My heart hurts for you. You are a huge role model for me. I was a nurse for 10yrs and STRUGGLED so hard. I was blessed to become a stay at home mom but I still had my struggles. I am so sorry this is happening to you and your channel. If TH-cam usually gets about 60% and now they are getting 100% - they don’t actually have any incentive to fix their system. I like it when content creators share their favorite items - not just sales advertisements - actual favorite items. So I would absolutely watch your ADHD household favorite items videos. I think you're awesome, and I totally support what you're doing. Sometimes I accidentally click on those ads that fill half the screen on my phone, but otherwise I don't click them. I hope they fix the issue for you. This is awful to hear.

I totally agree, isnt the idea of adds to entice you to click on it & buy? Personally the ads get on my nerves I just sit waiting for skip to appear. It sounds like youtube are scamming creators to get out of paying them. Keep going love your videos, don't let them get you down, but dont let them get away with it either.

I’m so sorry this is happening. In case this info is helpful: when watching TH-cam, I watch during ads until the “skip” button appears and then usually skip over the ads. However, I have noticed lately that some of my favorites are doing their own ads. In this case, I always listen and keep watching. I know the ads are necessary in order to survive on TH-cam. And honestly, I would much rather hear the voice of the person I’m listening to anyway. So…if you get the chance to have a sponsor and do your own ads, I will gladly listen to you. BTW: thank you for caring for others and for being a nurse as well. My daughter-in-law is a night shift Labor and Delivery nurse, and I know nursing is very hard, exhausting work. I don't get the clicking on ads part. Do you mean when an ad pops up, if we click on it to learn more, that it actually hurts the content creator? Or do you mean when we click the "skip ad" option that it hurts content creators? I rarely click ads because I'm not interested in them, I'm interested in the video I'm watching. But I click the skip ads option all the time because I want to get back to the video and some ads are really long! But there are no ads with these videos so I don't understand the clicking on the ads here. Can anyone explain? I appreciate and want to learn. Thx. 🙂
No it only hurts if you click multiple times. They think I’m getting people to game the system by getting them to click over and over in an unnatural way. Feel free to click ☺️
Oh man. This is so unfortunate! As a creator myself, I didn’t even know this was a thing! I wonder how this could be avoided in the future. Obviously, you are working really hard at sorting it out. I have to wonder if something is really wrong with TH-cam because just in the last few weeks or mo. There have been so many ads! It seems like every 5 or 10 minutes!

