      @@simongleed I've got the Leylands with q cab on my channel. You can winge about cab but position of the gear levers are excellent. Got a case also and that's 13years newer and still not as good on the gearbox.

      Thank you Pete for your kind words.
      To treat the rust on your Leyland try a product called Jenolite Rust Converter, its in a spray tin and when in contact with rust the Jenolite has a chemical reaction and seals the rust - excellent product you can purchase it from amazone.
      Best of luck and looking forward to more of your content. All the very best Simon

    Awesome restoration. 0:36 The Pick Up Hitch looks to be almost identical to the one we had on our Renault 781s (A.R.M. ) Its a damn good hook but there should be a cover over the latching mechanism ( If you can find one!)

      Hey thank you, we are very pleased with the restoration works. Right from the start of the restoration works we was focused on replacing everything where we can, old for new and we achieved that at a great cost but well worth it. Fantastic quick hitch it works very well indeed. I think we will have to make one as there are no new ones around to purchase! We do have the old one to copy from thank goodness 👍

    That is one gorgeous awesome looking Leyland sir! I am jealous but motivated enough to do something similar.
    Thank You for saving it and returning it to glory - better than ever! Years and years of enjoyment to come from your hard work. :-)

      Hey MarlinMR7 thank you. My brother Ashley and I had great time restoring this old Leyland 804. I highly recommend it for anyone to do. if I'm having a bad day with my business trying to figure out an engineering solution to prevent the project from taking an head dive, I would head off and spend time around this old girl with a coffee in one hand and a spanner in the other and in a odd way she became my problem solver! I would feel all the stress disapearing, the mist rising and suddenly finding solutions to my engineering problem. So yes highly recommend restoring old tractors. I do intend to restore a Leyland 472 should one come up for sale it seems these old tractors are very collectable and fetching an awful lot of money even in bad condition.
      Our project at the moment is a Bristish Chieftain Mk10 main battle tank that is coming together very nicely indeed. I will put up a short video showing a progress thus far.
      Thanks again for your kind words everytime i get a comment like yours it truly validates what we have achieved.

      @@simongleed I will add something to your reply Simon in that one other thing you and anybody who restores old tractors, cars, houses, etc. you are doing is saving history for future generations; being green indirectly vs. purchasing new; & providing proof that new is not necessairly better.
      Besides all the mentioned and I am assuming this that you are paying for things cash for the most part - bet your do not feel bad about assuming debt; paying interest; making payments either as @ least I wold and do not!
      We live in a world where things are to disposable and people assume to much debt for things they should not.
      I can relate and say that sitting on a tractor or such and solving problems in my head while far more relaxed is awesome!
      Looking forward to more to come from your channel sir! Thank You! :-)

      @@marlinmr7 I agree with you and feel the world is out of control and it worries me alot because humans instinct is survival at anycost!!
      Humans move in and wild life moves out!! I seen that first hand with a housing developement near me we no longer see deer out in the fields behind my house :(
      I will stop now because I can feel myself going on a tangent about the impact humans are having on this wonderful world we all call Earth,
      Thanks again Simon

      @@simongleed I understand, agree & know where you are going with this Simon as where I am in the US starting from the state level - $$$ and greed control more things vs. intelligence and logic.
      Oh yes can really go off on this more so but coming back around to the tractor restoration and restoration of old houses and so forth - prefer much more as using modes of transportation as an example - the cost to purchase, insure, repair and maintain on the new ones will keep a person in a life of eternal debt and it all is really about is point A to B and back again in the most cost effective manner - not about impressing others.

    Hi Simon, Great job On The leyland, One of the best examples I've seen, If I may ask, What kind of seat is in it

    • @simongleed
      @simongleed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thank you so much for your kind words. I purchased the seat from a company called TEK seating T:01892515028 or web site www.tekseating.co.uk I think it’s a United seat amd it’s the swivel type. Take a look under agricultural seats on their website you will see a similar seat to the one I purchased. If I can be of further help give me a shout. Thanks Simon

      @simongleed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. I got all my parts from Charnleys Tractors in the UK, might be worth sending an email to them as they may supply to a company in the states or Charnleys most likely post the parts to you.
      link to Charnleys web site below. They have every part for Leyland/Marshall tractors.

    How much would this tractor go for? I’ve got one and very curious

    • @simongleed
      @simongleed  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I guess it depends on the condition and whether it’s a Leyland 804 or a Marshall 804. The Leyland 804 there was not a lot of them produced before they were rebranded to Marshall. If yours is a Leyalnd or a Marshall it will be worth restoring. I paid £4,550.00 + vat for a very poor condition Leyland. I have seen none restored but working 804’s sell for over £9,000 + vat
      These old tractors are collectors tractor now so if you got one it would be worth restoring or simply dry store the tractor for when you ready to sell.

If you don’t need to sell them hold on it.
