@Simonio8 If that's true, then that is truly inspiring. Knowing that and watching this video makes me believe that tournaments like this aren't just for entertainment, but they can be life changing for all those involved. Simply amazing.
what everyone doesn't know is that Fuudo's mother was very sick at the time of Evo, but instead of using her savings to buy medicine (which was very expensive), she used her money to fund Fuudo's trip to America because she believed in her son so much, she was willing to bet her life. She made Itabashi promise to look after him in America but alas, he fell before Poongko. Itabashi thought he let Fuudo and his mother down, thus the emotional tears of joy when Fuudo defeated Poongko and win EVO
@Chaldean4life91 Not just that. He beat Poongko from Korea, and Japan and Korea have has this rivalry/animosity towards each other for some time now, so with Fuudo being the last Japanese player up against Poongko from Korea. A great deal of national pride was on the line. Then there's the fact that ItaZan, like Fuudo is also a Virtua Fighter player.
For those who didnt understand why that guy cried, Its because it's like watching your friend to other country competing for a Major Class Tournament(think off NBA Championship).
@TheBf666 no...he looks emotional. he looks like Fuudo just won the Olympics for Japan or something. he doesnt look like hes in a laughing mood at all.
there is clearly a big friendship between those 2, we don't know what the real store might be, probably Fuudo needed the money real bad and Itabashi was the only one who knew about it, any of the Fuudo interviews he always mentioned that his best friend is Itabashi, they probably considered each other as brothers, we are all humans after all, what seems ridiculous to some isn't to others.
Yea how was itazan in tokyo and evo? Those crafty wizards.. But yea man this is a nice video, his boiboy just one an international tournament id cry too damn
He was not crying for fuudo. He was laughing at poongko's gambling style idiocy that caused him the match. He laughed so hard that It literally brought him to tears. I was laughing when that happened as well. It was even more hilarious because he just beat daigo ,and it was his turn to get blown up.
Damn if Seth would be like this on Arcade Mode, not many people would finish it... trololo "After only Perfect on Master difficulty, Poongko difficulty (Prepare to bleed...)"
@TheBf666 Can't say i disagree. But no need to put down a player because his style doesn't suit your tastes. There is no right or wrong way to play the game, only the best way. And for Poongko the best way to play Seth is in the manner seen at evo. That's actually why i love and hate SF so much. I love how not one person plays the same, but i hate working to figure out how each one plays, haha.
itabashi zangief lost to poongko, Poongko won showdown. Fuudo win's Evo and beats poongko. Itabashi zangief gets revenge and has a manly cry.even i would cry if my best friend won evo
For those who didnt understand why that guy cried, Its because it's like watching your friend to other country competing for a Major Class Tournament(think off NBA Championship).
I've met Itabashi in person at OHN14. You can tell straight away he's a genuinely nice dude. Easily one of my favourite people in the SF community.
You can tell how sweet he is just because of how much fun he has while playing, whether he wins or loses. My kind of guy.
King Heracy the way he plays gief makes him a A Hole
Itabashi's reaction is as beautiful as Fuudo's victory. That was just beautiful and it was well deserved. :)
Itabashi Zangief ,one of the best Gief forever!!!
Hand in there and hope to see you in 2012!!!!!!
Amazing match!! Its been 2 years and still makes me hype
This is an awesome video
Priceless video ! Thanks for sharing !!
Best bromance since Mike Ross and Gootecks! Shoutouts to Fuudo for being beast. EVO 2K12 cant come soon enough! :)
I heard Fuudo needed the money for family issues which is why Itabashi is crying, for the fact hes helping his family ect. Not sure if its true or not
joel66666 he told Zhi if his English was better he'd play other gambling games. If you needed money I don't think you'd gamble it away.
@Simonio8 If that's true, then that is truly inspiring. Knowing that and watching this video makes me believe that tournaments like this aren't just for entertainment, but they can be life changing for all those involved. Simply amazing.
Itabashi is such a kind person
This is actually quite amazing. They must care for each other a lot.
This is so genuine.
thats really nice to see man, PASSION!
Awesome video
Man, I fuckin love Japan and the fighting game community. That was so touching when Itabashi cried.

best kind of friends a man could ever have
jeez...
Emotivo, impresionante la pasión por un juego.
You know that's for all the people after the earthquake incident. if i ever won evo, I would donate the money to japan too. Show respect
Who says real men dont cry. The bonds of friendship truly are amazing.
Agree, and a just a video game make this friendship.
This just show how much pride Japanese have for their people and the game...

Itabashi, what a bro.
What one would give for friends like that.
tears of hype if u ask me. i respect
@dantecry12 Fuudo and Itabashi are best friend, they play in the same team in Virtua Fighter for years
For those who didnt understand why that guy cried,
Its because it's like watching your friend to other country competing for a Major Class Tournament(think off NBA Championship).
I agree Mike Ross!!

I also love how it goes at 2:12
Guy at right: Shi ne shi ne!?! (Dead? Dead?)
Guy in Crowd: Shi ne!!!! (Dead!!)
板橋ザンギエフが泣かない、fuudoが強すぎる。彼が病気から復活した
@TheBf666
no...he looks emotional. he looks like Fuudo just won the Olympics for Japan or something. he doesnt look like hes in a laughing mood at all.
Why have those Kayo cosplay videos over there on on the right got 50K views when this only has 10? This video is better than EVO Moment #37!!
yeah, tears of joy for fuudo (sniff)
MANLY TEARS BRO. MANLY TEARS
Thats a dude proud of his homie gg btw

DAT HYPE
@Luke07fr
LOL temper, hahaha. I am glad that you know me so well.
@dragonfirelee
Top 3 or not, it still doesn't change the fact that the mistakes he made during this match was comical.
O_O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn if Seth would be like this on Arcade Mode, not many people would finish it... trololo
"After only Perfect on Master difficulty, Poongko difficulty (Prepare to bleed...)"
MODOK: "Cry for me!"
Poongko was so angry he lost. he wanted to punch fuudo.in the head. loool
@Simonio8 Thats touching...but if all that is true then why is itabashi shown here doing commentary in tokyo if he went with fuudo to america for evo?
i hope fuudo and itabashi fuck shit up at SBO, i also hope america can make it out of the first round
@TheBf666 That's how you use Seth effectively, he's gotta gamble with so little health.
LOL!!! This is hilarious.
I don't understand something. When Fuudo won this match , he didn't win the tournament, just the Winner Bracket. Final of Evo 2011 was Latif vs Fuudo.
@SuperMyNoob Oh no wonder, i thought it was a little bent him crying like that
LOOOL
@Simonio8 ummm you got any proof? I just want to find more about that story..please
aawww :)
that was gdlk
Itabashi have a similar face to GRANDRODEO vocalist
TSUNAMI OF FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@kite0impulse Believe it or not, but flying to the U.S. is not free. No pun intended.
@TheBf666 Well, his "gambling style idiocy" got him top 3 at evo...
@Nariz2000 I lold.
@Simonio8 cool story bro
Its guy love, thats all it is...
:)
ok batman
となりだれやねん
not like a boss
@coastalmixx Hahahahaa
Can you cry for your friend's effort ?
wtf he's actually crying, maybe he needed the money bad.
I'm sure the dude wouldn't just cry over a game.
the reason is it is culture. Asians are more emotional and i dare say act more feminine compared to the west.
on second thoughts itabashi might be gay- although there is nothing wrong with that.
For those who didnt understand why that guy cried,
Its because it's like watching your friend to other country competing for a Major Class Tournament(think off NBA Championship).
