    I'm a 72 year young man that is happily in love and married to my third and final wife. Life has all kinds of twists and turns which though not seeming to have purpose ultimately turn us into wiser people. I've been through the heartbreak and pain but looking back it was all good. I have not one single regret because to have regret is to not want to be where one is in the present. I would not change a single thing in my life because I found the most beautiful intriguing woman on this planet walking this path. So from me to you take some time to recharge the best in life happens when it's least expected. It happens we are coming to Iceland in October for a honeymoon we never took and thanks for all your videos which helped us tremendously!

      @azotic1 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@genthom72 I had a job offer from a really supportive employer before coming here. The number of people who immigrate from outside the EU/EEA is quite low, and it’s very difficult without a job opportunity or marriage. Not sure how to answer, since for me the “process” has pretty much been the entire last decade of my life.

      @@genthom72 If you personally are an EU/EEA or Swiss citizen, you can just move. If not, unfortunately, unless you have a child or spouse who is an EU/EEA citizen and willing to move with you, or is already an Icelandic resident, there is pretty much no option to come here as a retiree. Iceland specifically does not have an option for non-EU/EEA people to immigrate by investment or to retire.
      Edit: A couple European countries like Ireland and Italy will, under certain circumstances, grant citizenship if you can prove recent ancestors were citizens. If you were able to acquire EU/EEA citizenship that way, you could move pretty easily.

    Wow Jewells, I felt your trepidation as you started talking, but for some reason you have had different energy for a while. Let me say that I have the utmost respect for your forthright display of transparency and authenticity. The reality is that no one can predict the future with certainty, so there is no shame that you and Gunnar chose to part ways. I wish I were there to offer a hug and a prayer(if you are open to that). I do pray that your heart heals in miraculous ways.....that serve as wisdom for you and beneficial testimony for others. The true beauty of your disclosure is that, in spite of your fear, you have literally taken a step in your own internal liberation AND by your example, you have freed someone else to tell their own story! I am beyond proud of you, Jewells. You are strong, perseverant and truly a deep reservoir of endless possibility. May your tears be sweet and your tomorrows be tantalizing! 🙏🏼🌞🌠🌈

    Thank you for your transparency. I can tell that you are struggling through heartbreak and pain while trying to remain optimistic. It's okay to be sad and to mourne and grieve this loss. Just remember...this too shall pass. You are incredibly brave to remain in Iceland during this time. Two things to encourage you: 1) You have no idea how you may be encouraging someone else who is also struggling through heartbreak. Your vulnerability is giving someone else hope and courage to continue on. 2) I visited Iceland in June 2022, which is why I know of your channel. My spouse and I had an amazing time. I was nervous about us being the only persons of color until I found your channel. I did not want to leave after our week there. Our trip was AMAZING. Your grace and positivity are inspiring. I hope it's comforting to know that you have people all around the world rooting for you! Listened to your podcast during both of my trips to Iceland; it elevated the experience by teaching me so much. Love watching your videos until I can go again. Wishing you the best!

    Thank you for being so vulnerable with your viewers, I know that couldn’t have been easy to divulge that kind of information! Although this change is scary and different you will make it through! Thank you for being an inspiration and showing your viewers not only the good things in life but the things that most people wish to never talk about! I hope with time you gain peace, understanding,and direction!❤️

    Jewells it’s so inspirational to hear you speak so positively about this, and knowing that you’ll remain in Iceland is very cool. I think there’s a reason for that. I’m praying you’ll continue this journey you’re on in this new chapter of your life with the positive energy that makes you you. Your videos have been so educational for me (you’ve taught me Icelandic words and sayings I’ll never forget, shown me where to get my lopapeysa, and where to go to see TREES!!) and you helped fuel my enthusiasm to come to Iceland as I finally got to do last summer. I also plan to come back and I’m forever in love with it myself. I want to retire there and I literally think about it, look at photos, and watch TH-cam videos of it every day! And a huge part of that is you! I hope you always feel that love for Iceland that you do now, and I have a feeling that will continue to make amazing things happen in your life. ❤

    I’m GLAD you didn’t share until U were emotionally ready to talk about. Blessings life is a journey. Now you’re beginning a new one as this one is ending💕🌼 I married for the 1st time at 38 yrs old. Relationships are really hard for most people. I learned to not take things too serious. At the end we all have the same ending anyways, so I’m going to just be grateful and focus on the good things ☺️

    I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this sad time right now. I'm very grateful that you'll be continuing the All Things Iceland vids and podcasts. But please don't rush into it if you're not ready yet. Take all the time you need to heal. Sending you hugs from Montana!
