Thank you for your very clear explanations. I have Dupuytren's and am playing a lot of piano. I just reached 80 years old and would like to continue Playing as long as possible. Am going to look through your videos to do some of your exercises. Not yet at the stage of contractures but experience some pain and especially stiffness when playing.
I got Dupuytren's at age 49 my hands have an achy dull feeling most the time and feels like electric shock at times trying to do things. I have no contractions about 4 soft nodules and a few light cords trying to come through. And according to a Dupuytren's forum most of us have pain, but some do not. You definitely have pain when you're fingers get bent because that is not the nature of your fingers. Thanks for sharing, this is a good explanation to share with my friends when trying to explain DC.
Thank you for this. I had xiaflex a couple years ago and the recovery was amazing. I now have friends who I think have trigger finger and need to see a hand specialist, so I forwarded this video to them.
Thank you for your videos. I had trigger finger surgery on two fingers and my thumb a couple of weeks ago now. Your exercises have helped me gain strength and mobility in my right hand. I continue to make progress slowly. Thank you for explaining the exercises and the causes and remedy for each type of hand issue.
Thanks for the channel. I just had PNF by Dr Pess in NJ for the 2nd time for Dup. I am a PT but not a hand specialist so your extensor exercises were a great review. (different video) I would like to say from personal experience that the sooner the better for needle fasciotomy and don't settle for a surgeon that tells you that PNF only works on MP joints. If your PIP is involved see a different surgeon. Recovery can be quick and amazing if you see a good surgeon. Seeing an CHT for a night splint and for active extension exercises after is imperative for good result. Thanks for all you do!
This was very helpful, thank you. I have Dupuytrens, it returned in left little finger after radiation therapy. Have a referral to see what a plastic surgeon can do for me here in 🇨🇦
Thankyou for your excellent video. I am an artist and crazy diy-er. I’ve been petrified that I have Dupuyrens. Due to see hand therapist. I have pain and clicking. Feeling comforted by your video- I think I may sleep tonight now!
Thank you for connecting the Dupuytren Contracture with fascia. I'm working with frequency and I can set it on fascia. My mother had it and I have it. I've seen you rolling the ball exercises. If you have more than that one exercise, please post.
great explanation of the 2. thanks! FWIW, i had trigger finger in my thumb several years ago (back in the 1990's). it was diagnosed by my doctor at the time and he told me that surgery was an option, but success was very minimal. as a result, i opted to not do the surgery. as you stated in the video, my thumb at the time would "click" and sometimes only if i used my other hand to force it. it was very uncomfortable. i studied different possible solutions (i'm big into natural meds). i eventually found a glucosamine/chondroitin combo capsule (i always go for quality over price). based on the bottle's dosage for regular maintenance, i decided to double it since i needed more than "regular maintenance". i followed this dosage for a week or so, then upped the amount. to make a long story longer.... i eventually maxed out at 15 capsules 3x/day (that's 45 capsules/day!). sure, it was expensive, but in the long run, after several months of taking this dosage, the trigger finger TOTALLY went away (i knew i was on the right track because it was slowly improving at the dosage that i was taking). once it was all better, i slowly tapered off the dosage, making sure i paid attention to whether or not the trigger finger issue returned. since it didn't, i kept decreasing the dosage until i was totally off the capsules (took about a year or so. i don't remember the exact time frames as this was back in the 1990's). to date, i haven't had to go back on it and the trigger finger has not returned. after being healed of the trigger finger i've had full function of my thumb (something my doctor told me i probably would never have, had i gotten surgery). keep in mind, i am NOT a doctor, i am NOT trying to diagnose anybody's condition, and i am NOT saying this will work for anyone who has trigger finger. all i am doing is reporting what i did and the outcome that i have had.
That’s good to know thanks. Glad your trigger thumb went away. I have it in my left thumb. I’m following these exercises and keeping it stable when I sleep and after exercising. I haven’t seen a Dr. because I’m thinking they will prob push surgery. Natural first for me too. I may do PT. I may also try these supplements thanks.
