That last section of road coming up the mountain is Squirrel Spur Rd, a road I ride daily. A few more miles down the road from where you ended the video is my neck of the woods. I suspect I heard your crew riding by the private road to my place that day. I hear all the motorcycles on Squirrel Spur and the adjacent Blue Ridge Parkway. Lot's of neat gravel state roads, and a different world, up here on the mountain. Edit - I just noticed the cover image for your video shows your group parked at the power plant at the end of Kibler Valley and the Dan River. What a fantastic gravel road you traveled to get there, winding back and forth along the Dan River. One of my favorites. From where you took that picture, I live up on the left on the edge of the mountain above the power plant. From my property, I can see that power plant. Pretty neat you were so near to my place. And so glad you experienced that gravel road. Very unique. Welcome to Virginia.
i like the mix of ride audio and voiceover. might be the dad in me but i'd like to see you wearing riding gear. i know it's sometimes hot and uncomfortable but, it's worth it. anyway you do you. keep up the great videos!
Trading in my 2024 Yamaha Tenere 700 on a new KLX300 today. Tenere is cool, but a giant bike. For me if youre doing a lot of trails I would prefer a dual sport. They are just more fun to me. The adventure bikes are so much heavier and top heavy for trail riding. The Tenere is great bike but I just could never make a connection with it. I've been riding a long time and had over 30 bikes, multiple versions of most type of bikes. Tenere is also the one bike I've ridden the least since owning. Just letting you know my experience with it for anyone considering it.
I can 💯 approve of the KlX 300 in the deepest of woods. If you pick one up, just switch out the front sprocket to a 13tooth and you’ll have lots more torque.
Is it uncomfortable to ride down the road for a while with a dirt helmet and goggles? I’m looking to buy my first dual sport soon and I cant decide between Mx and adv helmets
I wish I remembered to mention that! One of the ADV riders saved me with the .5gallons he was carrying. I never ran out completely but I was pretty close.

That is awesome! Yeah I loved it up there. We’re not too far away in NC but we definitely don’t have fun gravel roads like that where I’m living.
Just realized I haven't ridden in over a month. Just busy with work and some depression. Lookin forward to some fall riding while it lasts!

I haven’t found it to be uncomfortable at all, but you will get much less wind noise with an ADV helmet for sure.
I have an africa twin 1100 I would like a smaller Enduro problem is 300cc isn't much after 500cc or bigger . Looking for 400cc but un available
Maybe check out the Honda 450’s that might be the sweet spot.
