@@yunus1947 I heard he violated some ethics or something. My opinion on Dr. Phil, based on the show, is that sometimes he's helpful and cuts to the chase in an effective way of helping with his guests, and sometimes he's not at all. I'm guessing with this lady (and I didn't see the whole show), he was not at all helpful. He's kind of a jerk here.

He honestly did this couple years ago with a man who was domestic abuse victim. They weren't laughing at her specifically, they were laughing at the absurdity of her statement. She then made it about herself and was painting a narrative where she is a victim. Like, people can say stupid things, but are they really a stupid person? No one would know. In this instance, she made it seem like people were against here specifically, when in actuality no one was, because no one in that crowd truly knows her at all.

I know 😭 she handled it so maturely and respectfully, and her apology was a great example of interpersonal effectiveness. She came for help for something that was broadcasted publicly, in a way that portrayed her as "crazy" and just negatively in general. The way the show portrayed her made her super vulnerable to being judged by thousands of people she doesn't even know, based only on how the show was handled. It was humiliating, and her behavior was clearly an emotional reaction to the frankly distressing experience of being humiliated in real time. And it was clear that she NEVER intended to come off the way Dr. Phil was characterizing. Everything she said seemed misunderstood and distorted into something more negative than it truly was. He was so hostile and ready to jump at any opportunity to upbraid her and invalidate her words/actions as "manipulation" or "living in fantasy land." He was really not showing empathy towards Bailey throughout this whole episode. 💔I wonder how she is doing now. I hope she got genuine help. Compassionate, supportive, ethical help.

His approach simplifies complex issues and dismisses Bailey's claims without sufficient investigation. This highlights the potential dangers of media portrayals of mental health and the importance of critical thinking, ethical media practices, and responsible representation of mental health professionals. Every mental health patient deserves help she's literally asking for help, if he thinks she's acting like a victim then teach her, guide her how to act, don't sit there and tell her she's unfixable that's rule number one in psychology, if you think she's "manipulative" you don't say that to a person like they are incurable, there are proper ways to deal with this or to say it like " your behavior was manipulative in this particular situation" etc but don't just point fingers on someone and say " you're manipulative I'm not interested in helping you" she's already a mental health patient meaning she needs help she needed YOUR help, so you remain patient with your clients till they heal you don't criticize them and tell them they're unfixable that's psychology 101

@@gamingpigeon9119 It's all staged and rigged. They come on to these shows and asked by the producer to do certain things to make the show more exciting. Her getting thrown off is all pre-arranged.
Most of the people who watch these kind of shows are quite gullible and suck it all up like it's real

@@PreservationEnthusiast ye most of them are staged but some of them like the guy seeing his transgender son for the first time are real

@@gamingpigeon9119 I'm prepared to accept some may be real, but how did you know it was real, and the guy hadn't seen his post transition son before?
The only reason I know for certain that some of them are fake is because although they sign non disclosure agreements, a few years later they have reneged on them. They have admitted yes, the producer told them to say certain stuff or act in a certain way. Even it was planned they got angry so they could bring security on the set to create some drama.
They have to provide "content" which gets them views and TV ratings, otherwise the show gets cancelled, so they are working to a plan. It has to be "entertaining".

I’m a male and I seem to have some of the same problems and delusions that bailey has. I can tell that shes actually subconsciously aware of her delusions and is somewhat embarrassed which actually caused her feel shamed when the audience was laughing at her. She was being laughed at and in return she felt the need to respond in the moment, but in a way she thought was non offensive and in passing. So I can tell she didn’t mean to offend and was completely caught of guard with the way Dr. Phil responded by telling her to leave. I didn’t get the vibe that she was “intentionally” (for lack of a better word) being disrespectful but if she came out that way she genuinely didn’t mean for it to come off like that. I can also see that she listens when someone speaks out about her attitude and in return tries to over correct hold herself accountable. I also noticed that she is very smart but has a tough time letting out her emotions which cause them to build up. Even in the moment of talking to the woman she stalked Bailey didn’t know how to deal with her emotions. Sometimes this inability to cope with emotions and reality can cause obsessive behavior. Above all things she also seems to struggle with explaining to others about how she feels. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s often misunderstood by the people around her.
Dr. Phil essentially handled the situation the opposite of how a professional should. He took her comments, throughout the entire episode, at a face and personal value instead of understanding the psychology behind the way she was thinking and acting.

You seem to have a lot of empathy and insight into what she is going through. If you feel that you need help in your own life please find a genuine therapist who is supportive and knows what they are doing. I wish you all the best.

i feel like you have such an amazing grasp on this. I also have a lot of compassion for her. Obsessive behaviors and thoughts are very difficult to control or justify, but they just seem right to you. Her inability to properly express emotion coupled with her clear anxiety and obsessive behavior makes me think she might be on the spectrum? (speaking as someone who also is)

There was no accidental offending. He wasn't offended. He just didn't like not having control. They do laugh and he's saying she's manipulative for pointing it out. For pointing out how he shames people's real issues and makes money off their hardship without giving them treatment. Leaving them with less

Of course he’s all about that! It’s called ratings and he truly didn’t want to help her as she did expose him for what he truly is!

This is a clear cut sign of Narcissism. He is a big narcissist and my heart goes out to this poor girl. Her mom made a bad choice in agreeing to this show. I hope she fixes her mistakes and helps her daughter rise from this traumatic show/episode. This was far more traumatic for this “child”
