    To take a page from Doctor Who: there are fixed points in time and there are those that are in flux. The Nodes and the Paths respectively.
    Desmond broke the 12-12-2012 Node, but now Time is trying to correct that. To place back Humanity's expiration date. Humans have to gain to sense of Time that was not even installed in them. Many have a bit of it thanks to interbreeding with Isu generations ago. The Eagle Vision. And humans are chaotic enough to be able to fight the Code.
    Also, did not know that Bayek could not hear the messages.

    so is this the reason we have dialogue options and multiple endings in odyssey? Layla is learning how to read and change time?

  • @am4kar
    @am4kar 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    Which is exactly what Layla does when she enters Yggdrassil in Valhalla…
    You *were* onto something. :)

  • @jasonlal9570
    @jasonlal9570 3 ปีที่แล้ว +35

    *Spoiler:
    I'm here after the modern day ending of Ac Valhalla, and I'm just amazed by how spot on Tynamite's analysis is.
    In the ending of valhalla, we see Layla join desmond as they both are finally able to read time and read calculations in the world tree. We also see Layla suggest to Desmond to look at not just future timelines, but alternate ones as well, so maybe Layla and Desmond may choose an alternate timeline and become the 'authors' of the new time, and write the code for that new timeline where a catastrophe never happens.
    I struggled to understand the significance of the ending of AC Valhalla, but after looking back at origins and revisiting the ending, things are starting to line up now.

    • @Sumguyinavan_

    • @Pir-o
      @Pir-o 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      but that makes no sense...animus just creates simulation of memories. Its not time travel... It's like saying "if we change this historical movie it will change the pass as well". In Odyssey the explanation is "DNA is incomplete so you can improvise"

    • @tijera1234
      @tijera1234 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Assuming that there is a Canon explanation of which, Kassandra Or Alexios, you control.
      At the beginning of the game you can choose the DNA sequence you want too see. Alexios or Kassandra.

    I think Assassin's Creed Odyssey is more important than some of us think.
    "The reader has no power. He is but an observer."
    There will be an Assassin's Creed Odyssey novel that is considered canon with Kassandra as the main character, the story being told not from within the animus but from the actual time period like the novel Assassin's Creed Secret Crusade tells Altair's story from the first AC game to Bloodlines to Revelations. As the reader, we cannot change what happens in the "canon" story of the novelization no matter how ugly certain events get.
    "But the author... the author invents the future. The author owns the future."
    But in the game, thanks to the open world RPG elements, we are the author. We decide in Layla's animus if Kassandra is the hero like in the novel or her twin brother Alexios, and we have the freedom to deviate from the "canon" Assassin's Creed Odyssey story, possibly to break the code and node Kassandra "canonically" failed to break.

    Layla hearing these messages from the Isu explains (at least for me) why Odyssey is the way it is in terms of character select and dialogue options. I'm guessing Layla can change the past with her animus? Or she might attempt to do it, in any case. Going to be interesting to see once the game releases.

    So.. strange afterthought, but the interaction between time, the Code as explained, and the Animus as it currently operates makes me wonder if they're trying to push Layla into building an Animus interface that can allow her to view the code - Or remove the 'cage' the Isu left on humanity. She's shown she's damn good at tinkering with the Animus, and it's pretty evident that we're no longer just re-experiencing a memory, like with the original Animus, but actively in control of that memory.
    Oh well, derp theory ahoy.

      +T S (AssassinOverkill) And maybe the "Father of Understanding" is needed too in order to understand the code?

    • @Garother
      @Garother 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      S Allen The clearest interpretation was that the key for the Grand Temple was Eve. The key Haytham found must have been used by Eve to lock Juno during the human uprising. And it was probably coded by her DNA, so nobody else would be able to find a way to open the seal. ("Find Eve. The key. Her DNA. In Eden.") Notice how we do not have any more details about the temple key on any media or wiki. Juno wanted Eves key to be found so Desmond could save the world... and free her. Another support for my theory is that it doesnt seem normal for the Isu to lock the device that would create a protective shield around the world. The device was locked because of the new dangerous functionality. Freeing Juno. That would imply that the early humans like Adam and Eve were able to use the items of the Isu.

Ive always loved the cryptic side of AC games it really makes you think and i think in origins they've really delved into it now and those Isu messages blew my mind when i 1st heard them but i after hearing each one (reversed audio too) i thought exactly the same as you and it seems that Layla is the key to it all or at least the key to understanding the code and like they said her animus is different as is the mind that created it, seriously looking forward to the next game hoping it has more modern day game play with Layla that would be cool ive also wondered if Desmond's son will have a role to play at some point i guess all we can do is wait and see!

    on AC1, 2, BH, Reve, 3, 4 there where always this connection with each game but lately the games feels like they are not connected in anyway. they need to add more of the modern day in, like in the Ezio saga. i like how they try to dive in more of the ISU side of thing and story but i also want to see more of the Assassin stuff. i would love to see AC game based on the modern day outside of Animus from a field assassins point of view

    What if breaking the code is done by the bleeding effect?? That would explain why Desmond was able to be a bridge between ISU and human world's. The bleeding effect could be the gateway into living the words of the creed, it could be the key point in which the 6th sense is unlocked, the transformation point from observer to author??