@@christinanicholls9868 i wish you well in your efforts. hope the PT is giving you relief. if you decide to supplement the PT with an oral supplement, i can't stress enough to go with quality over price, but that doesn't mean the most expensive has the most quality either. find a good naturopathic (sp??) doctor that you trust that can steer you in the right direction. try to go with capsules NOT tablets (caps are easier to digest) and try to stay away from sources that use ingredients from china (china is a super polluted country & in my experience, their labels can't be trusted). also, do your best to make sure that the ingredients are from real food sources and not chemically manufactured. lastly, listen to your body. sometimes a particular brand that works for one person may not work for another. same goes for the quantities. hopefully your journey to recovery is a short one and that your pain/discomfort is noticeably minimized while you're on that journey!!
I had trigger finger surgery on seven fingers...one at a time...and six work now. Right hand pinky is toast, however. Now arthritic with Herbenden's nodes and nerve damage from partly successful Dupuytren surgery.
Michelle After listening to this my snap crackle pop in thumb must be a trigger condition. I recently purchased a brace at the local medical supply store , as I explained to the assistant how my thumb was popping and he agrees with your assessment. I will follow your exercises. Thank you, very informative.
Video posting person hasn’t responded to any comments-such a common bit of carelessness. I would think regular gentle-yet-determined circular massage motions on the affected palm with arnica salve or some related pure & natural plant-leaf salve could be an enormous help - anyone here tried self-treatment along those lines?😅
Thanks. This was most helpful. Your description was almost 100% spot on for my having a trigger finger of the right hand ring finger. It’s now becoming painful and it does get stuck during the day, often enough. In the beginning I only noticed it when I would wake up in the mornings. I would like to see the video you mentioned. How do I go about that? Thanks very much for your clarity.🙋🏼♀️☺️✋🏻
In the past 5 1/2 years I have had 8 trigger finger release's, 4 dupuytren's constrictions and 1 carpel tunnel surgeries. The trigger finger release surgery is nothing compared to the Dupuytren's. The dupuytren's in much more involved . The trigger finger, as it progresses will cause pain, the dupuytren's will have no pain, just the folding of your fingers into the palm of your hand. I have a friend that did not get this treated and today he can't pull up his pants cause his fingers are so curled up into his palms he can't grip anything .If dupuytren's is not treated it can make your hand useless. I waited too long on my first dupuytren's on my right hand ring finger and now it will not straiten out . I have about a 10-15 degree bend in it. The doc told me I should of come in sooner as I let it go too far. Please if you have any signs of either of these get yourself as fast as possible to a board certified hand surgeon. I am 77 soon to be 78 years old male.
@@oscargalvez7 I may add, I now have had 9 trigger finger releases 2 -2022. After the stitches ( 3or 4) were taken our, 2 weeks, my hand was fully functional with no therapy or pain med. Not even an aspirin
I know of a lot of botched surgeries. If doctors can't even agree on the diagnosis never mind the treatment. I'm more interested in treating the root cause then each symptom as it arises. My first trigger fingers developed when I was 17 years old . I did not have surgery they resolved on their own, occasionally having problems from overuse between that time and now at 65 years old . I also have had arthritis, carpal tunnel, Dupont trends, and dupentrens. Most of these things were caused by overuse . No surgery required. Looking for ongoing therapy a treatments for the root cause
Dupruyten’s seems to be an under researched condition and if you could provide any insights on what you’d do therapeutically that would be helpful. Thanks.
Hi me again 2 years later. I had an MRI on my right hand and it showed that I have abnormal fluid build up by my middle and ring finger joints in my palm. (I can't make a fist or close my hand due to immense pain) I've read that the doctors normally aspirate the fluid out of the joint. Is that incredibly painful? Do they do that in the office or do you have to go to a surgicenter to have this done.. I've already had two injections in that area this year. I'm not good with pain and even though they spray this cold stuff on the injection spot I can barely stand the injection itself. I have to see the hand surgeon tomorrow Nov 20, 2023. I just wondered so I could psyche myself up. Thank you.
Thank you. I was in a car accident and it seems the ring finger on my right hand has that light lock when I wake up and soon after moving hands and fingers it goes away. Back the next morning. It feels like the locking is happening at the second joint… so far no pain. The base of the left thumb was injured too and hurts. I am doing hand pt and several exercises are the same as you comment on. The explanation is interesting.. I heard Irish have that hand curing thing sometimes… I would like to avoid it by better care. Was a mechanic for 50 years and just turned 70 and not job working… but other things like light garden work.
Thank you, pretty much figured it out. This is something that shuck up on me slowly in the last month or so. Maybe the home therapy and exercises will do the job ?
