As a former Audi and MB salesman; the RS5 as beautiful sounding and looking as it is, doesn't hold a candle to a C63 with a 6.2 - especially with the performance pack. RS5 is certainly easier to live with and softer. I remember doing 0-110-0km/h in city blocks in Calgary in a C63 pp - spinning through first. Girlfriend loved it. The RS5 doesn't have enough torque to ever get the jump on the Benz.
Those C63's do like mid 12's in the 1/4 mile and low 12's for the 507 edition so they are no joke. When MotorTrend tested the 507 coupe I believe they managed to do a 3.8 second 0-60 and 12.2 in the 1/4 mile. However, I did expect the Audi to shoot off the line better and the other two to pass it midway through but obviously that wasn't the case.
C63 is such an amazing sounding v8 and 1 of my top 5 favorite cars I would buy but only the N/A V8. Turbos are cool and I own nothing but turbo cars but the c63 or a TVR sagaris with that N/A online 6 would totally be happy with

I actually thought the Audi would win every race being attuned, being all wheel drive, that Mercedes really launched well, it's a driver's race with all of those sedans, but you have to be a very good driver to get that charger to launch.
The RS5s are great from a dig. They lack the torque on a roll though. Only 319 ft lbs of torque on them. Stage 2 tune will put them shy of 400 and it's still not enough.

It just has the 507 rims it doesnt even have an lsd and performance package, so its much weaker, imagine a performance pack car in this race, it wouldve been in another league

The W204 C63 AMG is my favourite NA V8 of all time, the styling of the car looks like a lion ready to go hunt in the jungle, an absolute beast & one of, if not the best sounding V8, in my opinion. The engine sounds monstrous with a gnarly exhaust note, once Mercedes went the turbo route in the following generations it lost that pure NA aggressiveness, sure the C63s 4.0L bi-turbo V8 is more powerful but nothing beats the sound of the W204 model, and don’t get me started on the upcoming 2022 C63, a 2.0L turbo taken out of the A45s and jammed with an electric motor, I don’t care how much power the car has, it could be the most powerful car in the world for all I care, but a C63 AMG without a V8 is not a true C63, you’ve destroyed the soul of the car, the performance as well as the noise is what pure AMG buyers want, if we wanted a 4 cylinder the A45 is there for those who want it, should’ve just discontinued the car & let it go out a legend. Also don’t be confused, it’s not a 6.3L, it’s a 6.2L (6208cc), the reason why it’s called “6.3” is because it pays homage to Mercedes first ever V8 which was a 6.3L engine used in the Mercedes Benz 600 & 300 SEL
It's actually labelled 6.3 as German auto OEM's always round up engine sizes. So 6208cc gets rounded up to 6.3L - the same as a 1904cc engine would be rounded up to 2L if from BMW/Audi/MB

Those w204 c63 are a truly fearsome amg. I roll raced one a couple months ago in my b58 beamer thinking i would walk it because its older, and then i got my ass handed to me.
The Mercedes AMG 63 with it’s naturally aspirated 6.2 L engine was always one of my favorite sedans. ( and yes I know I said it’s a 6.2 L engine because that’s what they had , it’s worth a google)
@@jp184 It's a facelift, but the with the standard engine. You need toe P31 package to get the higher horsepower, and this one doesn't have it. You can tell by the color of the intake manifold that this is the 451HP C63.
@@Sideways_Singh not a 507 buddy, doesn’t even have the alcantara steering wheel. Probably missing the LSD option as well. P31 package or even the 507 come with alcantara steering wheels by factory and red caliper breaks. Only way to find out if it is 507 if it has the 507 badge on the passenger airbags!! 😅 tehe I
It is the standard engine. The easiest way to tell is the intake manifold color seen at 10 seconds in the video. A silver intake manifold is the standard engine, while the P31, 507 and Black series all have a dark "titanium" intake manifold. To be honest though, the power difference is that the standard engine actually never fully opens the throttle bodies, and therefore limits top end output. They detuned it like this from the factory so the bigger Mercs with the same engine were more powerful on paper. Simply running a P31/507 tune on standard engine will essentially yield the same higher power as those models. The P31/507 do have stronger forged pistons, but they really don't make a practical difference.
For the price, you can't beat the charger. Also if the charger has stock tires , those can be upgraded and upsized. Even the all season Michelin pilot sport tires make a huge difference. The stock tires are hard and not grippy at all. Also the scat pack charger little bit lighter.
How was it an easy win for 392. The C63 won the first roll and on the second one it looked like 392 got a jump and Mercedes was catching up and the 392 barely made it first.

It definitely isn’t tuned, that’s for sure. Stock for stock they are pretty close to each other with the 392 beginning to slowly pull it back at the end of the quarter mile. I don’t like that this channels races are a hit or miss, plus what is “a bit of a tune”? It’s either tuned or not
The rs5 never made its factory rated power stock anyway… it’s na, pulling timing isn’t really a thing when two cars are also operating in the same conditions. You could hear those tiny cylinders revving all the way up there, they just don’t make any push.

There is no reason that engine/ecu would lose a noticeable amount of performance without an error message appearing on the dash instantly. Any sensor issue or problem large enough to lose you the 30+ horsepower it would need to win against either of these cars would 100% illuminate the check engine light or probably limp mode the car completely. This is not an rs5 in limp mode, it is performing as intended. It is slow. The Audi rs5 is not a fast car. End of story.

