I just wanted to quickly say how much i appreciate your channel and all the awesome videos you have made over the years. Last Christmas I was gifted a leather tooling kit, and I quickly knew I had found a new fulfilling hobby. Your instructional videos were (still are) invaluable and helpful in teaching me how to work with leather. I was able to make Christmas gifts for my whole family (they all loved them! ), even ended up designing a couple of my own designs! Looking forward to continue learning and making bigger and better things with your help and inspiration. Happy new year, cheers!
I bought a hot foil stamping machine on Amazon for around $169 and I absolutely love it. My only regret is not spending the extra $100 for the upgraded version with the removable carrier. As it is, I have to wait about an hour or so for it to cool off before I can change to a different stamp or letter set.
Still one of the best channels on youtube... I hope you and your loved ones have a merry 2022 and I hope with every fiber of my being that it is better than the last two! Thanks for the help in keeping the little bit of sanity I have left. Much love from KY!! Keep up the great work you two..
I've always thought foil stamping adds an extra layer of luxury to a piece. It's a nice elevation for something so simple to do! Also, thanks for saying "See you next week" and not "next year" 😆
THANKS SO MUCH FOR A INCREDIBLE 2021 REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT YOU HAVE IN STORE FOR THE NEW YEAR. HAPPY NEW YEAR'S TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
Thanks for another year of GREAT videos!. They have helped me and I have tried new things that have helped me grow as a leather crafter. Have a HAPPY 2022!
Thank you so much for sharing your craft! I got inspired and got a basic tooling set and was looking at your sponsor Weaver’s site. They have bellies, kipskin, shoulders, skirting leather, tooling sides and a bunch more. Have you done a video on picking the right leather? Does weaver have guides? I’m starting small wallets and mouse pads not full on horse saddles and don’t know where to start. Thank you again for sharing your process inspiring me.
I feel your pain on not getting the box on the letter set. I did the same thing and it's so annoying having to dig around for the right letters. Been thinking about making my own box
Great video. FYI: typography… Kerning refers to the amount of space between two letters (or other characters: Numbers, punctuation, etc.) and the process of adjusting that space to avoid awkward-looking gaps between your letters and improve legibility.
Hey great videos. I want to make some accessories for my bike - was wondering if you could make a tutorial on how to waterproof and hardy leather for the outdoors. Another tip I would like would be how to protect the underside / sides of the leather if part of it if exposed to the wrath of the sun / rain. Thank you! Keep up this great work.
Money making idea!! Make a version of this that works with a digital keyboard. A modern version of the old mechanical typewriters. All the letters and numbers heated and ready to stamp as you type. Imagine that.
I don't like hot stamps, I use a lot of waxy leathers and the heat makes the wax move and bubble and burn around the stamps and it just looks like a charred mess. I don't like gold foil either, it makes everything look like fake Hermes. Anyway it's just a matter of preference, I'm fine with my cold stamps.
OLD LEATHER SMITH here. Nice Job Eric. The Camera work is EXCELLENT, Thank you Camera Lady. GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃

Another wonderful video - so informational as always! Have you tried the foil on any material besides leather? Looking forward to more videos in 2022!
I just bought one of those and looking forward to using it.
Happy New Year to you both!

My favorite tool of 2021 is a Palasanto edge beveler. It is replacing my Barry King tools. This is the Cadillac of edge bevelers.
Getting things to align has been an absolute pain so far. We need a follow up with aligning things on this machine

You could use a small pocket mirror to check your spelling and mistakes quickly when doing multiple leather items.