I have made so much progress since joining this community. I am very thankful for that and for you. I have found my personal style and comfort while trying to improve and streamline my attachment to things. Passing them forward to another person or family they would be of service to brings me the most joy. Selling many items would be better for us financially even for a small fee but giving it away feels better. So clearly I still have some work to do; that said it's great to have a safe place to learn and grow together. Thank you for sharing your experiences and passion with all of us.
So unfortunate! I wonder if it’s from people like me 🙈🫣 I listen to your videos (and many others) while I clean, meal prep, and declutter. Sometimes that means my phone is in my pocket getting jostleted around, and sometimes my pocket decides to pause or skip videos, and sometimes it decides to click ads. I’ll be more mindful to control the pocket clicks as much as i can, but wanted to share this as a possible idea since it seems to be happening to a lot of creators. Happy holidays! ❤
I did not know that by clicking the ad it negatively affected you. I mainly watch TH-cam on my phone and have accidentally clicked the ad. I will definitely be more careful.
You ca click skip and you can click on an ad if it’s something that interests you. It’s probably a bot of some kind, but humans can also avoid doing the problematic thing, which is to click on many adds in a row. So if you click on one, it’s okay. Just don’t go on and on, thinking it will help the person whose channel it is. Thanks!
Robyn I’m so sorry to hear what is happening with your channel. I honestly cannot imagine how you get so much done in a day with the hectic life you lead. As someone with the tiniest channel I don’t understand the monetization side of TH-cam and probably never will. I’m happy that you’ve found good reliable people to help you with your channel as that can be very time consuming. I am completely useless when it comes to editing, etc. so my videos are simple. If I actually made money I would definitely love someone to help me too. I hope all of this can be straightened out and that you will make the money you deserve. I have noticed when I click on the skip ads button, it won’t skip. It doesn’t respond until I click it two to three times. A few times when it does work, it starts the ad again and the skip button is no longer there. I’ve had to exit the TH-cam video and come back to get past the ad that won’t go away.
I see the Costco corn chips on the counter. I love them so much. I was already addicted to the Lays corn chips so I wasn’t sure if these would be as good. But I love them more, not as greasy!
So Sorry about this TH-cam. You could be getting hacked. Love your videos. You have a great personality and make things like cleaning fun. Hope it all gets straightened out soon.
So sorry you are having to deal with this. I try to do my best to help those whose content I watch by subscribing, liking and, when I have something pertinent to say, commenting. I am never sure what to do with the ads though, should I let them run or can I skip partway through and not disadvantage the creator? If anyone knows Id be grateful for advice. Thanks.
You can click if you’re interested ☺️ I often watch the ads all the way to help people out, but just don’t try to game the system or YT will penalize creators. You’re sweet to think that way
The platform is the sole judge and jury of "invalid traffic" (as determined by their black-box algorithms and opaque internal processes), and they profit when they diagnose the problem (by punitively withholding revenue from creators). They have no incentive to fix it, but will likely continue scaling it up and down as and when it suits them.
I listened to this ( by the way I am a new fan and love your presentation style) with mixed feelings. I am of course, sorry that you are going through this while at the same time wondering why... as a life skills counselor I wonder what seam will rip first.. nursing and social media.. no vacation for three years? You talk about minimalism to relieve stress but your schedule is overwhelming. ( I know whereof I speak.) Now that I have trimmed my commitments ( thanks in part to Covid isolation) I have never been more content.. we don't need to do it all... so that is my wish for you dear lady.. to start asking if all of the hassle is worth it to do so much. sounds like minimalism of your time might be helpful and very rewarding.
Oh geez, I didn't know there was such a thing, so sorry this is happening. I love watching your videos and had gone back and started at the beginning to watch them. I only found your channel a few months ago so I wanted to see the other videos. I didn't click on any adds though. I wish I knew what to suggest. There is another channel I watch and the lady was getting overwhelmed with filming and editing, she also hired a few people but she took a month off and didn't put out anything but a couple of "shorts". I am sure your viewers would understand if you took some time off. I have a channel also but don't make any money, I took several months off as I just didn't have the content to put on there. I hope all this get resolved soon for you.
Something changed with TH-cam ads in the past week or so. They have become more persistent and annoying. I am willing to bet this has something to do with the changes on their end!
I have heard another TH-camr claim the same issue and was just as perplexed. The only TH-cam videos that I click on links are ones that have items they used for remodeling or decorating that I have interest in. So there there may be 3 items of interest in one video. So sorry this is difficult for you. Hoping for the best!
TH-cam claims their system is so perfect but they admit someone could be successfully sabotaging someone else's channel? I mean, there are big channels whose “haters” would love to hear that information. They obviously need a better system. 🙄
I'm sorry you are having struggles with this. Your content is so helpful and being a nurse myself I appreciate the look into how others do this thing called life. I would say you are being spammed or whatever the equivalent would be and it is something malicious not of your or our creation. Unfortunately there are people in the world who spend their entire existence trying to sabotage or cheat through the system and ruin others. I have noticed that there are videos that are taken from another source and repurposed under another name and passed off as original content. Its just one scam after another not sure the end game. I have another person I follow who's content was being stolen and they thief had 200,000 followers on stolen videos. Its sad. All this rambling to say - keep after them. They need to protect you, as the host of this platform, from the shitheads of the world.

I’ve seen different TH-camrs say others have stolen their content and and put it out under a different name. You Tube can’t or won’t do anything about it. I don’t get how but it’s being done.
I really feel this is calculating ( less paying out ). With our CBC and Spotify cut backs today, really suspicious. I just turn you on the “ TV” and get motivated.
It's absolutely a TH-cam problem. Ten Minute Bible Hour described the same problem. His name is Matt Whitman. He's a good guy. Maybe he can offer insights if you reach out.
You can skip ads and you can click on adds that interest you. It’s okay! There is this pattern that TH-cam was noticing where it looked like someone was clicking on all the ads and so it looked suspicious to them. It’s all a bit suspicious and hopefully resolved for good this time. 🤞🏼
Other content creators are also having issues with TH-cam. One channel said that they applied for their plaque when they reached 100k subscribers, but they were told that the did not qualify for it because of infractions on their channel. ??? That is so incredibly disappointing. When they asked what the infractions were, what they were told did not make sense. It's one thing to not make much money, but it's another to lose money. I'm so bummed out for you. I watch all of the ads offered on your channel, up to one minute long, but I certainly don't click on anything. I hope you can start the new year off with all of this worked out.

It makes no sense!! Isn't the whole point of an ad is to click on it with a potential purchase? Like, WHAT?! You have to click to purchase. Something is definately SUS about your conversation with YT. I would keep on them. Nobody in this life works for free.