Race 2 looked like the best rs5 launch/pull I have ever seen in my life, they have the torque output of a dental drill. I’m surprised that heavy boat of a machine moved at all, it took one hell of a high rpm dump of the clutch. And then even with all of that proceeds to get absolutely dragged on by a lighter machine with a better motor. Then the much cheaper machine also stomps it when traction stops being a problem.
Ive had so many fast/tuned cars over my lifetime that im now at a point where i honestly dont care about being the "fastest"....i just want the emotion, noise and mechanical pornography of that high revving work of art that is the Audi 4.2
I remember when this was a great channel for car lovers, But now you have to spend most of your time figuring out which car is wit and you can't really enjoy the race or you have to watch the video multiple times once you figure out somebody switch cars but you don't know if that's the car that was switched because you didn't see the rest of the drivers and you don't ever see anybody get out of a car and someone get in the car that someone just got out, So you try to look at the dashboard order insignia on the sterewheel to figure out which car you're looking at.
I agree and they make a ton of them so you see them every where all the time rather in V6 or v8 trim. Don’t see a lot of Mercedes AMG C63 models. The maintenance on the AMG models are just so dang expensive 🤦.

Those w204 c63 are a truly fearsome amg. I roll raced one a couple months ago in my b58 beamer thinking i would walk it because its older, and then i got my ass handed to me.
Pretty obvious the "tune" is not netting the RS5 50 hp lol Still would be my pick of the three.

The Mercedes AMG 63 with it’s naturally aspirated 6.2 L engine was always one of my favorite sedans.

@@jp184 It's a facelift, but the with the standard engine. You need toe P31 package to get the higher horsepower, and this one doesn't have it. You can tell by the color of the intake manifold that this is the 451HP C63.

Was that a P31 packaged C63? It was much faster than I expected, but I do know the P31 package picks up quite a bit of hp over the standard ones.
@@Sideways_Singh not a 507 buddy, doesn’t even have the alcantara steering wheel. Probably missing the LSD option as well. P31 package or even the 507 come with alcantara steering wheels by factory and red caliper breaks. Only way to find out if it is 507 if it has the 507 badge on the passenger airbags!! 😅 tehe I

It is the standard engine. The easiest way to tell is the intake manifold color seen at 10 seconds in the video. A silver intake manifold is the standard engine, while the P31, 507 and Black series all have a dark "titanium" intake manifold. To be honest though, the power difference is that the standard engine actually never fully opens the throttle bodies, and therefore limits top end output. They detuned it like this from the factory so the bigger Mercs with the same engine were more powerful on paper.
Simply running a P31/507 tune on standard engine will essentially yield the same higher power as those models. The P31/507 do have stronger forged pistons, but they really don't make a practical difference.
For the price, you can't beat the charger. Also if the charger has stock tires , those can be upgraded and upsized. Even the all season Michelin pilot sport tires make a huge difference. The stock tires are hard and not grippy at all. Also the scat pack charger little bit lighter.

How was it an easy win for 392. The C63 won the first roll and on the second one it looked like 392 got a jump and Mercedes was catching up and the 392 barely made it first.
easy win because merc remain behind till the end. doesn't matter if u were pulling u didn't pull fast enough to be considered a hard win.

C63 has a very aggressive exhaust note right from factory. That car is bone stock.

Something is DEFINITELY up with that RS5! It has to be pulling timing or something, it should WALK THAT 392.
It definitely isn’t tuned, that’s for sure. Stock for stock they are pretty close to each other with the 392 beginning to slowly pull it back at the end of the quarter mile.
I don’t like that this channels races are a hit or miss, plus what is “a bit of a tune”? It’s either tuned or not
The rs5 never made its factory rated power stock anyway… it’s na, pulling timing isn’t really a thing when two cars are also operating in the same conditions. You could hear those tiny cylinders revving all the way up there, they just don’t make any push.

@@ABthatMan_ I’m an independent tuner and mechanic giving you a half ass response because you aren’t worth my time. There is no reason that engine/ecu would lose a noticeable amount of performance without an error message appearing on the dash instantly. Any sensor issue or problem large enough to lose you the 30+ horsepower it would need to win against either of these cars would 100% illuminate the check engine light or probably limp mode the car completely. This is not an rs5 in limp mode, it is performing as intended. It is slow. The Audi rs5 is not a fast car. End of story.

Race 2 looked like the best rs5 launch/pull I have ever seen in my life, they have the torque output of a dental drill. I’m surprised that heavy boat of a machine moved at all, it took one hell of a high rpm dump of the clutch.
And then even with all of that proceeds to get absolutely dragged on by a lighter machine with a better motor. Then the much cheaper machine also stomps it when traction stops being a problem.
Perfect showcase for power to weight ratio💯the audi probably could’ve held up a little bit better but this was the Mercedes ball game all day

I remember when this was a great channel for car lovers, But now you have to spend most of your time figuring out which car is wit and you can't really enjoy the race or you have to watch the video multiple times once you figure out somebody switch cars but you don't know if that's the car that was switched because you didn't see the rest of the drivers and you don't ever see anybody get out of a car and someone get in the car that someone just got out, So you try to look at the dashboard order insignia on the sterewheel to figure out which car you're looking at.

Charger is more "car guy" type of car with comparatively cheaper parts and ease of maintenance in case you wanna do it yourself.
I agree and they make a ton of them so you see them every where all the time rather in V6 or v8 trim. Don’t see a lot of Mercedes AMG C63 models. The maintenance on the AMG models are just so dang expensive 🤦.
