    I totally agree with you regarding Korean food outside of Korea. I have been living here in NY for 3 months and I already miss Korean food in LA. Here in NY Korean food is not inly more expensive but also less delicious. :(

    Wow, the Atoyboy pricing is very reasonable. Looks like plenty of food even without the upcharge options.

    don't think its a probably, Korean food in Korea is on a different level but its expected as its the motherland... i do agree with u regarding Korean food in NYC that i tried, its way expensive and it doesn't really taste that nice tbh...

    How does being Korean American work in terms of citizenship please? I'm intrigued as my wife is just Korean but my daughter was able to hold three citizenships (British, Korean, Jamaican). They were all automatic at birth. I've never met a Korean American 😅

    • @bykchoi
      @bykchoi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Korean American just means I’m American but of Korean descent! So I’m American by nationality/citizenship :)

      @@bykchoi thanks for that. Sorry final question as your reply was really unexpected. I understand if you don't reply (a reply from a TH-camber is rare so thanks again)....
      How did your family line cease to be Korean citizens also? The Korean nationality act states that Koreans aquire citizenship automatically at birth:
      Article 2 (Attainment of Nationality by Birth)
      (1) A person falling under any of the following subparagraphs shall be a national of the Republic of Korea at birth:
      1. A person whose father or mother is a national of the Republic of Korea at the time of the person’s birth;
      2. A person whose father was a national of the Republic of Korea at the time of the father’s death, if the person’s father died before the person’s birth;
      3. A person who was born in the Republic of Korea, if both of the person’s parents are unknown or have no nationality.
      (2) An abandoned child found in the Republic of Korea shall be recognized as born in the Republic of Korea.

      Hahaha I’m not sure how it all works. My dad was a US citizen when I was born and mom had a green card at the time. I’ve never had a Korean passport/citizenship. What an interesting topic though! :)

    • @nathanielmills4678
      @nathanielmills4678 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bykchoi fascinating stuff.
      depending on your date of birth you might actually technically be a Korean citizen too as the right for children to be Korean was extended to mothers (second paragraph):
      A child born overseas beginning June 14, 1998, to a father and mother who became naturalized (or never had Korean heritage) before the child’s birth, the child DOES NOT have dual citizenship. If either the father or mother was a Korean national at the time of the child’s birth, the child IS A DUAL CITIZEN and the birth must be registered in Korea.

      @nathanielmills4678 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ignore that, I realised you are older 😂
      It seems at least there is an easier visa path for descendants of Koreans so the link is most definitely still alive! 🎉

    Most of these spots are tourtist traps…tbh I think there are far better authentic Korean spots in queens and across the river at fort lee and palisades park. Asking a local might be smarter

    • @bykchoi
      @bykchoi  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t call them “tourist traps” but definitely some are very hyped up and all are quite overpriced! Definitely want to explore more in Flushing. My favorite spot so far is Arirang for kalguksu :)
