M sport package also, and more important, adds sport suspension, steering and also performance of the brakes. It's not all about aesthetics it's also about sport skills of the car. Yes, is not an M model but it has additional sport characteristics which differ from a normal series model.
There are 3 levels of M cars, first the M Sport cars, then M performance ones and finally the M ones. But people hates persons who put an M badge on the rear of an M Sport model and they are completely wrong because BMW itself put it into the M140i model without being a pure M model.
So if I add an M badge behind a M Sport it's because it belongs to one of the three M levels inside BMW.

It wasn't the case with odd numbers being sedans and even being coupes untill after the e90 ,for the e90 you got the 3 series e92 which is a coupe and e93 convertible , much love great video
I wish they would have kept the touring models in the US 😢. I have a M50i and did a stage one tune to it and now it has more hp and torque than a x5M.

What does the “S” stand for in for example “4.6is”?
You left out the best badge Dinan. Got to get 10 points of after market performance parts to be able to apply for one. You see this on a used car just know its got a good tune.

If you’re referring to the rear of the vehicle M Logo specifically I’d be skeptical. Regarding your second question, usually you can’t have the vehicle de-badged by BMW although I have seen some special editions released this way.

c = coupe/convertible, i = fuel injection
What does the ci mean like the 330ci ?

Touring meaning
What about L, Li, iL, Lxi
L is "long wheelbase"
Li and iL is "long wheelbase injected" and vice versa
Lxi could be "long wheelbase injected 4wd" following logic... Not fully sure tho

M sport doesn’t make it an M series. Just has a few gifts from the M series. If you drive an M sport and drive an M series back to back the M series is a different animal than M sport.
