    Grace, by one definition, means “undeserved kindness”. Think about that for a second. None of us deserve this kindness, this love, yet we receive it anyway. All you have to do is accept it and it will put you upon a rock that no wave could ever reach.

      @@colinpierre3441 pushing back - it's only by faith that salvation is received and retained.
      If you find yourself acting in sinful ways, you only need to re-cognize and remember the truth of God's forgiveness and affirm it to get back on that rock - not by fulfilling a quota of good works to retain faith and therefore salvation.

      all living beings *do* deserve kindness. by saying "none of us deserve this kindness," you demonstrate everything wrong with religious thought generally, and Christianity specifically. it's a cult of victimhood, guilt, and servitude, by which you invent a deity to provide the forgiveness you crave, that you don't need... the same way a child invents an imaginary friend. grow up!

    Thank you for sharing, I was a Wahhabi Muslim and thanks to God I became an Orthodox Christian.
    I was born in France, and grew up in a North African family, and unfortunately at the age of 21 I experienced Islam which really made me very bad, I had fallen into hatred of others.
    And following a journey that lasted more than 10 years through the different sects that exist in this religion (Ash'ari, Mu'tazilite etc etc), I finally succeeded, thanks to God, in freeing myself from this religion. after reading the holy gospels in which the figure of jesus christ really struck me.

    Such a beautiful and true explanation. As a Catholic I am saddened that many think we try to ‘earn’ salvation through works. But it’s all grace, all a free gift. All we have to do is say yes and respond the best we can to His grace and rely on His grace to respond!! Anything we do has no merit in itself, it’s all about being in union with Him ‘without whom we can do nothing’. Why try to earn what we never could? When He gives it freely? Truly, our God is an awesome God.
    Peace be to all here 🙏🏻❤️

      Jews are missing the new covenant God promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezek.36:27. God said He would put His Spirit in us (Ezek.), and He would write His laws on our heart and inscribe them on our minds. He would be God to us and we would truly be a people to HIm, and we could all know Him personally. This is possible because God found a way that He could righteously forgive our sins. (Jer) This is the ministry the apostle Paul spoke and wrote about.

      @@1951NBN you need to study a little bit better, Ezekiel was about the people turning away from their wickedness I'm turning back to the most high, that when they built the second temple he would dwell with them but they rejected HIS offer. But the indwelling of the ruach hakodesh was poured out in Acts 10 and on All flesh. Shaul all the one you call Paul, was telling the heathen Nations that they must graft into the root of Judah, and the branch that is Messiah. He said that some of the natural Olive branches were cut off so that some of the wild could be grafted in but not to brag, for if he cut them off how much quicker would he cut you off. He also said everyone has to graft in. You're grafting into a well-established tree a root that has been since before time, not some Christian thing. I beseech you to continue your studies even if you think you have the truth, you have some, but have been deceived as we all have because we have received nothing but lies. God is holy, holy, holy and He can't simply excuse sin. This would diminish Himself. Jesus paid the price so God can forgive sin based on Jesus' work and remain holy.

To me its only fitting in justice that in our bad deed, the vise of sin, we must repent. So too, in virtue of holiness, good deeds are required by the denial of self in action for love of God and neighbor. God knows our heart and our walk with Him.
      As a Catholic who is grateful to be moving deeper into the love of God and stronger faith, my desire to be more virtuous is growing and by his grace my sin will be lessened because grace perfects nature and He is perfecting me if I am willing to cooperate.

    So the entire premise is, if we start with all the presuppositions of Christianity, then Christianity is the best way to make sense of the world and our relationship to whatever is eternal and transcendent. It’s completely circular. The problem is, if those aren’t your presuppositions, if your world isn’t constructed around -innocence(grace)/knowledge(sin) -corrupted by design/forgiven- dichotomies, then the arguments themselves become incoherent.
    And since the Christian worldview is a prerequisite for the argument to be coherent, then it occurs to me that this isn’t about making a rational argument, it certainly isn’t structured to be persuasive to a nonbeliever. This instrument (apologetics) exists solely to keep Christians from straying too far afield in their search for truth. An intellectual fence that keeps the herd corralled.

