excellent video, just sorted mine out. One of the best instructions and practical videos in general being short concise, applicable for a novice. Many thanks
I tried for hours to follow other, much longer, videos to fix the roof which wasn't tripping the microswitches. This is the only one that mentions the adjuster nuts. Five minutes later, after discovering that my 2004 SL has 14 and 17mm nuts, I had it fixed and operating perfectly. Thank you
Hi Martin, Not being a mechanic, I showed your video to a "mechanic" which he said that this was an easy fix. I bought the part and when he returned my SL350 the roof worked but the left side flap was missing and so was the right hand side smaller flap? Turns out he broke the cable, obviously didn't loosen off the tension in the first instance so when he replaced the left handsome actuator, the cable broke. My questions are: Is this repairable with a new cable or do I have to replace the complete system as I have been advised by a local Mercedes Benz specialist? This would cost £750 inc VAT. Thanks in advance for your guidance. Best. Harry.
Hi Harry, really sorry to hear of your problems. Truth is I don't know. This is the only part of the roof mechanism I have played with on this car, as no other part has gone wrong yet. I would find a respectable independant who works on these and ask them. Good luck.

Thank you for your nice words. I try to make videos as I would want to watch them. All the details, no nonsense. :)
