Hmm well, you could just be completely honest and the child may pass it to you anyway. Like sure the force is a money pick. But if you say, "this card is very good, but not too good for draft. I'd recommend you pick it, but if you want a better deck for the draft I'd pick this one." All true statements. And you recommend the money card. But kids dont treat money cards well in my experience. And may become worthless after play. Honesty without guile can be painful. But it does reveal the arbitrary nature of cardboard value.
@@kinkajuu1 That's just taking advantage of the kid man. It's not punching him and taking his lunch money but not cool. The kid will understand easily a 60-80€ money card can buy more boosters, wich most likely the kid will love to do if he's playing on the first place. To put it in other words: would you be happy if you were the kid?
had an experience somewhat close to it with double masters 2022 i went throught the box with my friends since i like to open with others and the yungest in our grupe (probably about 12-14) opens the last pack and cracks a force of negation for me.
This really should've been the MtG 30th anniversary set with a proxy added randomly to each pack. If you're an older player, nothing would be nostalgic than opening up a Shivan Dragon as your rare with the mox you traded it for decades ago as your proxy.
The funny thing is, they could've sold that even as proxies if they made the boxes like 50 bucks. Make it so it's easy to draft and for peeps to have fun. And I am willing to beat if they sold enough packs to draft with 8 people for dirt cheap since these aren't real cards... they would've made a fortune off of it.
Draft of this set was great. Having a 4/4 on the field felt like having full control of the board and playing "Maze of Ith" with "Icy Manipulator" was quite the experience.
Just wanted to say these are possibly my favorite videos on youtube. Your box openings are organized and pleasing to watch with all the stats off to the side and bottom. I love it.
The draft of this was a ton of fun! Not getting a full box (the LGS price was…a bit steep and I’m trying to get into Flesh and Blood this month as well). But My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time drafting.
I wasn't able to do a real draft event at my LGS last week due to health issues, so I grabbed a box this week to do a mini-draft with friends. Fun box, but I don't think the value of the cards we opened cracked $100. Biggest hit was a foil borderless Mystic Remora(market price 10.10 as of posting). Zero tutors or any other notable cards. Glad you had better luck than I did!
Building an Insect Tribal with Golden Sting as the commander eventually, but I do love that og got a reprint. Lots of bizarre choices for reprints in DMR but I welcome them - Nut Collector in particular, even if I like the original art the most of the 3 options.
My wife and I went to our LGS for a draft, walked away with a ton of value, especially since I and Tun defeated and got a ton of packs. She ended up pulling Force and Vamp tutor. Pretty worthwhile
In my lgs here in Mexico we opened a very good box, i ended up with 3 tutors 1 vampiric (borderless) and 2 mystical (one normal and 1 retro) there was also an urza (borderless), a sylvan library and a mystic remora among other good cards foiled and alternate i think it was the best box i've seen
I bought only one of those due to budget concerns, and it was a ridiculous box. My mythics were - Retro Force of Will, Vampiric tutor, showcase Urza and Sylvan Library, Time Stretch and a foil retro Kamahl. Top rare was showcase Enlightened Tutor. :D

