Neil is the benchmark of drumming, He has admitted in an interview he probably couldn't do half the things some drummers are doing in these modern days. But if it weren't for Neil setting the standard, and inspiring these modern day drummers. They would not have reached their full potential and become one the the best drummers inspiring a whole new generation. He is the mold that was cast.
+Brian G - This was quite a few years back. First he lost his wife to cancer and then a year or so later he lost his daughter in a horrible car accident. It was bad for him for a long time.
...and I think the way you all feel about Neil is how he remembers Buddy Rich, and I respective the hell out of him for that. Both are mesmerizing! Both are legends!
I love all of these drum solos. They are so technical and amazing. Something about the "Percussor" just gets me. I love the ethereal-ness of the sounds Neil uses in the solo. He's the only drummer I know that can take you to far off places in his solos.
Oh my God!!!. This approach was GREAT. Putting the parts of one solo into different places of the show. Game changing people. And of course, his playing was UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING! (Btw, i think he's playing better every time!).
I am guessing the vid does no justice for being at the show itself. I have been to Many RUSH shows, and the sound from all around the concert hall is amazing when Neil does a solo.

To go through what this man has gone through and him not give up his passion and gift of music is something to be admired.
what has he been through?.

+Brian g Then he got on his motorcycle on a 55,000 mile journey as a way to get away from all those reminders
Omg I met a man like that in Texas... Crazy how we all can relate... We all can learn and love from each other...
3rd solo was so fresh, unexepected and magical. Neil Peart ladies and gentlemen .
I happened to notice Rush was in my city on my birthday. Smoked one up and was soon greeted by that magical solo - Great times!

6:18: Neil kills while Geddy chills...
i was just a young teenager when i went to see Rush live back in the 80's. But i remember even as a kid i was blown away by Neil Pearts drum skills
Again, Best in the world !!!!!

Happy Birthday, Neil!
He may not be the fastest or the most technical, but every stroke I hear just sounds gorgeous!

He is just having fun.

The Master!
Most people would take one look at that drum setup and say fuck that.
it's fucking official
he isnt human
it's just impossible.
5:37 love that part
What a honey kit.
A god, in music, Wish he made it look a little hard ta do, Cant belive how simple he makes it look, He don't even sweat
His double bass drumming is cleaner than anyone's not the fastest but it's at will and controlled
Neal Peart channeling Vishnu!
Didn't really like he last one but the other two were phenomenal!
4:16 sounds like Donkey Kong Country music.
Why ad's to reap the enjoyment of others?
el gorrito es de judio?
