I like the way you guys discuss that sense of familiarity between songs. For me, Orphan felt a little like Heretic Anthem 2.0 (not a bad thing in my mind) and I agree that the transitions between parts of Critical Darling were certainly jarring on the first listen, but I love them both for a number of reasons. I think that familiarity (or lack of) adds to the songs and where they fall in place in the album. At the end of the day, I could still break my neck head banging along to the entire album, and it’s stayed in my car ever since I purchased the CD. I think that, more than anything speaks to what a gem they produced this time around.
I'm no Slipknot fan but those shirts are SLICK! Also, they REALLY should turn over monetization on this vid at least, to you. Such good branding for them after all.
