      The state is a violation of 2a. Asking permission to carry and protect yourself is insane. Then you gotta pay to exercise your right, testing, insurance, re-test every 2yrs and more money. God forbid you actually have to defend yourself and you use firearm. Probably get arrested, yrs in court and lose gun rights, if not worse.

      We know this, but the legislators in NJ simply don’t care and the people of New Jersey have been so repressed with respect to firearms rights that they cannot fight these unconstitutional laws.

      @ron8566 would help if everyone stopped voting Blue, and made NJ a normal state. That would be a start, after Trump is elected. Otherwise, criminals will always have an advantage and they know it cause our gun laws make zero sense to anyone, especially the one's who made the rules.

    As a 16 year disabled veteran, 18b
    The NJ State Police should provide Trenton with a lass on ballistics and ammunition
    In NJ, you are allowed to carry a polymer filled defensive round AND a FMJ
    But no traditional hollow point
    Now, we are allowed to carry the the FMJ which is more dangerous as it over penetrates and can go through its intended target and harm or kill an innocent bystander
    Makes no sense at all over a traditional hollow point, which we are not allowed to carry
    Because law enforcement can?
    No difference in my opinion between a polymer filled defensive load and a traditional hollow point
    However we live in a state that doesn’t know much surrounding this subject area nor cares for respecting the the 2A and Bruen

      Its because of some stupid ass law back in the 1800s when police started to wear leather body armor the hollow points would rip and pierce it. Been a law ever since and the state doesnt seem to want to change it

    No matter what you use a prosecutor will attack you for it. If you use FMJ they will say you’re using military grade ammo. If you use hallow points they will say you use ammo designed to inflict as much damage as possible. My recommendation is to find out what ammo your local police use and use that. That way if you ever are forced to use your firearm in self defense being able to say “it’s the same ammo our police use and it prevents over penetration” will sit well with the jury.

I hope your video helps people get over their fear of ammo, just as it’s getting me to overcome my fear of getting my ccw, 😅. I Have to get past a huge hurdle first. I’d be careful with the Critical Duty’s. When I watch ballistic testing on them and read about them they are made for shooting through walls and barriers which means they could shoot straight through someone and hit an unintended target. Always do what you feel safe with but I’d go with the Critical Defense for the 1st mag and the Critical Duty in the backup mag because if you get in a situation that actually requires you to reload…it means you’re in a full blown shootout and now you likely have to shoot through barriers to stop the threat…but in the beginning of the gunfight there’s likely no barriers between you and the threat but there may be unintended targets around. Just my thought. But always do what you feel is best for you and yours.

    So wait a second, so defensive rounds like the Hornady defense and Duty rounds, were those polymer fillings specifically made for restrictive States like New Jersey, or were they just meant to not clog because this is the first time I heard this, and I have only seen ballistic gel test videos with these rounds featured and often I hear the people making those videos say that they believe the polymer fillings were meant to just not clog with clothing, but I never heard anybody say anything about these being qualified rounds in restrictive jurisdictions like the state of New Jersey? So were those rounds designed like that to qualify in restrictive jurisdictions, or did they already exist for other reasons and happen to be approved afterwards?
    I happen to not live in a restricted state and my defensive ammo of choice is all federal HST in all of my carry rotation ccw's. And I do find it really messed up and hypocritical and double standard that the state of New Jersey thinks it's ethical to let their law enforcement use these rounds against civilians but they think it's unethical for civilians to use it.

      In NJ you can and will be arrested and charged if you are caught with just one round of HP ammo in your car or on your person. The exceptions are very limited, so if yiu are not going to a range,pr back home from where you purchased them you are in violation . And it is the HP bullet not the round that is defined and you can also be arrested for one of those HP bullet key rings. Another grey area, is transporting ammo of any kind, will you be arrested for just carrying ammo or a full magazine not complying to the few exemptions ?

    The best, better than any HPs out there: Lehigh/Underwood/Wilson Combat Xtreme Defenders, Ft. Scott TUIs, and G9 EHPs. While “EHP” stands for “external hollow-point,” they are solid copper, non-deformable, non-NJ-forbidden- “dum-dum” or “hollow-nose” rounds.
    All three of these rounds do NOT have a “hollow cavity at the tip,” and are NOT designed to and do NOT deform upon impact; they are thus legal to carry with a valid NJ PTC.
    *This is not legal advice.*

    The Underwood with the Philips head screwdriver looking tip does not expand. It is supposed to cause hollow point type wound cavities without expansion.
    It is good for borderline calibers that barely move fast enough to expand, like 38 Special or calibers that are barely powerful enough to get good penetration if expansion does happen, like with .380.
    I think they are probably a good idea for anything smaller or weaker than 9mm.

    This was a great topic for a video. The range I took my CCW course reviewed defense rounds for our carry guns, but I don’t think a lot of places do as a regular part of their curriculum. Every range should teach this, because there’s such a high chance of a full metal jacket round going right through the threat and could potentially hit someone. Personally I use Hornady defense rounds.

      That's the thing, they're undefined. The law allows you to have them in your home, and at the range, but the way it's written it's possession. In the case of a home intruder gunfight, you will most likely be raked over the coals by the district attorney, as it's not written that you can use them in a self defence situation.

    What the hell would you be carrying range ammo for in your concealed carry? As most of us should know, range ammo has much more penetration depth than hollow point does. The purpose of hollow point ammo is to increase stopping power, and containing penetration to the perpetrator, minimizing the danger of others nearby.

    Have you ever heard of anyone in NJ that has been involved in a self defense shooting charged with using unapproved ammo?
    The answer is "NO". Because the charge/law is so blatantly Unconstitutional the prosecution would rather drop the charges than risk losing the bad law in court.
    The same goes for Massachusetts, New York and California. The Unconstitutional charges are dismissed once it enters the courts.
    Read "Commonwealth of Massachusetts v. Dean F. Donnell" as a recent example. MA tried to charge a NH man for carrying a firearm without a MA permit into MA.
    The idiot MA prosecutor didn't drop the charges and continued on with it. The Judge essentially ruled "One's 2A rights don't stop being rights crossing a State border".
    The MA Prosecutor had their ass handed to them, and they didn't appeal the case to the next higher court..because they didn't want to lose their B.S. law.

    • @hmack8937
      @hmack8937 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is very interesting. So I live in PA right next to NJ. So are you saying that if I were to get pulled over in NJ with a valid PA license to carry, i could appeal my case to the federal courts and they would support me?

    • @wxfield
      @wxfield 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hmack8937 Not exactly. But a good 2A lawyer (which I strongly suggest you retain if you encounter this problem) would cite MA Commonwealth vs Donnell. The NJ court would then have to decide if they will throw out the charges against you, or potentially have you appeal a guilty verdict to a higher court..and risk losing to you. Once you win in that higher court..the law itself will be rendered untenable. Because the fact remains..your Constitutional Rights don't cease to exist because you crossed a State Line. Does your right to attend worship in another State end at the NJ border? Your right to Free Speech?..The 2nd amendment is an equal participant in the Bill of Rights..and cannot be denied you just because you travel across a border to another State. There's a case going on right now in New York that will force NY and MA to honor reciprocity in this regard.
