Thanks to you I bought a set! Can't wait to receive them. Looks like they will arrive in about 10 days from ordering, my confirmation-tracking said. The seller has gotten very good with delivery.
I still waiting for my sinabrok, almost 2 months now I’m getting excited can’t wait to use them to start my project’s. I ordered 1.5mm to 6mm 2 prong and 6 prong. Thanks for review much appreciated.
Thanks for sharing. I recently purchased a set of Pricking Iron Chisel Nippers. I'm liking them. Very neat and easy to use. Maybe someday I'll purchase the Sinabroks. They seem to work really well too.
Great stuff here Tim. Great information here for sure. I was familiar with the brand name and prices of Sinabroks, but had not seen them up close. Nice you shared the specs of the ones you had good luck with, that helps a lot as well. ~ Subbed.
I’m a beginner and went ahead and bought a 5 and a 2 prong. I wanted those clean round holes for stitching without frustration. Not a lot of other options out there.
@@BlackFlagLeatherGoods Finally got them and started using them. Worth every penny. Treats leather like butter. Hell, I just like owning them. Thanks again for the video.
Will the handle fit in a 10mm hole for use with an arbor press? I live in an apartment building. So I can't do any hammering. Just subscribed. Cheers from Montreal.
Thanks for watching! I don't know about the best size. It's pretty subjective. I like a bigger punch and bigger thread so I use a 1.2mm punch and 1mm thread. It kind of gives it more of a rugged look, whereas the slanted irons and thinner thread give it more of a refined feel in my opinion.
They look awesome, maybe one day I'll pony up the money. I also had those same cheap Amazon Dimond irons and they are a pain to pull outta the leather. I recently got a set of 2/5/10 3.85 owden French style irons and it's night and day. They power through 3 layers of 2/3 oz leather and just slide out. Best part was the price, $70!
I always wondered if those were any good! I am using an Owden maul and love it! It's good to hear Owden's other products are solid! Thanks for the comment!
@@BlackFlagLeatherGoods no problem. I've also got their #2 edge beveler. It's not to bad either, for the price. But I'm comparing it to a cheap tandy and even cheaper Amazon ones.
It says sinabroks on it with sinabroks box. The teeth that came with it are strait with no set screw divits at the bottom mine are different from there website picture. Maybe they changed it mine are similar but no set screw groves there just 2mm hole on one end an metal runs straight back I'm sry to bother u regarding this issue just wanna know I got the nice one like yall got ill delete my comment after u read it sir
Im really trying to figure out which ones to buy, between sinabrooks and KS. This has really helped though. Been using diamond starter chisels and just tires of fighting to pull it out !!!
Thank you! I'm glad it helped! I've never used KS before, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. I think you'd be fine either way. I do consider my Sinabroks punches the best investment into my brand that I've made though. Thanks for watching!
I recommend getting the 4z pricking irons. They are cheaper and you can replace the blade yourself. I recently dropped my ks blade punch on the ground and now I have to send it back to South Korea to get repaired. Don’t know how long that will take
Sorry dude. They're the hole punches. I got the 1.2mm hole ones. I've heard great things about the pricking irons as well, it's just not really my style.
Wait... you're Canadian?. Also. I have been working leather for 8 years. I still haven't justified the expense of these. I have the new Japanese punches Tandy got in late last year. They work great. But they are also way too pricey. Of course it's Tandy. Which means they jack the cost up on everything.
I am, yep! Near Vancouver. They are stupid expensive but honestly probably still the best shop upgrade I've made. Punching with crappy punches makes every step more frustrating. Oh I think I know the ones you're talking about! They're stainless French style pricking irons?
They are supposed to. I've seen the box they normally come in online. I think he was swamped when I ordered mine and he had run out or something. Either way, these are still the best tool I own. Worth every penny.
@@jlowrie33 Agreed. They could come in some waxed brown paper from a meat counter tied in some thin twine and it would mean more to me that the expenditure was focused on the tool(s) and not monogramed marketing shit.

These punches are the absolute best. Hands down

Thank you so much. Glad you liked it
They sure are the prettiest tools I’ve seen. I’m sold on performance based on all the raves over the past year. I’m still saving my $ to get few sets.
Oh definitely. I'm a sucker for anything brass. They are pricy though for sure. You won't regret buying them! Thanks for watching!
I have a set of the French style “Since” and am really considering to get the sinabroks..love brass and these seem like such good quality
You would not regret making that change. They're the best tools I own hands down.

I bought a set of cheap round punches before my Sinabroks. You're better off doing what you did. You made the right call.

Great review brother ! Might have to pull the trigger and get me a set!
Thanks dude! You definitely wouldn't regret it! Good to see you over here! You starting up a channel??
what is the difference in the sinabrok and ks irons? the look very similar from pics on the web

love to see a sewing machine video , what are your thoughts
I'm on it! I picked up a Techsew 2750 Pro a while back. Just teaching myself to use it still.
Would you stil buy the 8 prong. 1,5 mm? or go with a higher mm hole?
Hi and thanks for the review. I would like to know whats the best size hole diameter to go with ? I use mostly 1mm and 0.08 thread.
Thanks for watching!

@@nov0207 Haha I used an Amazon one until just a couple weeks ago. Just awful!
European and French style punches are not meant to go completely through the leather. You only go in slightly and then finish it with an awl.
I get my 8 hole punch of etsy it looks different than what's on sinabroks website .do yalls hole punch teeth look just like the website ?
Hmmm which ones did you get? I've never seen any imitations before? Maybe you got one of the different styles?

Sinabroks is better, they’re made by a former KS employee. He made his own design better from working on the product for KS.

Too expensive, and don't even come in a box, just some cheap packaging. For this price i'd expect a branded box.

I actually prefer expensive items that don’t come in a fancy box. I feel like I’m paying for fluff and marketing.

Poor leather choice for the video. We can’t even see the holes/lines
