    so when feeding water into system FROM the house you wanna use a Regular Garden Hose?? & then for the OUTPUT hose you wanna use the 3/8?? & then the 3/16 just for optimal pressure & water flow? just verifying cause theres a lot of hose talk want to make sure i got it all down 😂😂 please get back if you can

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha totally, yes so 5/8" from the water source to the system inlet, then 3/8" off the system for 100' - 200' and then it adapts down to the small pole hose for the pole, which ID is 3/16"... oh heres a vid all about hoses lol th-cam.com/video/5MFBNd9314c/w-d-xo.html

    Love what your doing but shouldn't you always flush the system before using and after using to help clean out ro to last longer? I was always taught to open discharge valve both times to make sure ro stays cleaner

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not needed as long as the pre filter is changed regularly then you’re good to go, these systems also do not have a ball valve to change the flow through the waste.

    • @LuisC202
      @LuisC202 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are correct. Every time you use any RO system the proper way is flush on startup and before shutdown. I do this procedure and have had the same membrane for over 7 years.

Even more so in winter months. With salt and wind. It's 3 to 4 months of cussing and dreaming for spring.

    AWESOME VIDEOS .....
    Just curious ... You say these systems do not need a ball valve to change the flow through the waste.Why is that ? I use to build RO/DI systems and was a window cleaner also and always use a valve to improve the flow along with improving the tds out from the RO which also helped the flow to rinse the windows down. I would also use a carbonator pump going into the sediment - carbon and then onto the RO when i was on big commercial jobs and never used DI.I could go 4-5 years on the Axeon HF5 before it started creeping to 5-15 ppm. I would always flush my system before and after for 5 minutes. Our water here in Arizona can vary from 145 all the way up to 500 + and i could get tds down from 0 PPM to 5 PPM ( @500 PPM ) strictly RO water
    Hopefully you didnt get offended by this post but i am just curios as to why no flow valve.

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  ปีที่แล้ว

      These are regulated with a waste water valve which controls the ratio of flow between pure/waste from the RO membrane.

  • @ФитнесФастинг
    @ФитнесФастинг 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can this system deliver 0 ppm out of 500-600 ppm hard water?
    What would be the lifspan of membrane and resin then? Thanks

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can, RO membranes last around 2-3 years with regular prefilter changes and resin depends on incoming TDS but with the 10" cartridge Resin changes can be every 8-12 weeks

    Why are you letting the RO sit for a day after you purge it with water? And also do you have to disinfect the RO somehow? I’m wondering if bacteria could cause window streaks. Thanks Steve

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its to fully saturate the RO so you get the most out of the RO first time using it through the whole system also you do not need to disinfect the the RO, bacteria will not cause streaks
