The paint theme is much better than box art.
Putting the body is a challenge, the body will crack if it is a regular runner having to play around with the body for recharging every time.

Looks awesome. I totally understand what you mean about how the body fits. Super annoying on both the astute and super astute. Wait until you fit the electronics and run the motor wires out the back of the body. Your probably going to have to make more adjustments. I have a brushless set up in mine with a thicker wire gauge. I found it super annoying to fit the body. Again it looks super awesome. Craig painted me up one of these for my super astute and seeing yours makes me want to stop my current project and jump on over to getting this fitted. I need to stay focused lol....great work my friend and looking forward to seeing this run on the legends arena track.

It looks great Glenn, the fit of the body is a nightmare, I avoid paint rub by lining below the window where the battery clip goes with tamiya lining tape, I then added circles around the two rear mounting holes and up the back where the body can rub on the rear shocks. I am really glad you persevered, the Super Astute is such a good 2wd buggy, I can’t wait for the running video and your thoughts, I love it

I would replace the 2 outer front steering shafts aswell with Tamiya part 54845 3x50 shafts, they will look good with your TRF theme but I also found the stock shafts bend really easily under impact and these are much stronger, although you might be a better driver than me 😉 they also allow easier adjustment

Hi Glenn, for the servo you could fit a servo mounting arrangement like a Lazer ZXR, with a separate plate? It would mean getting a ZXR servo mount bracket and drilling / countersinking another hole in the chassis though. No idea if it would work they way you want it too but I don't see why not. That way you can have a sliding screw for adjustment of servo widths that does not protrude and both the other screws countersink to the chassis.

  • @carlomac

I'm not usually a fan of the flames, but on this build it looks fantastic. You can get those wheels in chrome would that be something you'd consider to match the stickers? Or maybe that would be too much bling. Could you trim the edges of the under tray and inside edges of the front shock tower to help the body go on easier? It seems a shame to lock all that lovely carbon under the body for fear of scratching it taking it on/off.
    Great video!

dont forget you owe us a responsible moderate, track run on this, the dark blue on the TRF, really makes it legit, my S. Astute is destined to original Astute colors and MCI decals, no paint job friends.

Yeah funny enough I’ve been experimenting with it recently, getting the front in position first is definitely an easier option 😊👊🏻

I don’t recall the body being that hard to fit. Maybe I cut more off the back of the pods.
I’ve dug out the photo of mine and I positioned the wing similar to you. Will post it on the Facebook page.

That is stunning fair play but when
It comes to fitting the body wouldn't it be easier to go front to back. Any awesome looking car thanks for the vid 👍

I have a super astute, and I think it might be easier to put the body on front first. That modified front shock tower might be making it harder. Also, a flat head screw for the servo mount should sit flush with the chassis, and not go through.