During my trigger finger surgery, they said the tendon was worn down and partially torn. They had to shave it, not repair it. They snipped one of the pulleys, I believe. They said there was a nodule on it as well. Middle finger, but the ring finger is heading that way as well. No one ever even tried to look at anything other than trigger finger for me. It took two years of painful "trigger" finger before my poor excuse of a primary care doc referred me to an Ortho surgeon. Not sure what it is/was for sure, tbh.
Thanks for clarifying the differences. Both sound like bad conditions. Trigger finger sounds like a more hopeful diagnosis of "Don't do..." whatever repetetive action brought on the symptom. I'll be looking to see if you've posted more info on the care and treatment of trigger finger. Thanks, again... for this video.
I have had 7 trigger finger surgeries in various fingers/thumb. I now have Dupuytren's disease. Am interested in options for treatment. Injections for the trigger finger did not work for me and were very painful. Doubt that injections will work now. Please forward further options.
Thank you, Great article. The Hand Surgeon I was referred to diagnosed me with both conditions. He also persuaded me not to remove a ganglion cist in my wrist, which eventually disappeared as he said it would. I received two (steroid ?) shots and not overworking my hands has helped.
Glad I came across your video. I am 72 years of age, and very fit, in many people are surprised when I tell them of my age. I have no complaints about my body, one of the lucky ones I guess. But waking one morning I noticed that my ring finger on my right hand was acting strangely. When opening up my hand the finger was scoring like a trigger finger. So after watching your video explaining the trigger finger symptoms this is what I have. I watched one video before discovering your video that scared the life out of me, explaining that I need hand surgery. But after watching you exercise video that made me feel much better. So doing these exercises, will this put things right again. Apologies for long comment.
I would like to know what is and what causes a hard knot to develop near the outside bottom of the base of the thumb about an inch away from the wrist. I subscribed to your channel 11-15-24 It is very close to the surface just underneath the 3 layers of skin . Feels like an elongated glass marble under the skin .
I’m a female of Scandinavian decent (Viking?) who had surgery for Dupuytren’s Contracture. The contraction affected my middle and ring finger, as there was a mound of flesh beneath them. My doctor pulled what actually felt like a long cord out of my hand. Recovery was about three weeks, and it was lovely to have the use of my whole hand again. However, I was told it could come back. My sister has it, too.
Hi Patricia I am a female of German descent and believe I have this same problem. I did a phone consult with a hand specialist who said that I need to wait until it is worse before surgery should be done. I am in Canada so it is difficult to get these kinds of surgeries as we can’t pick our own doctors. If I touch my middle finger to my thumb (like the “yoga pose but with middle finger instead of first finger) I can’t straighten my ring finger on both hands.
I'm in Canada and I'm having my DC surgery on Monday. My GP referred me to a hand surgeon and I was seen in a matter of weeks. My surgery was scheduled for 2 weeks after that. This type of surgery is very delicate, so you must have a specialist. I live in Niagara and I had no problem being referred to a top surgeon in the area. So, not sure why you are having problems.
i've had trigger finger in my left pinky finger for a few years but only now have i found out what it is. i thought it was nothing to worry about because it has never caused me any pain or discomfort, its just mildly annoying when it's a bit more difficult to straighten then my other fingers. one thing i've noticed is if i try to straighten out all my left fingers, only the other 4 straighten and my pinky sits in a curved position which feels like its natural resting position. i can straighten it but its like i have to put extra effort into it. while it still doesn't affect me at all apart from being a little annoying it's definitely something i will think about getting checked out now.
I think that I have trigger finger but my GP said it was Dupoitrens. It has improved greatly since I sleep on my side with my hand flat under my pillow.I have only had to click my finger back once in months. Not saying it's a cure but I haven't needed treatment so far.
Would love more info, remedies to cure trigger finger, middle finger & extensor trndon/ligament damage on pinky finger, now slightly bent...unable to straighten, some pain like bruising, can close, occured from a loud pop in joint from sudden sharp bend after a horse inury. Your videos are so explanatory & helpful. Thanks, Alicia Odom
Thanks so much for this explanation. I just had my second trigger finger surgery on my left hand. The first surgery was on the left hand thumb. Next up is surgery and the right middle and 4th fingers. Trigger finger is painful. Every morning I wake up with swollen contracted fingers that must be straightened out with hot water. When will it stop?
