    This is very similar to my idea.....I'm actually working on building one but it's a single seat & made mostly of bicycle & e-bike parts with an aerodynamic enclosure & slide out lightweight solar panels on the roof.

    From your website----"What is the price of Inde?
    The price will be as the price of a small electric car." So how much exactly? If its electric and powerd by peddling and solar power how can you justify a price that is equivalent to those expensive electric cars currently on the market? If you want to change things shouldn't your price be more like 6,000 to 10,000?

    • @Solaramphibian
      @Solaramphibian 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, you're on it! 6,000 to 10,000 USD is a good guess, but you may know that the battery and solar cells technologies are very dynamic and every year we see huge price dropdown and technological breakthrough. So I think it is more correctly to say "as the price of a small electric car", because it is relevant to the technological level.

    • @teslaNYproductions
      @teslaNYproductions 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So lower than 6,000?

    • @Solaramphibian
      @Solaramphibian 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      "So lower than 6,000?" :))) Maybe it is possible with some quality compromises, which is not the purpose.

      Yes considering a LM 48 a lead acid battery-powered costs $7,300 and seats two side by side and has a bed to haul whatever this vehicle should cost between $3,500 and $5,300.

    Nice idea. Did not see the solution for watter proppeling (paddle-wheel on the front whels?) And would make a sense (in boating group, regarding hydrodinamics and behavior of the vessel on the watter), if you use the narowest full-disc wheel at the end of the vehicle for steering both in watter and on land, and if you can to lift off the frontal axis somehow, or each front wheel separatly out of the watter. And some outriggers would make sence too, if that should not be used only inland, but also in some sea-ports.

    • @Solaramphibian
      @Solaramphibian 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice suggestions! I don't want to disappoint you, so you are welcome to reply if you agree.
      1. Water propelling - paddle wheels have quite low efficiency, but are easy to implement. For such a vehicle the better solutions should be preferred than the easy ones. And yes - there are two better options, which will not be disclosed so far - sorry about that, I beg you for your understanding.
      2. The front wheels are full-disk and will be used for steering, both in water and land. I am not sure if you mean "at the end of the vehicle" as "at the back of the vehicle". If so - the back wheels steering is less intuitive for the regular user, that's why is avoided (but it could simplify few things, so not a bad idea at all!).
      3. Outriggers - we could have them, but definitely should be specially designed in all new way.
      Thank you!

    • @ultramarinus2478
      @ultramarinus2478 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Solar Amphibian, logical points. I sugested paddle wheels, because of easiest engeneering needed to aply on the vehicle. Can imagine some fish-tail proppeler, ship srew, electromagnetic proppelers wich might work similar to turbine, hand paddles, and possibly colapsible pole with sail. But all of that increases both weight of the vehicle, and and price of the vehicle. So i assume you found out something out of the box, or extremely simplified (and brought down the price) of one above-said possibility. Congratulations with that.
      Ad 2 Yes, i had an impression, that i saw some fin-like structure (?) on the inner side of the wheel-halfaxis. It will work just fine, but I am kind of ship-oriented and therefore prefering the steering fin on the back of the ship. Also, even if you will steer by the front-wheels, the back wheel will work like kind of obstacle, if not pulled "inside" the hull.
      Ad 3 It actually might be optional, but would greatly help with stability. I can imagine, the solar amphibious vehicle to be used inland, where stability comparable to paddle-boat or canoe is sufficient, but for sea, big inland watter-surfaces with waves, or wilder rivers, the added stability might be extremely neaded.
      Inner space sugestion: Twoo seats behind each other is the right way to go. But it might be even better, if the frontal seat can be laid back, to form sort of bed, or bigger area for passangers witouth back-holders. It might be ussefull to accomodate more passangers (young families), or serve like "one-man caravan" for young fellas, who want to get to know the countryside (tourists, kind of), or, also help some culturaly-social uses of the vehicles for young couples (working on becoming young family).
      If you want to add to your vehicle, what no-other offer yet, add a possibility to have an amphibious trailer behind the vehicle (ie hook for its towing and electric connection). It adds more upward facing space for panels (and optionally additional batteries), adds another over-all storage-room, and if done right, offers EXTREME versatility and possibilites for comertial use (on that point i sugest you to check that construction - especially regarding its cargo-area.)

      @Solaramphibian 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, +Ultramarinus247, I admire your knowledge and vastness of ideas. Amphibious trailer!? - never thought of this, and yes - it could enhance the capabilities and open the door for the commercial use on water and land (I imagined commercial use for small deliveries on land, but never this one!).
      The inner space I still think it should be kept for 2 persons only, and yes - the front seat should be adjustable for both normal and recumbent driver's position.
      And you mentioned electromagnetic propellers - I don't think I know anything about this, is there any more info you could provide?

    • @ultramarinus2478
      @ultramarinus2478 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Solar Amphibian, but you give me too much credit. Regarding "electromagnetic" propulsion, i taught you may researched something smaller and more efficient than this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetohydrodynamic_drive , but working on the same basic idea.

    How much does it weigh , is it considered a bike in Thailand ?

    • @Solaramphibian
      @Solaramphibian 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will be no more than 300kg. I never checked the Thai law, but in Europe it is not considered as an bicycle or to be more accurate - as a pedelec (up to 250W engine), but as an e-bike (up to 4kW engine). This means you need a driving license M category (same for mopeds), and you need to be 16 years or older.

    Question, Can the inde be licensed as a car?

    • @Solaramphibian
      @Solaramphibian 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear +Ivan Pinney, licensing as a car is more complex and requires more funding and time than an e-bike license. It could make sense with another model if the technology becomes so advanced, that will allow highway speed and enough solar power. Before this the reasonable choice is to be licensed as an e-bike. Thank you for your interesting question!

    If this was US made it would cost 20 K, mostly because of the amphibious feature. Otherwise 15K. And they don't even show doors which would be a sealing problem or no doors means climbing in the window. This is 10 years before its time but good luck.

    • @ognyankoralski4830
      @ognyankoralski4830  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment, +Popeye Gordon. It's a single door vehicle, you could see it at 2:23. I hope to be accepted by the market for less than 10 years, in my opinion it is a matter of a good marketing.

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it weighs over 200 pounds it will never sell because pedaling will not be practical on land, only in the water. You may need a heavy ballast to make it stable enough.

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I disagree. Without a production mold the shell will be too heavy with hand layup. A teen could not make one that actually works and is light enough. It would just look like something a teen made.

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pedicabs can't climb hills without a motor and most of the day they have no passengers. They go at low speeds with high gearing. Faster than walking for sure. Yes I can pedal my ELF at 10 mph on completely flat ground but the vast majority of consumers will not find that acceptable.

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @edwong3 No, at 4000 watts it will have to be regulated as a car. That means very expensive safety testing and qualifications and mandatory insurance. It would be no fun at all to pedal. Too heavy. That's the whole point - the pedaling feature is a joke in this class of vehicle.

      Ah, but you cannot rent or build your factory building and hire employees and pay them a living wage with benefits as well. You can not afford the tooling required for efficient production. A one off from your garage is not the same thing. Business acumen is actually more essential than knowing how to make something.

      +Van Rozay - you are right - there is still no price. And no prototype at all! I consider that this is too much to be trusted, and this is the reason to delay the crowdfunding campaign. But I have good news - I found serious partners to move the project forward. We will do our best to make it with high quality and affordable price. We will announce the price as soon as it is possible to be calculated. Thank you for your understanding!
