Vietnam is an agricultural country. The war ended in 1975, but in reality it was not until 1989 that Vietnam actually ended the war with the Khmer Rouge and China. Vietnam came out of the war with a body full of injuries, its mining infrastructure was completely flattened, then was surrounded, isolated and economically embargoed. It was not until 1994 that Vietnam was lifted from the economic embargo. In fact, Vietnam has only been doing business for 28 years and this is the result of our great efforts!
OH! This comment of mine attracted many traitors to the country for money. They lost and had to ask for political asylum. Now they return to slander, lie, and fabricate about Vietnam.

You are absolutely right. Vietnam was sanctioned by many wealthy countries until sanction lift and normalization in 1994 with the US. The one thing, not many aware, helps Vietnam is that thanks to VietKieu who sent a lot of US money back to their relatives. Prior to 1994, Vietnamese government then possessed a large amount of US currency in reserve that created an interest in US foreign polity. Since then VietKieu have not stop sending money back to their relatives including their tourism in Vietnam. Average VietKieu brings back to Vietnam about $3k for single and $10k for his/her family. With VietKieu moneys, in a way, help Vietnam economic recovery and improvement faster.

Commie Vietnam is actually a disguised combination of modern-day neofascist regime with state owned means of production and quasi-state owned corporations (like VinGroup, VietTel) and corporate cronyism, and modern-day neo-feudalism with enslaved Vietnamese citizens sent abroad to work as indentured servants in exchange to send remittances back home generously taxed by the regime. This structure has existed for decades now to serve the tyrannical and parasitic 5% of the Vietnamese Commie Party government officials and their associates that together, in turn, serve their master Commie China that come to their aid to brutally suppress any internal revolts by the Vietnamese population. Pham Nhat Vuong, the richest man in Commie Vietnam, that has allegedly earned the bulk of his wealth (via VinGroup) from developing and selling real estates on stolen lands of poor, connectionless Vietnamese citizens, directly robbed by his accomplices the utterly corrupt and brutal Vietnamese Commie government officials. Dude wanted to scam US investors too with his IPO of VinFast to sell its low quality, high priced junks, but knowledgeable investors evidently avoided VFS like a plague of a meme stock, cratering it to all-time low shortly after IPO. Showing their traits, Vietnamese Commies abuse and oppress Vietnamese citizens domestically, deceive and defraud world citizens internationally, bringing only shame and dishonor to Vietnam anywhere they go. Every year, millions of Vietnamese workers are exported around the globe as back-breaking working slaves to bring income back for the fat cats their slave owners, the parasitic ruling Vietnamese Commie government lowlifes that live lavishly on the tears, blood, and sweat of the exploited laborers, and routinely dine on $100K per meal of 24-karat gold laced steaks and luxurious wines in Salt Bae restaurants, as exposed from a leaked video about Vietnamese Commie Security Chief named To Lam that drew international condemnations, while many Vietnamese citizens live in poverty, including elderlies in their 70's and kids as young as 10 years old selling lottery tickets on the streets of Commie Vietnam for $4 per day to survive. For Vietnam to be free again and prosperous, with human rights respected again, it is a moral imperative that the barbarian and parasitic Vietnamese Commie regime must be obliterated.

About a few weeks ago, I saw a few Vietnam electrical vehicles on display outside a Vietnamese's supermarket. These vehicles have a V logo. At that time, I didn't know they were from Vietnam until I watched a TH-cam channel, and I think these EV is called Vinfast. Vietnam has improved a lot; however, there are also much need to be done. I think Vietnam should try to improve transportation infrastructure like multi-lane freeway/highway where a cargo container truck can deliver goods from HaNoi to SaiGon or anywhere within the country for about 6-8 hours.

@@thethaovatoquoc312 Regardless, I think a country like Vietnam that was forced to kiss by numerous empires somehow can build an electric vehicle is quite impressive. When I was young, many Veit kieu told me that Vietnamese people can't really build anything good, not even a good bicycle so what anyone can be expected. They are so ffing wrong. I have to admit not many comparable countries in the world can build machinery, automobile, or large infrastructures. Vietnam has been improved a lot (impressive) and mostly due to generous spendings from foreign tourism.

