    The most amazing part of Linsanity are the smiles on his teammates' face. It's not because they earned more money, it's about they were getting to another level, they became a better team, they became better players together. It's pureness of "I love this game". It's sports. It's humanity.

    I'm still perplexed why NY let this guy go. The team was winning and the ball was moving, perfect for DAntoni's system. Lin made Chandler, Novak and Field look like All Stars, think about that for a second. Then Melo with the max ISO is the opposite of his system. The power of NBA stars I guess.

      @exousia2002 5 ปีที่แล้ว +228

      @@johnjohnson2920 The Knicks didn't match what Houston was offering. Lin wanted to stay in NY. Lin was never a star in his earlier years, being cut from 2 teams. Unlike Melo, he had nothing in his bank account. This was the first time he was going to get paid decent money. Melo probably had already earned over 50M from his Nuggets days. He could have taken less money to allow Lin to get paid a fraction of what he was paid. The problem is that NY thought Lin wasn't worth the money and they were wrong. They would have gotten the value back because Chandler, Novak, Field were playing like All -Stars and NY was not paying them max money... and, there was so much merchandising as well... so many fans from around the world, including China and Taiwan. Even if NY wouldn't win a championship, they had the biggest viewership of all teams on TV. Even non-basketball fans were watching because of Lin.

    Lin made the Knicks watchable. Before and since... a total snooze-fest. When Lin was a free agent, they should have realized how much money there is in actually getting people to WANT to watch your games and buy your merchandise. Lin was well worth the contract he was offered by the Rockets.

      They were a 54 win team without him in 12-13. LOL and like the Knicks needed help with selling tix and jerseys from Lin. They're the biggest market in the league.
      Have you seen how mediocre Lin was on the Rockets and has been on the Lakers? Clearly he wasn't worth that huge contract

    • @JVIPER88
      @JVIPER88 9 ปีที่แล้ว +71

      Michael Gilbert Lin hasn't gotten the same freedom on the Rockets and Lakers as he did on the Knicks. Lin's play hasn't been drastically different these past few years than they were on the Knicks. In many ways, it improved. Check the stats. The difference is that he's had to play with Harden and Kobe, so the ball hasn't been in his hands like it was on the Knicks.
      Lin's contract would have been worth it for merchandising alone. Yeah, the Knicks are in the biggest market, but their biggest star is hated by most, and the rest of the team is garbage. This "big market team" is going to struggle to draw free agents. Conversely, everyone liked Lin. He was a nice, smart guy with a great story. And it opened the Knicks to the market in China.

    • @Ramel34
      @Ramel34 9 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      Michael Gilbert Lin has to be allowed to play his game. Carmelo was injured during the whole Linsanity thing and the Knicks was on like a 6 game losing streak. Even for just a brief moment, Lebron James was scared off of his pants about Jeremy Lin. If Lin have played the whole series, the heats might have lost in the first round. That’s how good Lin was.

    These are the moments any athletes want to have. I'm glad he has a ring now. He definitely made the team better. And others gotten good contracts off that season. Sad part is, Lin can still play better then most players but he's not even signed. He is definitely still a starter on some team or a very good backup.

      Lin killed it in the CBA last year. Took the lowly ducks to semifinal and lost to the eventual champions 2-1. Definitely fit and can play

    NBA did him dirty. All those Flagrant fouls and he didn't get the call. It was like around 1000 flagrant fouls but people are whining about how they didn't call travel on Lebron

    I don’t know if it is only me, but Jeremy Lin reminds me of John Stockton. Every play, he makes is the right one. Plays pick and roll basketball beautifully. Gets his bigs a lot of easy buckets. Good on the perimeter. Great in finding the open man. Forget Linsanity and all that, i think the nba missed a fine basketball player

  • @Reastein2024

    I like how Lin is a good offensive player but also a great team player the ball moves more smoothly when he's playing. He made the team better you see their face light up when he's hitting shots and asssting with the shots.

    7:13 Folks, this is NOT The Garden. I repeat. This is NOT The Garden.
    I'm a die-hard Knicks fan and I'll always be thankful for this Linsanity run. We love rooting for a 'dog in NY, and he was ours. Check his first game vs. Jersey. The crowd chanting "Je-re-my" nonstop in the 2nd half. He brought an energy to The Garden that we hadn't seen since the 90's Knicks.