Just been diagnosed by my PC DR with trigger finger after I had complained that once I get my hand into a fist, my middle finger gets stuck in a curled position and I have to use my other hand to pop it back out; having said such, I’m not sure if it’s trigger or the other condition you had mentioned. I am a diabetic that has developed peripheral neuropathy in the past two years end this development started only a couple months ago. Thanks for mentioning the other.
Hello Michelle. Thank you for your video. A few questions I have if you don’t mind. Are there any medications, if consistently taken, that could cause either of these conditions to occur in which you mention? Also, could a poor diet or mineral deficiency cause these conditions? I’m curious because out of the blue, starting somewhere in May/June of 2020 or a few months after COVID hit, I woke up one morning and experienced what I assumed was Trigger Finger in my left thumb. This has lasted about a year and just about a week ago, one day, it was gone. Today I woke up and my pinky finger on my right hand is extremely painful at the based knuckle or start of the palm. The knuckle is swollen and if the pinky moves even a millimeter in any direction, the pain is excruciating within that knuckle. I’ve never injured either of those fingers but have always been an athlete and someone who try’s to stay fit at the age of 40. Any reply is greatly appreciated. God bless and thank you.
Thank you for the short and sweet info. I had no idea what Dupuytrens is after repeatedly hearing trigger finger but this is not trigger finger. Am I looking at surgery?
Great videos. I am at the commencement of dupuytrens I think. I have a hard nodule on my palm with the tendons coming from that to the first finger (so far) and one below it towards the wrist. I don't have any bent fingers ad yet and I wonder if any splints may prevent the bending. I also have some osteoarthritis on the finger joints. I'm Following your exercises and they are superb.
Unfortunately I was told even though you have Dupuytren’s cords in your hands doctors won’t do anything to dissolve the cords unless your finger is already bent. I have Dupuytren’s in both hands 4 in one & 3 in the other. They showed up 3 months after I had carpel tunnel & trigger finger surgeries. I was wondering if the dupuytrens showed up because of the surgeries.
My husband has the 2nd one as both hands with all four fingers horribly turned under & each turns out sorta sideways away from either thumb .He can hardly hold or use for many thigs needed . He is 74 yrs old & says he is to far gone or old to get help like surgery ? I would love your opinion ...enjoyed your video ! Thank you much !!
I think that I have dupuytren’s but still waiting for my appointment with a hand specialist. Have you used Shockwave therapy to help keep the contraction at bay?
Has Dupuytren's been associated with any neurodegenerative disorders? My daughter is 37, multi-handicapped, and is being tested for a variety of neurodegenerative disorders. The last two fingers on her dominant hand have contracted but do not stick or pop.
What causes a stiffness in the thumb, where you cannot bend it. When I try to bend it the thumb springs back to a straight position. The pain is felt at the base of the thumb. This tightness releases when I sink the thumb in hot water for awhile. Is this trigger finger or arthritis? Thank you.
I have a small lump in my left hand between the two palm lines below my 4th finger. There is no stiffness in my hand, no pain and no contracture of my finger. I can move my finger just fine in both direction. No popping or snapping. The lump is not really hard or not really soft. I don't see any cord developing. How can I tell if this is a cyst or dupuytren's contracture?
Has any one seen Dupuytren’s start in a 29 F? My grandma had it and my dad had it. Everyone tells me I am too young so it is not that, but it doesn’t seem to get better with rest. I use my hands a lot for my work so it could be an old injury ( I have many that I don’t notice much anymore) but it feels hard and doesn’t get better with rest. i saw a specialist but he seemed to just write me off since I was too young to ‘do anything’ so that didn’t help much
I noticed it early on. The doctors gave me no advice. I ended up cutting out dairy and a lot of grains/carbs. Over time it actually went away. 15 Years later and started eating badly it has returned in my other hand and is more severe. So I have changed my diet again and hoping for the best.
Yep, I was just diagnosed with both. Trigger finger release surgery scheduled for Monday. And I have it in both hands! Dr will only do one hand at a time.