As long as Vietnam is still ruled by the oppressive and exploitive Communist regime, her potential remains greatly diminished. For any 1% that wants to stay, 99% of the population wants to get out, and many have risked their lives doing just that (for example, 39 doomed lives found in UK container truck recently on the news, and that's only what's been reported), unfortunately. Yet another shocking and also recent example is that during the Covid pandemic when almost all countries assisted their citizens with financial aids in one form or another, the corrupt and murderous Vietnamese Commie regime saw it just as another opportunity not to help but to exploit its ruled citizens even more, essentially making money over the corpses of its citizens by presumably killing at least 30-50K of them, due to grossly misdiagnoses and being thrown into barbwired unhygenic living quarters for isolation, so that they had to sleep on concrete floor, even next to filled trashcans, with inadequate toilet, food, water, or medicine, like animals (searching hard enough, one is able to see shocking video clips on Facebook though the regime tried hard to crack down the leaks by Vietnamese citizen journalists), with the fake nostril Covid test kits, mislabeled as approved by World Health Organization (WHO) in Việt Á scandal, colluded by at least 4 different government agencies (Y Tế , Khoa Học, Công Nghệ, Quân y) and the top Politburo members, including Nguyễn Phú Trọng, Phạm Minh Chính, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. Murderous Vietnamese Commie regime even had a thug murdered Christian pastor Giuse Trần Ngọc Thanh, like it has done with many other pastors across the nation. There is a reason why the current Commie Vietnam ranks at the bottom of the world in freedom of speech, (true) freedom of religion, and freedom of the press, barely above Commie China and Commie North Korea. There is no true freedom of religion in Commie Vietnam, as this corrupt Vietnamese Commie regime only authorized the fake organizations headed by Commie monks, many of whom were Commie Party officials, and those religious organizations not approved to be infiltrated by them or headed by their Commie agents are accused of malicious and nonexistent crimes and banned, with innocent religious leaders arrested and jailed, as in the recent case with Thiền Am Bên Bờ Vũ Trụ, a harmless Buddhist meditation monastery, for simply having many followers (hence, more influences that the regime fears it can't control) than the Commie Party's officially approved ones. Similarly, its passport ranks at the bottom, 89th out of 111 countries for a reason, barely above North Korea 104th rank. even below many African nations. For comparison, South Korea is at 2nd rank. That's what Republic of South Vietnam would have likely been ranked among at least the top 10 had it not been invaded and occupied by the North Vietnamese Commie terrorists, aided by Commie Soviet and Commie China. Search "cuop dat dan" (meaning "land-robbing of citizens") to see millions of footages across the country from North to South, spanning for decades, dated back to Ho Chi Minh's bloody land reform 1953-1956 that killed nearly 1 million North Vietnamese in only 4 years, or 250K people brutally slaughtered in torturous painful deaths (like being shot, stabbed, mutilated while being alive, or heads being plowed over by water buffaloes while bodies being buried underground) each year on average to rob their lands and homes. Even today, if the rightful owners refuse to have their homes or lands robbed, the ruthless Vietnamese Commie terrorist regime simply jail or massacre them, have tractors run over their bodies or openly assassinate them in their own homes. When it comes to robbing, these barbarian Vietnamese Commie bandits even prey on each other, just as the recent case with then 84-year-old Mr. Lê Đình Kình, a 55-year-Commie Party veteran from Dong Tam, near Hanoi, that got shot dead at 3am in his own home by the Vietnamese Commie terrorist regime. When his wife Mrs. Dư Thị Thành refused to lie about the incident as ordered, the Vietnamese Commie terrorist police brutally tortured her (see more details from "dandongtam" on Facebook). The corrupt Vietnamese Commie government officials routinely dine on lavish gold-plated Salt Bae steak $100K per meal with blood money not just from taxpayers but also from robbed-lands and robbed homes recently drew international condemnations, while many Vietnamese citizens, including elderlies in their 60's and 70's as well as kids as young as 6's to 16's selling lottery tickets on the streets to survive on $2-3 per day. Even Phạm Nhật Vượng the richest man in Vietnam (via his VinGroup) made the bulk of his wealth mainly by colluding with the barbarian Vietnamese Commie regime in selling their robbed-lands from Vietnamese citizens. Travelers to Vietnam in her current form (not at all like this before the Communists took over) should keep this in mind. Behind the beauty of the land and smiling faces at popular tourist destinations, there are a lot of darkness and tears, bloods, sweats, sorrow, horror, and sufferings all over the country.

If you have a decent salary here, day-to-day life can be very content. People are generally nice and genuinely caring. Friendship usually lasts a lifetime as people stay in close proximity. A little toxicity here and there but you learn to live with it. Constant sun exposure plus people always being in your business makes it hard for one to feel isolated and depressed. Food is ridiculously cheap, abundant, diverse and crazy good. You can get food deliver to your house for 1$USD(shipping cost), total is around 5-7$ for a mid-tier meal. On the other note, holycrap I hate the traffic! I HATE HATE the traffic! we have too many motorcycles clogging the roads, traveling a distance of 3km can take 40 minutes during rush hour. There is little to no hope of improvement in transportation, that is one major drawback. Also I live in the economic center of Vietnam, I don't know about the other regions tho. But other sectors stay hopeful.

man, not too long ago Vietnamese suffered not only from the aftermath of war but a 15 years long of embargoed from both USA and China. That means we lacked of very basic necessities that are necessary for the life of a human being during that time. It was very common for my parents' generation to eat "bo bo", foods that supposedly fed to live stocks, and only the wealthy upper class family could afford a meal with rice and some meat. I do not wish war upon any country as we Vietnamese people understand how long and hard it takes to recover from it.

