    Last year was totally on Adam’s. Vancouver made a coaching change and they are in the playoffs. Oilers were struggling and they made a coaching change. he chose to sit on his hands all season

      I agree. Especially with it being Tocchet. But it's funny. Tocchet has a habit of outwearing his welcome quickly. And Vancouver always seems volatile.

      @@mikemayhem39 what I would do is trade 2-3 first rd picks and whatever prospects they want for Brady Thachuk. We need a big time player added to top 6. Quinn and Peterka will get 30 goals, Tuch, Skinner and Tage should get 30, Dahlin had 20, scoring from D will be high with Byram. They need a 3rd line that can score

    Hope he sticks to his word and brings in some veterans with some abrasiveness and grit for the bottom 6 forward group. Will Adams trade the 11th overall pick in this years draft to bring in some veteran forwards? Hope so!

    • @grumpyscott17
      @grumpyscott17 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Agree with you except for trading the 11th pick. I’d rather he use the glut of undersized winger prospects we have as trade bait and keep the 11th. We have too many similar guys that should be ready at the same time. Not enough room for all of them, so I’d rather extend the prospect pipeline out a little longer.

      Trade the 11th pick in the draft for aging bottom-6 veterans? Sounds like a panic move, so I fully expect that to happen.

      @@aaa7189It wouldn’t of been me who reamed you out because I agree with you. Not only are they undersized, but aside from Ostlund, they all project as wingers. But a trade or 2 can fix that so it’s not a bad problem to have. Wahlberg may be our best hope for a sturdier winger.

    Blah blah blah, Kevyn. You’re entire “interview” could have been cut down to three words as to why the Sabres failed and regressed this past season:
    It Was Laziness.
    I’m looking forward to seeing how your spoiled talented brats respond to Lindy. If Ruff can’t get them into the playoffs this upcoming season, there will be no reason why Pegula should keep you in charge.

    Excited Lindy is back. Kevyn is up, though. It's time for him to deliver in the summer, because he hasn't. He's been overcautious. I believe. Go Sabres.

    • @BillyBuffalo354
      @BillyBuffalo354 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      How has he been overcautious? Lmao. He traded away Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, & Mitts, completely flipped the core on the team, signed most of them to long term deals, built up the #1 ranked prospect pool while also getting that young core a ton of experience, and had the first back 2 back +.500 seasons for the first the time since before the drought started. He detailed his plan when he first took over, a plan he just reiterated here in this interview: build up the core with high end young talented players that want to be Buffalo Sabres, identify and sign the ones worth keeping long term, build up the organizational talent and depth to setup for sustained success, be patient, and don't try to rush things by trading picks and good prospects until we reached a point where we're ready to push for the next level - which he just said he feels as though we are reaching that point now. He hasnt been overcautious at all. He's done exactly what he said he was going to do. It just feels that way because we overachieved a year ago so everyone wanted big moves in the off season. He's done a great job building the team the right way, as painful as its been to endure more seasons of no playoffs.

    • @grumpyscott17
      @grumpyscott17 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      My problem with Adams is he’s openly talking about adding a top 6 forward and adding some grit to the bottom 6. He should’ve done it last off-season, especially after Quinn got hurt. UPL bailed this team out or else they would’ve finished bottom 5. I think adding Ruff is a good start but this team is starving for on-ice leadership. Lindy’s 05-06 Sabres had vets like Grier, Hecht, and Numminen to play key roles and lead the kids. Going with Okposo, Girgs, Jost, and a washed up E.Johnson was a big mistake IMO. Adams has done a good job stocking the system but he hasn’t yet been able to construct a winning roster. He’s got another opportunity this summer. Hopefully he gets it right.

    Don't be surprised if Casey Mittllestadt doesn't get the $$ or contract term he's looking for. Who knows? He might even come back for about $4M/yr for 2 years.
    What I didn't hear was an insistence by Adams to get these young, high-paid players STRONGER during the offseason. If Owen Power returns with pencil arms and the same passive attitude, that would be really bad. Dahlin & Power need to be better next season. A lot better.