I have made so much progress since joining this community. I am very thankful for that and for you. I have found my personal style and comfort while trying to improve and streamline my attachment to things. Passing them forward to another person or family they would be of service to brings me the most joy. Selling many items would be better for us financially even for a small fee but giving it away feels better. So unfortunate! I wonder if it’s from people like me 🙈🫣 I listen to your videos (and many others) while I clean, meal prep, and declutter. Sometimes that means my phone is in my pocket getting jostleted around, and sometimes my pocket decides to pause or skip videos, and sometimes it decides to click ads. I’ll be more mindful to control the pocket clicks as much as i can, but wanted to share this as a possible idea since it seems to be happening to a lot of creators. Happy holidays! ❤

I did not know that by clicking the ad it negatively affected you. I mainly watch TH-cam on my phone and have accidentally clicked the ad. I will definitely be more careful.
You ca click skip and you can click on an ad if it’s something that interests you. It’s probably a bot of some kind, but humans can also avoid doing the problematic thing, which is to click on many adds in a row. So if you click on one, it’s okay. Just don’t go on and on, thinking it will help the person whose channel it is. Thanks!
Robyn I’m so sorry to hear what is happening with your channel. I honestly cannot imagine how you get so much done in a day with the hectic life you lead. As someone with the tiniest channel I don’t understand the monetization side of TH-cam and probably never will. I’m happy that you’ve found good reliable people to help you with your channel as that can be very time consuming. I am completely useless when it comes to editing, etc. so my videos are simple. I have noticed when I click on the skip ads button, it won’t skip. It doesn’t respond until I click it two to three times. A few times when it does work, it starts the ad again and the skip button is no longer there. I’ve had to exit the TH-cam video and come back to get past the ad that won’t go away.

So sorry you are having to deal with this. I try to do my best to help those whose content I watch by subscribing, liking and, when I have something pertinent to say, commenting. I am never sure what to do with the ads though, should I let them run or can I skip partway through and not disadvantage the creator? If anyone knows Id be grateful for advice. Thanks.

The platform is the sole judge and jury of "invalid traffic" (as determined by their black-box algorithms and opaque internal processes), and they profit when they diagnose the problem (by punitively withholding revenue from creators). They have no incentive to fix it, but will likely continue scaling it up and down as and when it suits them.

I listened to this ( by the way I am a new fan and love your presentation style) with mixed feelings. I am of course, sorry that you are going through this while at the same time wondering why... as a life skills counselor I wonder what seam will rip first.. nursing and social media.. no vacation for three years? You talk about minimalism to relieve stress but your schedule is overwhelming. ( I know whereof I speak.) Now that I have trimmed my commitments ( thanks in part to Covid isolation) I have never been more content.. we don't need to do it all... so that is my wish for you dear lady.. to start asking if all of the hassle is worth it to do so much. sounds like minimalism of your time might be helpful and very rewarding.

Oh geez, I didn't know there was such a thing, so sorry this is happening. I love watching your videos and had gone back and started at the beginning to watch them. I only found your channel a few months ago so I wanted to see the other videos. I didn't click on any adds though. I wish I knew what to suggest. There is another channel I watch and the lady was getting overwhelmed with filming and editing, she also hired a few people but she took a month off and didn't put out anything but a couple of "shorts". I am sure your viewers would understand if you took some time off. I have a channel also but don't make any money, I took several months off as I just didn't have the content to put on there. I hope all this get resolved soon for you.

I have heard another TH-camr claim the same issue and was just as perplexed. The only TH-cam videos that I click on links are ones that have items they used for remodeling or decorating that I have interest in. So there there may be 3 items of interest in one video. So sorry this is difficult for you. Hoping for the best!

I'm sorry you are having struggles with this. Your content is so helpful and being a nurse myself I appreciate the look into how others do this thing called life. I would say you are being spammed or whatever the equivalent would be and it is something malicious not of your or our creation. Unfortunately there are people in the world who spend their entire existence trying to sabotage or cheat through the system and ruin others. I have noticed that there are videos that are taken from another source and repurposed under another name and passed off as original content. Its just one scam after another not sure the end game. I have another person I follow who's content was being stolen and they thief had 200,000 followers on stolen videos. Its sad. All this rambling to say - keep after them. They need to protect you, as the host of this platform, from the shitheads of the world.

It's absolutely a TH-cam problem. Ten Minute Bible Hour described the same problem. His name is Matt Whitman. He's a good guy. Maybe he can offer insights if you reach out.

You can skip ads and you can click on adds that interest you. It’s okay! There is this pattern that TH-cam was noticing where it looked like someone was clicking on all the ads and so it looked suspicious to them. It’s all a bit suspicious and hopefully resolved for good this time. 🤞🏼
Other content creators are also having issues with TH-cam. One channel said that they applied for their plaque when they reached 100k subscribers, but they were told that the did not qualify for it because of infractions on their channel. ??? That is so incredibly disappointing. When they asked what the infractions were, what they were told did not make sense. It's one thing to not make much money, but it's another to lose money. I'm so bummed out for you. I watch all of the ads offered on your channel, up to one minute long, but I certainly don't click on anything. I hope you can start the new year off with all of this worked out.

No, it’s apparently from people clicking the ads (like to view the advertisers product) multiple times. I just don’t think people are doing that.