    In AC Revelations. Jupiter refers to the "Nexus of Time" I believe he was speaking of a Super Computing Devise. That was able to predict to a T. Possible futures of out comes the Isu (Juno,Minerva,Jupiter) were looking for in order to prevent the same cycle from occurring again. And if there were future individuals using those outcomes they could "guide" or manipulate (Desmond) with prerecorded messages in a bottle to help along the way???

      A spin-off at least wouldn’t hurt, if it works out Ubisoft could definitely use it in future works. If it weren’t for modern day I honestly wouldn’t give much a damn about the series, since the franchise’s importance is the implications it has in the now, that these secret orders from the past could still affect the present. If there were no modern time, then what would even be the point? What would it matter?

    • @lesliekilgore648

    If I’m thinking about this right, any time the Isu converse with Desmond, Layla, or their ancestors (or in Bayek’s case, possibly not an ancestor), then a node could be the pivotal moments in the lives of the characters we play. So maybe the goal is for Ubisoft to let us have different endings once, so we can “break the node.” Makes sense, but I prefer a set story with no choices like the old Assassins Creed games. But that’s a theory I have for what an example of a node could be.

      Also, given this knowledge, I can see a path to two future entries that would shake up the AC formula. One in which we travel all the way back to the time of the Isu using an upgraded version of Layla's animus. Then, a second one in which she cracks the code, allowing us to jump around in time through the past, present, and future--perhaps even manipulating time as a gameplay, story, and combat mechanic.

The philosophy of "Break the Code, Break the Node" come very close to the principles of using the One Power, also that time and reality is a simulation and tat there are many possible futures that can occur, but there are set points that MUST happen, spokes on a wheel if you must.

    I’m still waiting for a Assassin’s Creed crossover. All, if not, the important assassins being in one game and meeting one another is the one game I would love seeing.

      A little late... but I don't think it came from the Isu.
      I think the Messenger just referenced it in this monologue to Layla to help her understand Time. For her to understand the Creed literally, not just figuratively.

    I think in the next couple of assassin‘s creed games, this is my prediction, but I think the Isu are trying rewrite their own history so that their catastrophe won’t happen again. I don’t mean the 2012 potential catastrophe but to somehow manipulate time to a point where they can prevent their own ancient civilization from dying out when the solar flare hits first at 75,000 years ago. I think dealing with the humans and a semi pacifistic way is just a way to get them to somehow work together only for the ISU‘s favor.
    It’s like the Terminator movies where they keep trying to prevent Skynet from going online every single time but never works, judgment day still happens.
    Just imagine after Layla became a being of light alongside Desmond allegedly, we are trying to explore possible futures after hypothetically seeing the 2012 Event takes place, what she could imagine how the world would be had the first catastrophe never happened, what will become of the humans then or the ISU? How evolve further could they possibly be after all that time in our present day? Somehow I think throughout this entire comment I made I think one or two of those points will be addressed in the next couple games

    Hey Tyler good too see you back at it man. Really like the video man, but I thought I might offer some constructive criticism. Firstly, it sounds like you're reading of a script, nothing with having a script but if you can try to make the delivery a bit more 'genuine' and more 'passionate', if you get what I mean. Secondly, I reckon transition slides soul be nice because you go onto different points seamlessly, that's good but if maybe having like a screen saying what you're gonna about next or some kind of image showing that would be nice. For example at around 3:55 when you said "let's ask the question...", you could've added like a pop up on the screen or some slide or something indicating the question, it'd just draw the viewers attention. Maybe some music in the background would do good. Sorry if this sounds like I'm telling you what to do, I'm really not trying to do that, just looking to help. But in any case nice video, really looking forward to what comes next. Good luck bro

    You should do an update to this video after the events of Valhalla. In the video you asked why Layla. Now we know that she joined Desmond in figuring out all the possible futures to prevent the next catastrophe. And other important information is that the reader is actually Desmond and the autor, could be Basin?

    The Inaudible Audio is the Ubisoft's move to change it's traditional Assassin's Creed Games to a more complex and more flexible gameplay...
    In the first Reverse "Time", refers to the limitations of Ubisoft to use the Timeline of history, since history is written and done, it only needs to be relived not to be altered with.
    The second reversed audio "Break the Code, Break the Node", refers to the near end of the franchise since it reached the latest possible history of Victorian Era, London.
    "Stories" that is being said 3 times refers to the different stories we might made or create if we didn't bound ourselves to this limitation of historical accuracy of events
    The 3rd reversed audio "Collapse the Wave", Refers to the 1 year break of the yearly release of Assassins Creed, this break gave way to new ideas and polished Assassins Creed Origins gameplay with compelling Story.
    The 4th reverse audio "Overload your mind's capacity", refers to the imagination and creativity that can be done in the franchise if it is not limited to the historical accuracy.
    The 5th and last reverse audio "Reality is a Simulation, Break the Code" refers to the Ubisoft's movement to break the realism and historical accuracy of Assassins Creed to provide and give more gameplay and story that is not limited but creative and imaginative to the fans.
    Assassins's Creed Odyssey is the Full Fruit of this Movement.

    They're about to start turning the Animus into a time machine and start having future Assassin's Creed game stories where the Animus can change events in history instead of just living out memories of it. That's EXACTLY what it sounds like this story with Layla is headed. This would also explain the lore-change in AC: Odyssey where you can choose alternate endings; alternate endings which in future games could be alternate versions of reality made through the animus.

    Considering the assassins creed games (at least all the new ones) are hinting at the entire ac universe even present time is all a simulation, which would be super neat.
