    Clear instructions. Logical order. Useful method for practical use. Thank you! One sub-topic you might address are radio DJs who interview people. The DJI mic 2 is ideal, with a little shift in needs. I am a public radio DJ and do not use a camera, so want to just carry the two mics. Do the settings from the Receive hold without the receiver no where near? It would make a popular program for DJs. Many thanks, Railroad Joe KVRF, Palmer Alaska

    Just switching, right now, from Rode WGII to DJI Mic 2 because I got a DJI OPM3 and want to use one mic system with both that and my Nikon mirrorless.
    So, the camera setting on the DJI receiver is just a quick way to set gain for specific cameras? Is there a table or chart that shows what settings they actually represent in case I wanted to manually tweak gain slightly different from their recommendation?
    When I use the DJI Mic 2 directly with the OPM3 it is using Bluetooth connection. Is there a a quality difference than using the wireless receiver? More convenient, but is there a quality issue as I've never thought BLE was a professional connection for audio gear?
    Lastly, my understanding is that because of patent issues (no one wants to pay royalties) none of the 32-bit wireless mics transmit 32-bit to the camera, they only record internally at 32-bit.
    For all non-live work, do you recommend still using the camera's audio (mirrorless with DJI receiver or OPM3 with BLE) as scratch and sync'ing the recorded audio to use as the main audio or is it "not needed" unless there is audio drop outs?

    • @MikeBSalazar
      @MikeBSalazar  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't seen a chart or table to show the recommended settings.
      When it comes to the wireless receiver, I don't perceive a difference in audio quality. However if you want to manipulate the 32 bit audio, you'll want to take the audio straight from the microphone itself.
      So yes, you'll want to hit record or make sure that those microphones automatically record if you need it to.
      For me I prefer to record both scratch and recorded audio just in case, then sync if needed.

    I still dont understand why you need stereo to separate audio track, you have just left and right audio ... with mono, you have 2 separate audio files and you can also edit it in post processing ... what am I missing ? if I use both transmitters, why would be stereo setting better ?

    • @MikeBSalazar
      @MikeBSalazar  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Stereo is better to have the left and right split, but if you record mono, then both tracks are mixed together into one track and you can’t edit either in post unless you record directly on each microphone as well and take the audio from the individual mics.

      There is on amazon a cable that split the 3.5 TRS stereo onto Two 3.5 mono. It allows to connect a stereo microphone on a boompole for example to the two transmitters that send both mono channel and finally the receiver set as stereo can store both channel in the camera. It is the only way i found right now in the market to send a stereo signal wirelessly to a camera. If someone knows another let me know.