Funny to see Mystic Enforcer and Spiritmonger as uncommon. I remember them being rare and powerhouses during their times. Makes me miss the good times when I played.
Thanks for showing all cards from a Dominaria Remastered Draft Booster Box. The pulls I got from the Draft Booster Box I bought were even worse than yours: no Tutors, no Dual Lands, no Sylvan Library, no Entombed, no Yawgmoth, no Urza Legendary, no Sneak Attack, and most definitely not Force of Will. The best I got were Urza's Incubator, Exploration, Mystic Remora, and Birds of Paradise, total value less than $50. What's more troubling was the skewed unbalance of uncommons: twice as many Blue uncommons as any other color. That made for a frustrating draft booster experience, pretty much guaranteeing a losing game for anyone who happened to chose a deck archetype not centered on Blue. If I'd gotten something more like your Booster Box, I'd have been marginally satisfied, but your results confirm my conclusion: skip the Booster Box ritual, just research the cards you need and decks you want to build in advance, and buy individual cards in 4X playsets directly online or at your local game store.
The problem with this set is that only a quarter of the rares are worth anything, and there are only like 10 cards worth more than $10, all of which are Rare or Mythic. Combined with a $200 price tag, and this set absolutely is a "buy singles" situation.
If you're opening packs for value, you should be opening the collector's boosters (tho singles are always best if you're looking for specific cards, regardless of set). Draft boosters should only be opened for gameplay, or just the sheer enjoyment of it.
its not super value, i kinda knew it wouldent be despite the waulity of cards, they have been reprinted some quite a few times, also it's its a draft set not a modern masters. which nowwadays tend to add new op modern cards which are super high value cos they're only printed in that set.

Went to the release night draft at my LGS for my very first draft. I lost every match, but this was a fun set. Definitely looking forward to future drafts now.

The draft experience, card selection, treatments, and price point. I really wish this was a print to demand product. With a lighter release calendar it could be some to return to throughout the year. Just wish the land retro frame treatment wasn't so dark.

This would be a really interesting study with a control group of 10, to ensure 1 box wasn't super lucky. However the perceived value was good in this, having the ability to resell those cards is a hurdle for a lot of people. Some of the cards under $1 are going to be tricky to resell unless it's locally done, as online auctions have fees and shipping which puts people off

I've tried several times, but I have no clue. What happened at 6:08 and onwards? Money counter was at 75.95, then with the Retro Entomb it got +12.22 and went to 88.17, but after the booster ended and we moved to Pack #10, the counter went back to 75.95 (at around 6:16). Also dont know why the numbers didnt turn green after it passed the 180 goal. It did for the 110, but not for that one. I was confused at first, then I thought I was just remembering wrong, but now Im sure it remained red. Very entertaining video. I dont know why, but I enjoy watching pack openings. It's fun!
My wife started getting meals from Factor and I was not enthusiastic about the idea until I tried one myself. THESE ARE GOURMET. They cook in about 6-7 mins in the microwave and taste phenomenal. The pork medallions are amazing and I’m not big into pork, but the chick dishes are all excellent. Worth the price and makes eating healthy super easy. I’m no shill but, it’s that good I don’t mind spreading the news.
It's still a fun set even at the higher than usual price. I'm just glad the price my LGS initially quoted me was actually way lower when I went to pick up my order👍

Both the Dominaria Remastered and Brothers' War openings seemed to have a handful of cards that were bombs, while everything else (even if was above $2) was not worth trying to sell. At least you got a Lord Protector, though. I wanted a copy so I could put him into different decks (my playgroup okays proxies as long as you own one copy of the card) that revolve around either artifacts or instants/sorceries, but even going through a whole collector box didn't get me one.
I could be talking out of my sideboard here, but I think it would be cool to see a count of how many cards in each box are over the value to sell. It would help show that out of the 540 cards how many had that level of value.
Pulls were crazy on mine, borderless and regular force of will, sylvan library, incubator, doubles of mystical and enlightened tutor, and a bunch of other stuff
The first deck I made with this booster box was red and white with tiana, ships caretaker. Put a bunch of artifacts and enlightened tutor to grab my thran golem and enchant it asap.
I think wizards knew your video was coming out today. While it might have still come up short on the second box, it would have been much closer to $165.
I payed 200$ at my LGS and got back around 150$ not a bad haul upgraded my 4 commander decks but will go back to buying singles now that itch of buying a box is gone until said itch comes back.
I recently went to two of the three local game stores I am aware of in a city of 1 million people. Neither of them had opened JumpStart 2022 for singles; one even no longer sold any singles at all. The problem is of course that the LGSs, in contrast to the end consumers, are indeed playing the Booster Box Game whenever they crack one: They have to at least break even, or cracking packs in order to sell singles is no longer worth it.
After getting a borderless from my coll and a retro from my draft box so far, this video suddenly makes me worry I won’t get a force out of my next box

