  • I planned on putting a new upper intake on the car, but it didn't work out, so I took the car racing anyway. I'm closing in on my 5.99 goal

      Rodney is a stick driving machine and he’s got a bad ass setup. He’s revving that thing out to 6800 where as I’m only going to 5800. I’m what’s holding my car back with a conservative tune and not pushing the boost level. Trying to protect my investment for now lol

    • @russellbroadwell
      @russellbroadwell 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not to take away for anything Rodney is doing but his cars are gutted and the tracks he runs at are nearly at sea level. I am a wimp I like AC, mufflers, sound deadening, etc. Truth is my car is slow and I am jealous of his shifting ability. :)

      I just did boost vs time because it was better for tuning at the track. Boost vs rpm worked perfectly fine

    Did you ever get a baseline of what gains the intake swap netted? I swapped over to the Box R intake from a ported Cobra Intake, but haven't had the chance to hit the track with the changes. Ed Curtis of Flow Tech Inductions ported my Box R. Those are some nice et's. I've been chasing 9's myself, but find it difficult with the Density Altitude here and track conditions. My setup is a R302 block based 349 (.040 overbore), ported Twisted Wedge 170's, Comp XFI Cam, Novi2000 Blown (on meth).

    Have you thought about running an airbag in the passenger side rear coil? Kind of a cheap easy way to stiffen up the suspension on that side and keep your tire from rubbing. I know lots of guys used them in the past to help with that issue. Steeda sells a kit part #432-40947. Airbags are easy to adjust at the track too!

    Im currently building a sbf for grudge racing. Having trouble fimding a 2618 material piston which is supossed to be best for boosted cars because the metal gives. There are alot of 4032 forged aluminum pistons on the market. If you dont mind me asking, what piston did you go with?? 2618 or 4032? Tryna stay out of the custom piston range

    car lays over because of small downpipe and trying to shove everything out of a 60 something turbine.... very small backside on the turbo for a v8.. need 70's plus on backside and a 4" downpipe is optimal
