…it’s crazy how this evolved from an obscure Vocaloid hit to what is essentially the de facto character theme for Raiden Mei from Honkai…
Well it was originally written by Cai Jinhan for GGZ before HoYO-mix even existed as part of miHoYo, they used vocaloids because they were a small company and couldn't afford singers at the time, later TetraCalyx was the singer for the song when she was Mei's and Bronya's VA and then later Mika Kobayashi. I would love if they used Houkai Sekai no Utahime and Tsumi no Tenshi in HSR to keep the tradition of these songs being in every Honkai game. A tiny part of the piano theme was already used in Acheron's trailer.
So, this is where it began, and if commenting on a 10 y/o video is a sin, then I'll gladly become a sinner

Not exactly; the oldest variant originated from their first of the two games, zombiegirl kawaii. That version is lyricl-ess and had no singer and was a shorter and simpler version.

@@starpeep5769 Nope. If I remember correctly the creator of this song is a part of Mihoyo. And the titles are just similar enough that I got confused between them. Heck, the Miku version was used before they managed to get another vocalist to cover it.

Jenson G It’s not in chinese, it’s in Japanese. There’s 3 types of lettering in Japanese- Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji (Chinese inspired letters) so I kind of understand why you might mistaken it for Chinese.

Yes it is original, only this is the first version of the song and they decided to use Miku's voice. In HG2 it was sung by Tetracalyx and in HI3 it was by Mika Kobayashi
