Hey Paul, I live in North Central Florida. I installed about 11,000 sq ft of Zoysia grass... At least that what I paid for! I'm a bit unsure about what I got, because I've read that zoysia is drought tolerant... mine doesn't seem to be? Also, it was my understanding that it didn't grow vertically that fast... now that summer's here in Florida, I have to mow every week??? Also, would you mind advising me on the fertilizer for my area.. and how often I should fertilize? I'm enjoying your videos... thanks for the excellent content! Jack

The Lawn Apprentice the same thing I just did in the video.... spray out the weeds push NP&K ... then you can worry about things like peptides, Humic & kelp
@Paul, how many fungicide apps would you normally put out on tall fescue and if it was your yard how long would prefer to space them out ? When would you use the depth 10 + ?
Samuel Asamoah do NOT put preemergent on freshly laid sod ... what you want to worry about it getting the sod to put down roots , a preemergent would interfere with that. You can use a post emergent weed control after you get it established.... I would probably wait 4 to 6 months before using a preemergent on sod depending on how well it’s established

I recently laid down some Emerald Zoysia sod in my back and seeded the front with Emerald Zoysia back in May, but the top soil my guy brought before put the sod and seed had a lot of weed in it. The sod never fully took roots, but because the weeds are taking over in the front and back preventing the Zoysia to truly take roots. 1. How often should I water the Zoysia? 2. What do I need to do to get raid of the weeds which are preventing the Zoysia to grow? I need help, it doesn't appear that my lawn guy truly knows what to do. It's very frustrating. We just did another seeding with more top soil two weeks ago and a week later, I put some Scotts Starter Fertilizer, but the weeds are the biggest problem. Please, please, please, please help. I live in the Charlotte, NC area.
J H if it’s something that is required to be watered in immediately I will just turn it on ... if it just needs to be watered in eventually I just let the next cycle on the irrigation system catch it

J H it has pretty good movement into the leaves with the surfactant I use so I usually don’t worry about any water on Azoxystrobin for a day ... if it’s a full rate of propaconazoil I would rather get that off the plant and water it in
Va creeper is different than button weed ... va creeper looks more like poison Ivey.... I see creeper in beds and along fences and growing up houses.... glyphosate or glyphosate and triclopyr will take care of va creeper. Va button weed is in the turf what you kill that with will depend on what kind of grass you have
Well “coach” they can’t all be masterpieces. The take away from this was that in my area zoysia was responding well to a fertilizer with a mix of AMS and urea as the Nitrogen source and balanced P and K numbers ie 17-17-17 …. At the time I made the video 5 years ago the 2 fertilizers I mixed together were very popular …. So that was an easy way to accomplish the fertilizer I wanted for zoysia
The label says it helps in times of drought and stress and doesn't say anything about a temperature limit for application. It does mention 6oz as a maximum per 100 sq. meters.
@W Jack lol not to exceed 3 oz per k when temps are over 85. I assume that has to do with the kelp but I'm such a sad guy what do I know I'm just trying to pay the rent bru
It wasn’t over 85 that morning at time of the application.... I think the temperature warning on it has something to do with high heat degrading the kelp .... I have sprayed straight RGS concentrate out of the permagreen before with no ill effects.... hopefully I didn’t blow anything up

Can't stand zoysia, builder installed it when our house was built little over two years ago. It's never looked right and has spots that never grow. Never had this issue with St. Augustine or Floritam.

Thomas Anderson the zoysa plugs are an economic way to cover your lawn with zoysiagrass... be prepared zoysa spreads very slowly