It's good to know that the world acknowledge the achievements of Vietnam, but it's too soon to say anything for sure. Vietnam has actually and effectively been in peace and trade freedom for only 29 years since the US lifted its embargo in 1994. Other countries have been living in peace for much much longer than that. What Vietnam needs to focus on now is to make good decisions and not rest on its laurels.

China wants to help build the high-speed train as a "one belt one road" effort but the government finds the loan from China not safe, it is like a trap for which we may have to pay. By losing ownership rights in some areas like Cambodia, it lost control of the power grid, deep-water port, and more than 4,000,000 hectares of agricultural land to Chinese businesses. Same with the bandit...

I love Vietnam. One of my favorite places. But all these videos seem to show that everyone is doing well there. It’s not the case. It’s still a really poor country with poverty on display everywhere. My girlfriend still gets “fines” she has to pay to police officers on her new scooter. Sure this country isn’t anywhere near where they were in the 80s but it’s not a modern powerhouse these videos make it out to be. That being said, it’s the one Asian country I would feel comfortable investing in. Especially while it’s affordable.

Until 1984, Vietnam was still at war with China. After the end of the war with the United States, Vietnam was surrounded by an economic embargo. Up to now, it has only been about 30 years of integration and development. Of course, there are still many problems that are not good, but the time it took to bring Vietnam from a poor, backward country to what it is now is a success that not every country can do. With a foreign policy and With adjustments, the future of Vietnam will go even further.

As a result, Vietnam will not be able to surpass Thailand. The fundamental problem in Southeast Asia is that it has developed from a primary industry to a secondary industry, not from a secondary industry to a tertiary industry. Most of the manufacturing companies that exist are Japanese and Korean companies. You can only see that Vietnam's No. 1 company in market capitalization is Vin, a real estate-based group. None of the developed countries is a real estate-based group. The No. 1 company in market capitalization in most advanced countries is based on IT or high-tech manufacturing. Toyota in Japan. Samsung in Korea.

After the United States withdrew, Vietnam immediately planned to invade and occupy the entire Indochinese Peninsula. They first invaded Cambodia and began to invade Myanmar, while also starting to work on attacking Thailand. Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia were frightened and requested Chinese assistance, while China sent troops to attack northern Vietnam. At the same time, troops were also dispatched to Thailand to prepare against Vietnamese invaders.
That's why China, like the United States, has also begun to sanction Vietnam.
Nowadays, Vietnamese education has skipped this paragraph and described itself as a victim. Ordinary Vietnamese people seem to truly believe this, which is quite interesting.

And after many years when the genocidal group in Cambodia was brought to trial, no one talked about the Americans, they ignored the Khmer Rouge attacking across the border to kill the people of An Giang province. Myanmar people should thank Vietnam for saving them from destruction. In just 4 years of power, the Khmer Rouge killed 3 million people. Most of them are intellectuals so the remaining Cambodian people now are terrible.

Your propaganda in Vietnam is very poor, and I have never told you that in 1975, the Vietnamese Communist Party planned to invade and occupy the entire Indochinese Peninsula with the support of the Soviet Union. It is precisely because of your ambitions that China and the United States stand together. And the ASEAN organization was also established to counter your ambitions. Thailand will always be the enemy of Vietnam, because you have already started attacking Thailand back then, and they have to request assistance from the Chinese military. At the same time as China and Vietnam went to war in 1979, at least two PLA divisions also entered Thailand to prepare to counter Vietnam's aggression.

Besides the facts citizens can not vote for the nation leaders and provinces governments, Vietnamese commy leaders care for their citizens' well being more than democratic Canada. That's the truth and I am a witness. I don't even have my family doctor for 20 years. When you go to hospitals if not an emergency it's not uncommon you wait for the whole day to see doctors and it's been more than 15 years like this. There are cases that people died before they could see the doctors. Government doesn't know how to fix this broken health care. Private hospitals are too expensive. Food prices have increased 25-40% and salary remains unchanged. Petrol costs almost $2 dollars per litre. I already made my decision of leaving Canada for good when saving enough money.
