I memorised this entire song just to use it as a speech in the “song lyrics as a speech” assignment in my English class, it was the best thing I’ve ever done
Before I ever read the lyrics I thought this song was about a man who went crazy and became a time traveling Ninja. I now see that I was vastly mistaken XD
I interpret this song as a man or his peers reviewing how he died with lost frustration, guided by the therapist saying “did you die before your day?”, or should have died as demons and ghosts try to coerce him into insanity
I think "did you die before your day" ties into the previous line about Phineas Gage. He got a superheated railroad spike blasted through his frontal lobe and he survived as the rod immediately cauterized the hole it made through his head and went clean out the other side. His personality was completely destroyed, and he became a man completely devoid of the self he once held. A death/change of personality could be called dying before your day.

My hamilton phase was useful after all i can actually sing most of this song without mumbling thanks to my dedication to learning all the really fast raps in hamilton
this is the song you love so much but cant ever remember the lyrics until it gets to the chorus its like: "mumbling to the beat" then excitedly going "FOR WHAT, FOR WHAT, FOR WHAT ITS WORTH" and so on
I think I realized why I like this genre of music it just unlocks deep memories of watching youruber outros this one gives me dlive vibes for some reason
To the people who are trying to learn the monologue for whatever reason, check out the live in studio version of this song. The monologue is was clearer and it's spoken slower. I think it could help.
I can honestly imagine the ER room and Will Wood being the "doctor" while talking to a young boy whose relationship with the criminal mafia guy on the examination is undetermined. Meanwhile, Will Wood is slowly starting to turn the ER room into an acid trip where he's slowly starting to magic trick off of the body, even having doubles playing the dead body like a piano and blowing off the tip of the head's own saxophone mouthpiece and warp the room to match what he is saying, from what he's observing, what he's been told, to what he is reading off of the doctor's notes. During the monologue, he is personally addressing the kid through a chair while literally, PsychoAnalyzing interrogating the kid while chucking at him a ton of questions, pulling out a bunch of items, and writing down things incredibly quickly before ending up pulling out a mirror to his face which is now a mirror, before cheekily shrugging it off. Then comes the rest of the lyrics and the kid is now being treated like the previously mentioned dead body before the entire song ends with two Will Woods Neo Cortex falling (before, he just pointed up and down like Scout's default Baseball Taunt) and being pulled up by a rope like a creepy smiling doll being noosed across his neck before crashing into one Will Wood who poses for the camera with his arms outstretched, and a hop to be put on one foot with a smile across his face and the entire sequence animation ends. Basically, very Looney Tunes tone with what is clearly a horrifying situation for anyone to watch or be subjected to. I would honestly imagine a lot of musicians like Will Wood to have a very Rod Serling role to their art, heck, I would love to be looked at as a Rod Serling figure in the rest of my work. Tally Hall and Bo Burnham come to mind as other Rod Serling figures to their music.
Possible tip for keeping up with this: |Could be circumstantial, as I have no way to test this| Learn & keep up with 6up 5oh first, as both are fast paced with a lot going on but 6up 5oh isn't as lengthy. Let me know if this helps 👍 [ I'm still tripping up on a phrase, as well as the monologue. This possibly circumstantial tip just helped me with keeping up with the rest. ]

I memorised this entire song just to use it as a speech in the “song lyrics as a speech” assignment in my English class, it was the best thing I’ve ever done
this song expanded my vocalubary so much
Before I ever read the lyrics I thought this song was about a man who went crazy and became a time traveling Ninja. I now see that I was vastly mistaken XD

I would say perform this instead, but I think that month is long gone
In my endeavor to memorize the monologue I accidentally memorized the whole thing. Why this. I can't even remember my laundry
Neighbors are about to learn these lyrics along with the rest of y'all.
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO DO THE MONOLOGUE SO MANY DAMN TIMES!...my god
ive done it .>.
This gives me Willy Wonka vibes but somehow more crazy. Especially that monologue in the middle.
i wish i could apply this to one of my ocs but theres just too much going on
Apply it to all of them
My oc's are so chaotic i can apply it to anyone of them
make a new oc for this song specifically
I interpret this song as a man or his peers reviewing how he died with lost frustration, guided by the therapist saying “did you die before your day?”, or should have died as demons and ghosts try to coerce him into insanity
I think "did you die before your day" ties into the previous line about Phineas Gage. He got a superheated railroad spike blasted through his frontal lobe and he survived as the rod immediately cauterized the hole it made through his head and went clean out the other side. His personality was completely destroyed, and he became a man completely devoid of the self he once held. A death/change of personality could be called dying before your day.
It's like if you gave Niel Ceceriga cocaine and then spun him around a bit.
Holy hell I think I strained an abdominal muscle while singing this
One day, I will learn and memorize this entire song...
That day is not yet today.

@@practicemodebutton7559monologue.

Possible tip for keeping up with this:
|Could be circumstantial, as I have no way to test this|
Learn & keep up with 6up 5oh first, as both are fast paced with a lot going on but 6up 5oh isn't as lengthy.
Let me know if this helps 👍