I got a box, and I got over 20 phyrexia: all will be one rare cards! including blue sun's twilight, 2 of the fast ally land, the new kaya, and many others... Also a force of will, a sylvan library, 4 worldly tutors (1 normal, 2 retro frame and 1 extended), an enlightened tutor, an exploration, and 2 mystic remoras (1 extended), and a bunch of other +$2 cards... So I got reeeeeally lucky!!
From what I understand that was from a printing QA issue. It doesnt feel bad to get new cards early but if it replaced a force of will I'd be a little peeved.
It's hard if you don't pull a force of will. Look at the prices of singles. These boxes will go down in price because of it. Expect to see sub $150 for draft before long. Collectors will probably retain value even though you can get completely hosed and pull less than $100 in value for what Is close to $300 a box.
i know you said at the beginning you're only counting rares mythics and foils but that elvish spirit guide at uncommon is worth a pretty penny right now, or at least it was a few days ago

My box has been VERY similar. Highest value so far is a Sneak Attack. I have six packs unopened, but might hang on to them. Prof's box is crazy.
Built a Xira, the Golden Sting deck when she came out with Dominaria United, I'm happy Xira Arien got a remaster - The foil she deserves to be!

The collation on this is interesting. I opened a box and I matched 29 out of 36 rares from the first box in the video. Can’t complain, though!

Borderless Urza seems to be pretty common! I picked up two so far out of one box, and a draft going on nearby got _four_ out of one.

I got a super lucky draft box. Got a foil extended art force of will and a standard force of will. So psyched.
As far as ''masters reprint'' set they've done, this one is up there with eternal masters.

I noticed how some of the basic lands are reprinted art from very old sets. I really like those arts that they have reprinted for those basic lands.

The first deck I made with this booster box was red and white with tiana, ships caretaker. Put a bunch of artifacts and enlightened tutor to grab my thran golem and enchant it asap.

I expected a little more pricewise, but nevertheless, it was absolutely fun to watch!
My box had 80 dollars in value without the basic lands........
I payed 200$ at my LGS and got back around 150$ not a bad haul upgraded my 4 commander decks but will go back to buying singles now that itch of buying a box is gone until said itch comes back.

Regardless of the prices you opened, it is a fun set.
I recently went to two of the three local game stores I am aware of in a city of 1 million people. Neither of them had opened JumpStart 2022 for singles; one even no longer sold any singles at all. The problem is of course that the LGSs, in contrast to the end consumers, are indeed playing the Booster Box Game whenever they crack one: They have to at least break even, or cracking packs in order to sell singles is no longer worth it.

I got a box, and I got over 20 phyrexia: all will be one rare cards! including blue sun's twilight, 2 of the fast ally land, the new kaya, and many others... Also a force of will, a sylvan library, 4 worldly tutors (1 normal, 2 retro frame and 1 extended), an enlightened tutor, an exploration, and 2 mystic remoras (1 extended), and a bunch of other +$2 cards... So I got reeeeeally lucky!!
From what I understand that was from a printing QA issue. It doesnt feel bad to get new cards early but if it replaced a force of will I'd be a little peeved.
I’m honestly surprised this set only made it to the second box. I’ve pulled amazing value from this set so far.
It's hard if you don't pull a force of will. Look at the prices of singles. These boxes will go down in price because of it. Expect to see sub $150 for draft before long. Collectors will probably retain value even though you can get completely hosed and pull less than $100 in value for what Is close to $300 a box.
It’s interesting because I don’t think the packs that are being called draft were ever called draft packs.
i know you said at the beginning you're only counting rares mythics and foils but that elvish spirit guide at uncommon is worth a pretty penny right now, or at least it was a few days ago
