Great buggy and thanks for sharing dude. Would love to see Tamiya stick this back out into the stores for us who got back to the hobby in the last few years to experience… or give us a Madcap at least 😁
Dude i love how you mostly keep cars brushed and nimh batteries! Fellow man of culture 😂 i love nimh and brushed setups. Just very nostalgic and fun. I love high powered brushless cars and lipos too but something about my traxxas xl5 2wd stampede and my tamiya grasshopper just so much fun and you cant take them too seriously 😂
That was nice of Glen to give you the body.. Craig is a great painter. He also did an Avante body for me as well in the same TRF scheme... but that body and buggy ain't hitting the dirt... maybe I'll do a few light circles in a very smooth parking lot.....
That is one awsome paint job, and the kicker for me is i sold my super astute a week ago, seeing this make me wish i hadnt, but needed some room and pennys to buy other cars, fingers crossed they realise that this will be a big seller if they do rere it. I would defo get another 😎
What a great revisit, those first videos of the super astute were the videos I first found for your channel. Been watching ever since, how does it drive compared to the Dyna storm? Glad for another track run movie for this great buggy. Thanks for all the effort put into making videos for us.
What a great comment and thank you. The Super Astute really exceeded my expectations out there. I really thought it would be all over the place but it was totally the opposite. I have not had a chance to run the Dyna Storm on Phils Deep Woods Speedway yet.. but from what I can remember, from running it on the other track... I might have to give it to the S.A. .. There will def be more future vids on the dyna storm... so this is a good point to bring up.. which one performs better....?
Great looking car! I am learning about RC from you, and I see the car has some interesting front tires. Have you tried other tire designs? Do all buggies push the front end some regardless of the tire choice? I'm glad you took it to the track as it adds a great deal to the car's presentation. The bloopers were fun too.
Love this buggy. Makes me want to get one now. Also kinda off topic but what happened to that harry guy? He had some pretty cool cars and a nice little race track. Miss seeing the races on that track.
If you want a carbon chassis and carbon shock towers, extra speed makes them. Or at least they used to. I got Tamiya blue shocks that Tamiya recommends for the car. I also got white front and rear A-arms that are supposed to be much stronger. Now for the bad news, this car was a limited edition so it is now hard to get. Thoughts?
I saw that Xtra Speed makes the carbon fiber...perhaps one day I'll get my hands on that. I never knew there were front and rear arms in white. Who makes those? Tamiya is very unpredictable, so while they say its a limited edition, it wouldn't surprise me that they'd put it out again. They keep rereleasing the Avante Black edition.. Who knows...
@@RCRetro I got the white arms on eBay. They are not original Tamiya parts. They are supposed to be stronger. I have not tested this out. I was thinking they might re-release the super Astute again too. However, they already released an Astute but on a different chassis. That might cause confusion if they were to have 2 very different cars. Thoughts?
This was shot back in the early fall. But I'm first putting out the video now. I do this so that I have some track action videos to put out over the course of the winter months when I can't film on the track...b/c of the weather.
Man...I have never wished for a ReRe more. Looks fantastic on the track!

Agreed...If they released another batch of these, I'd probably pick up another one. The madcap would be cool 👍
Exactly what I was thinking Craig! 🤣
Truly iconic buggy, amazing paint job, and some superb running footage.... Loving the on board camera shots!
Delightful! 👍 👍 👍 👍
What a fun looking buggy. Remember that brushless is your fiend!
Your super astute videos got me back into rc, still running that super astute now!
Thats awesome. Glad it was inspirational and that it got you sucked back in. I love this buggy... I feel like I need to get my hands on another one..
Ari l can see why you love this so much! Epic looking buggy!
A classic tamiya in the timeline too!
Love the feathers!
Looks awesome and looks like so much fun to drive.
What a great looking buggy. Love the paint
Thank you. That under tray... wowzers....
Great presentation and review. Feathers are an awesome idea. This rig runs like a beast.

Looks great! I actually have the same body from Craig. Glenn sent me his painted by Craig a few years ago. Still need to build the chassis though.

Great looking buggy, looked like it was running really well too!!
It looks super sharp! A nice one to add to the collection and I like the underside.
Thanks Gavin, this one for sure is a stunner and handles great... a personal fav of mine..
What an awesome looking buggy! I hope this will be the year of the lipo and brushless for me too in at least one of my cars. (If funds allow!)
Amazing paint scheme, love it
Very nice build bro
Great run Ari, the Super Astute looks soo awesome.

Looks great. Looking forward to building a runner soon. Could you provide the info for Craig in the UK? Looking to get a paint job also.

Christmas is coming ... ;)
That super astute really hauls. What's the other buggy i saw on the on board footage?
A LOSI XXX

Finally you do brushless and lipo. 😁
LOL... yes
Dude why is the weather so nice where you are right now?!? I’m in Texas and there’s fricken ice everywhere!

When did you film this on his track I hope you'll have another track to run on this year besides his.
Nope.. You can probably expect more on-road racing at the fender bender speedway and a few races on Phils Deep Woods speedway...
@@RCRetro have you seen the new mb01?
@@bradkalman2353 yes that looks interesting as well. Might get one of those and the BBX
Please slide that wing back on it’s mounts
The slipper clutch sounds like it needs to be tightened.
What do you think of the new bbx beautiful buggy?
Love it.. Its pretty cool.. and looks like it draws inspiration from a few other older Tamiya buggies...
