    interesting design but I would slide that motor gear down so it contacts the crown gear fully not just the edge, it might chip the teeth the way it is, might be quieter too

    This falls under the category of "what were they thinking!!??" Since there were other better fans out there, and they still marketed and sold this thing? Did they test these first? Just makes you wonder how these came into production as they were. Does anyone know anything about the company? And if they made any other models?

    I bet these things use such a low torque motor you can use a tape player motor.

    That's a really nice (and extremely RARE) looking fan, good have an official better look at the inside of it too (especially with it running too). :) TH-cam user 12baumarobi has one like it too (that he bought a little early this decade), and his wobbled really bad.

      +Motorguy81 So you are saying something from the early 1980s isn't vintage? indeed he is right, this is a rare fan...

    • @vintageceilingfans
      @vintageceilingfans  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Motorguy81 Anything can be collectible if people are willing to collect.. Ceiling fans from the 70s and 80s are also collectors items.. May not be antique but they are vintage and people do collect them.. I'm not sure where you've been but there are a few websites and Facebook groups which contain many people who collect vintage ceiling fans of this era.. People collect video games and other stuff from the 70s and 80s, and even 90s, not to mention people also collect vehicles from that era as well, such as old muscle cars, and those old AMC cars that were big in those days, so your term, "Post WWI-1950s (Stretch to 60s) are generally termed vintage by collectors" is incorrect.. Post war stuff is generally classified as being "Antique", stuff from the 70s, 80s and 90s is classified as being "Vintage"..

      Idk these fans were supposed to belong in the Panama handyman series witch the ceiling fan flopped on the market. These were sold around the late 1970s to 80s. They didnt make many copies of this fan.

      These fans were pretty cheap made in the late 70s and 80s. They were only over 20 dollars us back then.

      It looks like the gear drive is a cheeping out method vs using a traditional direct drive. That single poll “vent fan” motor driving a ceiling fan. What a piece of work.