Thank you for this excellent description of both problems. I was diagnosed with both today and will be having trigger release on my index and ring finger on my right hand on Monday. My Dupuytren is a star indentation in my right palm. I'm so lucky, lol
Thank you so much for sharing this information. I think I have trigger thumb, it started less than a month ago and has progressed to where I wake up with my thumb stuck straight. I am unable to bend it for sometimes almost an hour. It's horribly painful, to the point I feel it like a burning when stretching underneath my nail, and all the way down to my wrist. Sometimes, it feels like I have a cut on the outside of the skin. There are times when it hurts to touch things in the palm of my hand at the base of the thumb, so much so to where I drop things I try to grasp and oddly enough....there are times, I'll, press my thumb against something and stretch it and suddenly it moves perfectly fine. No stiffness, no clicking, no more pain....and then just as suddenly, it starts locking up again and I'm unable to bend the thumb. I thought trigger finger left the finger/thumb unable to straighten, this is odd.
I would like to show you my hand and ask if you’ve seen what mine can do. My knuckle of my pinky is so unstable the hand near that area sort of collapses. If you’d like to contact me please let me know.
What happens to me doesn't sound like either. lt is 95% when l'm driving and it is 98% my left hand. lt is out of the blue, there is pain and other less familiar sensations as my fingers [not so much my thumb] all contract inward like someone else has control over them. This may last up to a minute or two. What l do is force them open ... still driving ...by pressing my left hand, splayed out, on my thigh. When both hands are free l massage my left hand with my right hand. Thoughts? [Mebbe happens 1.5 X/year for the last few years. l am 68.]
Excellent description of both ailments. I thought I had either carpal tunnel or trigger finger now it's most definitely dupuytrens. Many thanks in a time where a doctor's appointment is like gold dust 👍
I suspected repetative injury from computer mouse clicks on my right palm ring finger tightening with rsised chord and hard calous like lump. Does ache a bit and can be painful when compressed. My father had a worse case but he had been a cabinet maker and joiner so blamed it on manual work. My brother has this too (hes a deisel mechanic). I have tried an erganomic mouse which is a little more comfortable. No contracture yet but i expect i should raise the issue with my doctor. Sounds like this hereditary thing? Or can this be aggrevated manually??
Hi, I am 74 years old and have a contraction of my left pinky finger,. Your video was exceptionally helpful and very well explained but I am confused with my finger as it has never popped or clicked and is bent in the first and second knuckle forming a “c” shape. It is possible to close my finger against my palm but impossible to straighten out. I have no pain at all so for that, I would assume it is Dupuytrens disease but there is also no swelling on the palm as shown on some videos. I cannot decide what disease I have as it contradicts the symptoms of both diseases. I am booked to see a hand surgeon in the near future and am having an x-ray tomorrow.
My finger locks up sometimes specifically middle finger my symptoms seem like trigger finger although I am only 13 years old do I need to go to the doctor?
I have pain in m'y 2 ring fingers always after workout specially when i do pull up and hand lifting weigths. It starts getting pain more often. Which one of thèse two is mine...
Hello ,it is great video .its really helpful to know difference between triger thumb and Drupuytrens contraction. I have been suffering from trigger thumb sysmtoms. popping and pain initially for few months ,doctor's priscribed anti inflammatory medicine but i feel no difference, even after taking injection into the finger .But these days I am not feeling any pain ,only I feel the thumb is not stretch all the back ,i can't bend backward. and developed think swelling bump at t11 (joint of trigger thumb) .Same symtoms you just explained in your vedio, but doctor suggested me a surgery to open the sheet only option.,i do not want to do that .I strongly belive I can get a better way to treat my condition from you .please help .
I have in my left hand that thickness and it is bit painful. It is not hard as rock but a little softer. I have this since last februari 2023. I train my hands for grip strength quite hard. But even though it is not hard as a rock it feels like a cord that does not extend into the finger. But a bit painfull especialy when lifting an object. Does this closley resemble trigger finger or dupuytren?
I had all my fingers on both hands contracting at night - felt like the tendons were shortening. After a few years now I just seem to have trigger finger (I think!) in both ring fingers. Sometimes also at night my forearm and hand start scooting across the bed like something out of the Adamms Family. Very weird. Coffee and salt seem to make it worse during the day.
I know this video isn’t recent, but I just saw a hand orthopedist, I had a mild trigger finger. No pain. Treated with cortisone. I also noticed a small nodule and thin cord center of my palm, same hand ,which he told me is Dupuytrens.. My fingers are not affected at this point. I would love exercises ,massage or treatment for this to keep it at bay. I had bicep repair a year ago, my finger joint at the palm was swollen and painful a month after. I thought it might be from the sling I wore for 6 weeks. Maybe a coincidence. The Dupuytrens cord showed up about 2 months ago.,
I’m a 78 year old woman with Dupuytren’s. I fell and broke the fall by placing that hand on tile floor, about 10 years ago. That palm looks dirrerent than the other one. It looks as if there is minor structural damage. I have no pain or discomfort; it's only extremely annoying.
