never seen a single game like that

it kinda looks like a n64 game
Fails in choice of textures, polygon count and the vibe itself
The Ichthyosaur just straight up looks like the TF2 bread monster.
Yea, I always called the Ichthoyosaur "garlic bread" because I could never remember it's name.
I was gonna comment the same thing lmao.

@BugSrc λ Good editing, but please turn off resampling next time.
wow after all these years I thought it was "I see it", like "yup, that's our man. we got em"
I always thought the soldier says "I see it" instead of "Nice hit" :o

Can confirm this is what the world looks like when I don't wear my glasses
Sometimes when I take my glasses off I get teleported to the half life/portal universe too
It's at 69 likes I wont ruin it
This version of the game takes place in a timeline where Gordon forgot his glasses
Damn you get transported to minecraft whenever you take off your glasses.
Man I don't see nothing wrong. This is just how half life source looks like
The only thing that port is good for is gmod content lol
Actually it sometimes happens to me on win98 goty version of half life
Oh please shut up
Even though this is a joke, you are technically not wrong. This is what Half-Life source looks like

This is literally how the community describes Half-Life: Source.
edit: i know that this is Half-Life: Source...
or how the game looks with the hd models
And their not wrong
seeing the reply chain this community really can't take a joke.
@A Isopod a metal hoop becomes a chain when you simply add another hoop, so I suppose two would be enough to be a chain.
Every time another command is added Richter gets closer to the config of a pro TF2 player

I have no idea why but that one section in residue processing is always prone to source fuckery in both hlsource and black mesa
For the masochist people here, I will say that most of these commands exist in all source games, so you can do this to hl2, portal, tf2, etc.
