I’m insanely excited to be able to walk through this game, coming from a morrowind / oblivion player.
This game is making me more + more ecstatic every month that goes by.
All the Gothic games were/are incredible when it comes to immersion. The worlds they provided us are, to this day, among the best ever created.
Can't wait for the remake! First action-RPG I played through.

I remember managing to get Gothic working with a pair of 3D glasses.

I really love all the words I heard in this video. And I'm hoping and praying they are not just 'marketing' words but honest truth. I am willing to believe and I am very excited to re-visit Gothic 1 with this remake.

In the meantime, how about porting those "Classic" remake changes to the PC releases? Controller support, bug patches, quest updates? Would be a wonderful way to tide folks over...:)

some of the quest dialogues were pretty funny, I remember.
I still remember this random purchase in, I think it was a Saturn in the sublevel of our Kaufhof, back then. And despite the many crashes whenever I entered a mine I still couldn't stop playing.
This remake has huge potential to be disappointing for fans of the original version, but there is a chance that it's going to be amazing and having Kai on board will only increase that chance.
Really looking forward to finding out which it'll be even though it's just sad that Piranha Bytes were shut down while this was being developed.

It's seems very good.
I tend to not like most of the remakes, maybe because many of them are trying to be better, but in many cases the developers think the original game wasn't good so they need to make it good (the director of Demon's Souls remake said something like that).
Medievil and Pokemon Soulsilver are the only remakes I really liked. I prefer to play a remaster, since in that way the developers are forced to respect the original games more.
OG Gothic is already better than Elden Ring. And now it'll also look as good as Elden Ring (hopefully). Best of luck!
Any official date for the release?
When I pre-ordered the PS5 Physical in May 2024, the release date was Dec 2024.
I think it has been changed to Dec 31st, 2025.

No original music, no original voice actors, redesigned locations... this won't give a Gothic feeling, that's for sure.

From the video it sounds like we will have the original music tweaked by the original composer. I feel good about that. As for voice acting, yeah it needs to be well done. We shall see.

wish they just remastered the originals for modern hardware. Id rather that then a next gen remake where the art styles completely butchered.
The PT was kinda bad, they changed the essence of the game too much and they made it way worse and generic.... I really hope they learned what we fans really want and expect from this remake...

I'll wait for reviews, this game was developed in the woke ages, I'll have to make sure it is 'agenda free' before pulling the trigger.