@bellakrinkle9381 mine annoys me when it gets too close to the hotplate if I'm checking the heat.If I'm putting lotion on my face, my affected little finger goes up my nose and that hurts a bit .
I have developed Dupuytren’s on my right hand mostly ring finger within the last year. While sleeping last night I was awakened with a lock finger of the ring finger. Is that common to have both? Any exercises or could you make a video?
I don't have trigger finger as described but more like the Duputrens but I definitely have a lot of pain when it happens. It used to be my pinkie finger that would pull in that I could just massage but lately when Im involved continuously with fine motor like making balloon bouquets and such, the cramps gets so bad that I have to stop and try to over extend the fingers for relief. Lately this is taking more time to complete. It is now affecting both hands. Otherwise no pain at normal activity. No one in my family has this. I have no health issues. I am 63. Help. Im trying all the exercises for hands that I can
This is very helpful. I started to have problems with my left middle finger after a car accident where I hit my shoulder against the B post. Now my index finger has joined in on the party. So now two fingers are painful. I can tell that the palm knuckle is inflamed. Is there a way to get rid of it naturally?
I have had both, on both hands, at the same time, and on some of the same fingers...I was down to my two thumbs and a pinky finger before I found a hand surgeon who knew how to fix me up.
I have Dupuytren's in my left hand little finger - I don't find it painful at all - mostly just inconvenient . . . would be nice if there was a real therapy, new medical research to find a cure . . .
Would like a video specific to dupuytrens and what exercises to do to avoid progression of the condition.
If it wants to progress it will.

Please look into low dose radiation therapy as a treatment for dupuytren's or ledderhose
I have both trigger thumb and Dupuytren’s in both hands. Seeing a hand specialist tomorrow…..Just had rotator cuff surgery recently. Yay me!
Did you get any healing
Sounds familiar. I had my hand surgery before my rotator cuff repair.

Yes, very painful.
I’m 51 agreed it’s agony
@LaureOlsonFriesen how strange..mine doesn't hurt at all. I'm 73

I disagree that dupuytrens isn't painful. I find it very painful
I have it, there is a dull pain.
@@Robert_AdairI agree
Me too it aches something terrible
I agree, I find my hand aches often and gives a sharp pain if I put extra strain on it. I also suffer from arm and shoulder ache alongside

i studied different possible solutions (i'm big into natural meds). i eventually found a glucosamine/chondroitin combo capsule (i always go for quality over price). based on the bottle's dosage for regular maintenance, i decided to double it since i needed more than "regular maintenance". i followed this dosage for a week or so, then upped the amount. to make a long story longer.... i eventually maxed out at 15 capsules 3x/day (that's 45 capsules/day!). sure, it was expensive, but in the long run, after several months of taking this dosage, the trigger finger TOTALLY went away (i knew i was on the right track because it was slowly improving at the dosage that i was taking). once it was all better, i slowly tapered off the dosage, making sure i paid attention to whether or not the trigger finger issue returned. since it didn't, i kept decreasing the dosage until i was totally off the capsules (took about a year or so. i don't remember the exact time frames as this was back in the 1990's). to date, i haven't had to go back on it and the trigger finger has not returned. after being healed of the trigger finger i've had full function of my thumb (something my doctor told me i probably would never have, had i gotten surgery). keep in mind, i am NOT a doctor, i am NOT trying to diagnose anybody's condition, and i am NOT saying this will work for anyone who has trigger finger. all i am doing is reporting what i did and the outcome that i have had.
@@grahammcfadyenhill9555 Hope you’re feeling better. 💜
Michelle After listening to this my snap crackle pop in thumb must be a trigger condition. I recently purchased a brace at the local medical supply store , as I explained to the assistant how my thumb was popping and he agrees with your assessment.
I will follow your exercises. Thank you, very informative.
Thank God my wife found your videos. I have a trigger finger that is very painful .. Thank you for the education!!! I will go to a specialist....