    • @wwm8
      @wwm8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh honey, if I may recommend a dictionary. Your definitions of innocence & knowledge are wrong. You got apologetics wrong. You missed the point. Oh, and where words are many (your comment), sin is not absent 🤣 You're welcome.

    • @stthomasaquarius
      @stthomasaquarius 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@wwm8 It’s always fun when a person thinks that the best way to make their argument is to affect a patronizing tone.
      Be serious. Even though Christians will argue that the sin of Adam and Eve was disobedience, it isn’t how they behave. Adam and Eve were innocent and then they ate of the tree of knowledge and fell into sin.
      All Christianity is oriented this way. When a woman has had sex she has “known” a man and is no longer innocent. And whether Orthodox Christians do it or not, all evangelical teaching of children is about the preservation of innocence through the preservation of ignorance. Because they don’t want their children “corrupted” by worldly knowledge.
      And apologetics has always been geared toward assuaging the doubts of the believer, not persuading the non-believer.

      When you are good friends with someone and you break their trust, the only way to gain this trust back is if you show your friend your love for him in such a way he would be able to accept you as his friend again.
      Now imagine that you broke the trust of your friend on a such a way, it was such a deception and betrayal of your friendship, that the only way to restore your relationship was for you to demonstrate your love in the most extreme way, which would be dieing for him.
      In my comparison you are Humanity and your friend is God, however we didn't die for God and yet our relationship is kinda restored. Because no human can possibly compensate for the betrayal done by Humanity, technically restoring our relationship with God would be impossible. But God does the unthinkable, He makes Himself a man, because only a man can pay for the mistakes of men, and He sacrifices Himself, He gives His life for us so we can have a relationship with Him again.
      God didn't need to save us, God was the one that was betrayed, yet His love for us saved us. As Jonh Lennox said, God already accepts us, it's whether we accept Him or not that is the question.
      What about Eternal life? Well, with God winning over death it self, He made it so death is nothing but a physical condition and we are able to join Him in eternal happiness if we truly wish to.

Every religion has this in common "PRACTICE' & "FAITH". Faith word itself means "something that you can't explain yet experience". Therefore, practice and have faith and you'll come to find out that there are changes happening around you and within you whether you're Hindu, Muslim or Christian. Also you'll realize whenever you defer from it you'll fell imbalance, most people ever realize this because they never experienced the balance between inner world and outer world.

      @@themancuniancandidate2744 how can Nazism be linked with a religion that is diametrically opposed to it? Did they advocate for loving your neighbor as yourself? For following the Ten Commandments? For repenting of sins or to turn the other cheek? What tenets of Christianity were demonstrated by Nazis? Perhaps they were taking care of all orphans and widows and I was unaware of it but I had not heard of any pro-Christian Nazi ideals.

      @@jl4018 Ok. If you're going to invoke scripture, then you need to accept the double edged sword that comes with doing so. Nowhere in the NT does it specifically set the 10 Commandments aside from no longer applying under the New Covenant. So you either lose ALL 613 Mosaic Laws, or you keep the big ten that you seem so fond of, and we also get to keep the ones you Christians like to sweep under the rug; you know the ones that promote or allow such niceties as mass murder, rape, genocide, incest, slavery etc. The Nazis did plenty of the above, and the scripture you seem so keen on specifically allows them to do so.
      So, what's it gonna be? Keep the big ten and then we get all those not so nice laws too? Or lose all 613 Mosaic laws(inc the big ten) under the New Covenant, and remove one of the cornerstones of Christianity?

    Not a Christian but its crazy how much hate they get especially as they are usually the most forgiving and understanding people on the planet. I think that says a lot about how hateful and anti human todays ppl are.

    First of all, a very good speaker, secondly I rather appreciated what he said. I do not know if my views on religion are right or wrong and I am in no hurry to find out, but this man made a very good point on relationships which I feel we can all respect
