Momotaro is a Japanese fairy tale about a boy who’s born from a peach and he slays a demon with a dog, a pheasant, and a monkey at his side. It’s referenced in a lot of series including One Piece where it’s the inspiration for Momo.
@@DontObliteratetheCommenterno it’s not. Superman was designed based on carnival and circus style strongmen. Why do you think he always wears underwear on the outside?
Fun fact: Nearly everyone in the village is named after some sort of stone, rock, or mineral. “Kohaku” is Japanese for amber, “Kinro” and “Ginro” both contain the kanji for gold and silver when written, and “Kaseki” is Japanese for fossil. Just to name a few.
9:55 He actually did! The author confirmed that he escaped, and Chalk (the dog that Suika has) is probably his descendent. This is said on the QnA section of chapter 50.
Sounds plausible: it's 80-km (48-miles) between Tokyo & Hakone (where the hot-springs & the village are), and after 37-centuries, the dog's descendants would've made the journey. FYI: after re-watching the scene of the dog on the leash, I noticed that said leash is made of leather, which means that any dog can CHEW through it. So, there's the way it freed itself.
Chrome is my favorite character. You'll see why in future episodes. In the seventh episode he is trying science in the basic way, by trying to do everything. Chrome's knowledge is based on his experience on exploring, collecting and experimenting with all the interesting stuff he finds.
I legit watched ep 21 of s3 today where they called back to this episode and I was like OMG I JUST EDITED THAT 🤣 I loved the callback to it. I don’t want to say much more if you aren’t caught up to the anime
what i love about that series is the way it makes you realize how amazing our human history is and all we created and discovered, it's like a new perspective on humanity
For why Ramen and not Bread? The reason is Senku try to get the trust from the villagers by introducing them a delicious meal that no one can re-create at the time, so if they wanna eat the ramen they must come to Senku and willingly help him as the worker to pay him and continue to repeat this cycle, this is why he called it "Bait" because he the only one who have the recipe, ingredients and tutorial how to cook the ramen If he making a bread, baking a bread on hot stone will be too simple to be recreated again if people already saw how to make it, so he didn't make a bread for this specific reason, the complicated steps in making ramen is the key
@@xenobazilla Ramen is his fav tho but mah boi so rational he didn't think like that but because you said that i just realized the concept of asian and western food also gone after 3700 years, there's no rice fields or wheat fields either why i never realized this sooner!? They literally only eat fishes with nothing in the scene 😭
Actually making noodles is less complicated than making the tasty fluffy kind of bread we're used to (I bake). It requires yeast levening, and a gluten heavy wheat (foxtail millet isn't one of them) in order to get it to be anything more than a cracker. Don't get me wrong crackers are still awesome, and he has a leavening agent (essentially baking soda), but baking soda isn't what gives bread its flavor, it's yeast fermentation. He'd also have to wait significantly longer to get said yeast and to have the dough rise into something worth eating in a stone world setting. Same issue as the mold for penicilin that was mentioned before, it's kinda luck of the draw at the moment. So technically, ramen noodles themselves made this way are pretty simple to do (the modern variants aren't), and the broth can be made with the right savory ingredients. It's less about how complex it is and more about how difficult it would be to discern the entire recipe by looking at it.
Ep-7: In this episode (which corresponds to chapter-17 in the manga) we "meet" all 40 of the Villagers that Kohaku refers to. 2:58 From the point after Kohaku says "Welcome to my village", we see a montage of the different villagers, & if you count them, with Kohaku as #1, we get #2-4 (two black-haired girls & an older man w/beard & fish), the montage ends with villager#36, a stern-looking blonde man w/a black beard named Kokuyo (Kohaku's Dad & the Chief). When Senku attempts to step onto the bridge, he encounters #37 & #38 (Kinro & Ginro). After Senku freaks them out with the soap-bubble sorcery, we meet #39, Chrome. Later, we meet Villager#40, the lovely, yet mysterious, Ruri (Kohaku's Big Sis & the Village Priestess). The weird part is that they INCLUDE a handful of children, a handful of elderly, AND that little white dog as the "40-Villagers". The Manga includes a 2-page spread that looks like a mugshot-album or a school yearbook: each page has 20 individual portraits of these villagers & their names, all except for that NAMELESS BALD GUY WITH THE STAR-SHAPED SCAR ON HIS HEAD. 😉
@@haricoco-669 🤣...the anime always mentions "40-villagers", yet NEVER lists them, nor actually have them all called by name, except in the credits where they DO mention SOME of those other villagers.
Chrome is the BETTER INVENTOR than Senku: he comes up with stuff on his own (without prior knowledge) after learning the basic scientific principles, while Senku makes stuff that he ALREADY KNEW about & RE-created them.
Antibiotics are mainly just combinations of plant and animal molecules to an extreme level. Yeah, these days there are a lot of artificial stuff in there. But we've always used herbs to heal ourselves
I'm a New York City native and lived in the boonies of Florida for a period of time. Explaining to people who have never been to NYC what a "normal" day in Manhattan is like, blew their minds. They always compare it to the movies. From what you see, acquire and taste is on a whole different level. I could only what imagine what Chrome is thinking being born in this new Stone Age. (see what I did there?)
Bread requires yeast to be added to the dough and some time for it to ferment, pasta probably would have been quicker and more consistent to make (yeast bacteria can be found in plenty of places today, including even on your hands right now, but in this post-stone world it might be scarcer).
Enter Best Boy Chrome! Might be literally my favourite character in any piece of fiction. It is also the Superman origin.
Another thing to note is that the "momo" in Momotaro means "peach"
Especially since the story of Momotaro has the protagonist kill an ogre in Onigashima. Anyone familiar with One Piece knows that location.
Also inspiration for the original Admirals codenames
Akainu - Red Dog
Aokiji - Blue Pheasant
Kizaru - Yellow Monkey

Also, the tall thin guy w/long black hair & long beard is GENBU, also not named after a rock or mineral, but after an astronomical thing.