Glad to help
Thank you, very helpful. Would like to know more about home treatment for Trigger Finger.
You are awesome! Thank you for your videos they’re really help me especially when I can’t afford to see a specialist.
That’s an excellent explanation, I just had surgery for both.
I'm finding great relief being relentless. Stretching, massaging , vibrator and arthritis salve.
Thanks a lot for your insights, it's really valuable!
@@oscargalvez7 I may add, I now have had 9 trigger finger releases 2 -2022. After the stitches ( 3or 4) were taken our, 2 weeks, my hand was fully functional with no therapy or pain med. Not even an aspirin
I’ve got this in early 30s is that normal?
Thanks.
I'm doing low dose radiation for dupuytren's it can be used for ledderhose as well

How long does it take for dupytures to progress from stage 1 the nodules on Palm to late stage of dupytures. ?
Excellent discriptions.
Now I’m able to understand my real problem. Thanks
You are welcome and happy to hear the ganglion went away! I had one myself and it went away but took a long time.
Would love to know exercises for trigger finger.
Thank you!
I have Dupuytren's and need to find a non-surgical way to fix it. Thanks!
What are the exercise we can do so it help us reduce this priblems in th hands

Thanks for the useful video! It was exactly what I was looking for 💯
Great video! Thank you so much for letting us know the difference between the two👍🏼❤
Yes thank you , for explaining the differences,
My pleasure!
:) Thank you for helping me, and your hair is beautiful.
That is great your recovery was so short! I do hope it does not come back !
@@donnathomson466I’m in the GTA - how are you doing now?
i've had trigger finger in my left pinky finger for a few years but only now have i found out what it is. i thought it was nothing to worry about because it has never caused me any pain or discomfort, its just mildly annoying when it's a bit more difficult to straighten then my other fingers. one thing i've noticed is if i try to straighten out all my left fingers, only the other 4 straighten and my pinky sits in a curved position which feels like its natural resting position. i can straighten it but its like i have to put extra effort into it. while it still doesn't affect me at all apart from being a little annoying it's definitely something i will think about getting checked out now.
Thank you, my friend has the dupuytrens and has the bent finger. She is looking into having it taken care of. This information might help her.
I’m a 59 year old female and I have both of these conditions.
Thank you, I now know what the sticking of my hand is where I have to physically open it.
I have DC in the Right hand with one nodule and no impairment, just started stretches
What are the treatments for Duprutrens
My husband has the 2nd one as both hands with all four fingers horribly turned under & each turns out sorta sideways away from either thumb .He can hardly hold or use for many thigs needed . He is 74 yrs old & says he is to far gone or old to get help like surgery ? I would love your opinion ...enjoyed your video ! Thank you much !!
I think that I have dupuytren’s but still waiting for my appointment with a hand specialist. Have you used Shockwave therapy to help keep the contraction at bay?
I have the beginning of Dupuytrens, no curled finger as of yet. Should I wait or should I contact my physician ASAP? Thank you in advance.
Can I be cheeky and ask what are a your symptoms as I think this is happening to me
Has Dupuytren's been associated with any neurodegenerative disorders?
A hand doctor would be able to give you an accurate diagnosis.
I saw the Dupuytren dimples start on both hands when I was in my late 30s.
You are so pretty. I love your hair. Are they highlights?
Thank you your video is very informative but I want to know if you can have both trigger finger and dupuytren?
You are welcome! And yes, it is possible.
Yep, I was just diagnosed with both. Trigger finger release surgery scheduled for Monday. And I have it in both hands! Dr will only do one hand at a time.
What If You Have Both Dupytrins Contracture and Trigger Finger In BOTH HANDS?
Well my father has it and I'm 43 and mine has started its tender but definitely drawing would love to get things to do to try to keep it
Thank you for this excellent description of both problems.
A simple n clearly illustrated video.......
Glad it was helpful!

I was doing a redundant action with my hands when a tendon topped up. Could this be an injury and not dupuytrens? Thanks.
The Dupuytrens cord showed up about 2 months ago.,
Thank you. I've been putting off seeing my Doctor and it's getting worse. (TRIGGER). Stubborn 😣

This is very helpful. I started to have problems with my left middle finger after a car accident where I hit my shoulder against the B post. Now my index finger has joined in on the party. So now two fingers are painful. I can tell that the palm knuckle is inflamed. Is there a way to get rid of it naturally?
